A Longer Than Needed Summer

Narcissa meets you at the station with Castor and Draco however gets caught up in a conversation with someone, so you take this time to show your friends Castor for the first time. You find the group all together near the Weasleys. “Hello everybody, Meet Castor, my so- um brother. Can you say hi Castor?” and with a wave he greets everyone with, “Aww!”’s erupt from them all. You set him down and ask him to run to George, and George bends down and gives him a little hug. “Wow, he must like you! He almost never hugs anyone and is usually a bit shy.” you say to the group. Molly asks how old he is and you respond by telling her that his first birthday was on December 23rd, to which she had an understanding look on her face as to why you were so worried on the platform when Lucius had not shown up. She also had another expression- almost as if she knew he was your son… Anyways, everyone was so happy to meet Castor, and had a great time getting hugs and high-fives from him. Eventually Draco and Narcissa found you and Castor, and it seemed as though the group had noticed how you had changed so quickly from happiness with your friends to a stony and cold expression settling on your face. You already disappointed them, and didn't want them to do anything bad until school. She ushered you all away from the platform and back to Malfoy Manor, where you would spend the summer. You settled back in your room and later put on appropriate clothes for dinner, where you had the wrath of Lucius for your disappointment and lycanthropy, as he had a bad day at work. Lucky, the moon wasn't for a while, so you didn't have to worry about that. You didn't have an owl to communicate with George or anyone with that matter, however you got bored and started making woven cords into bracelets. You made as many as you could and still had time. You played with Castor and even got him to walk a few steps. You knew when he was old enough and the time was right, you would tell him everything you knew about the Malfoys and all of your suspicions but first, you had to wait. When Narcissa and Lucius were busy, you got to be around Draco. Even though you two don't like each other, you both knew that you were drowning, and there was an understanding that you were drowning together. Drowning in sorrow, anger, worry, regret, sadness… One late night, you heard Narcissa and Lucius talking about a letter from Bellatrix. You didn't know what they meant and had became intrigued to see what it was.

The first moon of the summer, you got nothing but a few more bruises that were darker in color, and a small scratch a few inches long on your left hip. Your right hip had started to hurt even when the moon wasn't around. The second moon was the worst so far, but not the worst to come. You were bleeding very badly from a large slash on your stomach, and you were found half dead in your cell. They had to transfer you to St.Mungos for a few days until you got better. The last transformation of the summer was creeping up very slowly and when it had hit, it hit hard. It hurt worse that time than any other, and the cells were unlocked around your area so some werewolves made it into the hallway. You woke up feeling lightheaded and aware you were in a heap of your own blood, then passed out. You woke up at St. Mungos, unable to feel halve-way down your right leg. You saw Lucius and Narcissa with Castor and Draco, and Draco is the harder of you two, so when you saw him crying you knew something bad must have happened. You had lost a lot of weight ever since becoming a lycanthrope, and that probably was a factor in why he was crying. The mediwitch noticed you were awake, and offered you some water and something to eat, which you had declined as you felt really nauseous at the moment. You were informed that you no longer had part of your leg, and would have a prosthetic. Not even wizardry could help it. You spent your time in St. Mungos learning how to knit and crochet, because what could be more boring? You got pretty good and quick, so you started on some presents for the group. August 23rd was the day you had taken your first steps in a prosthetic leg, and although it wasn't the best, you thought it was better than being paralised. Why did bad things always happen to you? Why were you a lycanthrope? Why are you with the Malfoys? Why had you been forced to have Castor at a young age? Why had everything good that happened always come with a greater consequence? Sometimes you just don't feel like living anymore…

When September 1st arrived and you were back on the platform, the group saw you almost instantly. Violet started to cry when she saw the new and very not fashionable wooden leg you now sported, Scarlette had a look of worry and sadness on her face, Ava looked horrified, Lee tried to look in any direction but your legs, Emma had gasped, Fred had a look of terror, but beyond them all was George who started to cry and just hugged you. He was still taller than you, but hugs were not yet awkward. You had noticed you had not grown an inch compared to the rest of them, but it didn't matter to you. The Malfoys had said their Goodbyes and left, so George and Scarlette insisted on helping you get on the train, only after seeing the rest of the Weasleys first. Molly had let out a shriek, Ron looked questionate, Percy had made a remark that hopefully it wouldn't impact her flying since she could do a good one for the Gryffindor team to which Molly had tuted, Ginny had just hugged you, and Mr. Weasley had a look of sorrow in his eyes. After that, Molly hugged you, and onto the train for this year's adventures you go!
