Chapter 2: Godrics Hollows Visitor ~ 1899

*Gellert*

Gellert always hated packing. He was not one for folding clothes and packing books into his trunk, even if he could use magic to do so. But here he was packing everything that he needed for his trip.

He made sure he had all of his clothes perfectly folded in order for them to not get creased. He was a perfectionist at times.

Gellert was looking forward to leaving to stay with his great aunt Bathilda. He has never met Bathilda before but ever since he was expelled from Durmstrang his parents have been driving him up the wall. He just couldn’t take it no more but luckily when he was in search for the Deathly Hallows, which was an obsession of his, he found that Godrics Hollow, where Bathilda lived, had links to the Peverell brothers. Also knowing his family tree, he knew that he has a great aunt that lives in Godrics Hollow so he pleaded to his parents for a summer break their. His parents were happy to be rid of him.

Gellert got dressed into his best three piece suit, a black expensive overcoat and leather gloves. He combed his curly blonde hair out of his face and tried to tame the rogue curls. He then grabbed his wand and put it into his coat pocket.

*Knock Knock*

Fuck off.

He ignored the knocking.

*BANG BANG*

"UNLOCK YOUR FUCKING DOOR BOY!" Shouted Gellerts Father.

I can’t wait to leave.

Gellert hated his Father, he was really abusive mentally and physically. His Mother would just sit there and watch, she wouldn’t intervene, blaming Gellert for causing it. His father was a muggle and his mother was a witch and he never understood why she didn’t help him or protect him with her magic but with age he realised she didn’t care about him and in time became verbally abusive to him as well. When he was young, he never understood why his parents were like that but then eventually came to the conclusion that they didn’t like the fact he was gay or the fact his Father had a magical son but no magical abilities himself. How embarrassing for his Father, Gellert thought.

Gellert waves his wand and unlocks the door. He turns around towards his bed to shut his trunk.

His father barges through the door quickly and went straight to Gellert and punches him in the back of the head.

Gellert let’s out a distressed sound of pain. He didn’t see that coming.

That’s it I’ve had enough.

He grabbed his wand and pointed it at his Father.

"You can’t use magic on me boy. It’s illegal" snarled his Father.

"I don’t care, I will jinx you if you come anywhere near me again" replied Gellert in a calm voice while staring down his Father.

Gellert liked the idea of him looking superior to others. He always carries himself elegantly and never allowed himself to show emotion especially if he felt vulnerable.

He’s Father looked like he was going to hit him again.

Gellert decided enough was enough. That after his summer break at Aunt Bathilda’s, he will just run away and never come home again. He wanted nothing to do with his parents.

I’ll be free and it’s not like I will be poor. I have an inheritance all safely put away in Elderwyck Bank for Witches & Wizards that I can access once I leave.

Gellerts Father stared him down but he seemed too wary to say anything just in case Gellert followed through with his threat. His Father stormed out of his bedroom, slamming the door on his way out.

Gellert smirked and then busied himself making sure he had everything, especially his personal possessions as he won’t be coming back.

Gellert and his Mother was saying their goodbyes. She just kept on asking if he had everything. Of course he had packed everything as he weren’t coming back home but he weren’t going to tell his Mother that.

"I’ve got everything Mother. I’ll write to you as soon as I’ve settled in at Aunt Bathilda’s, okay?" Gellert mumbled while grabbing his trunk and his white owl called Ghost.

"You better and you better behave yourself or your Father will have to come and get you and you wouldn’t want that, would you?" Replied his Mother.

Gellert shuddered at the thought. "No I wouldn’t Mother."

"Good" she replied with her annoying sadistic smile.

He dragged his trunk and owl and grabbed onto the port key that was a hat. He was dragged through and felt like he was spinning and all of a sudden then was a change of scenery.

Gellert had landed in a field next to a really ancient looking tree. As he looked round he fixed his eyes on this small lady who was grinning at him. She fitted the description of his Aunt Bathilda who was small with brown short hair. She was wearing a floral dress with a cardigan and had her handbag over her shoulder.

"You must be Gellert. Oh look how handsome you are. I’m so excited to get to know you this summer" said Bathilda as she pulled Gellert into a hug.

Gellert warmed to this woman instantly. He wasn’t expecting her to be so nice maybe because he’s own parents weren’t. He thinks about how great this summer is going to be.

"It’s nice to meet you Aunt Bathilda" Gellert smiled.

Bathilda pulled herself away from the embrace and excitedly said "Now let’s go home and have some dinner."

Home. Something he thinks he can have here.

Bathilda had took him home to her lovely little cottage in Godrics Hollow. She gave him the grand tour of the house, it was old but it had a nice warm feeling to it. His room was upstairs and at the front of the house overlooking houses and cottages.

His Aunt left him to unpack while she made dinner. His room was a nice size filled with basic furniture. Gellert had a bed in the corner with a bedside table with a wardrobe opposite and a desk that was in front of the window. He unpacked his clothes with a wave of his wand and they flew into his wardrobe. Then his books, quills and parchment flew over to his desk and there was some last bits unpacked into some drawers in his bedside table. Next he let out his owl Ghost and put the cage in the corner of the room. He walked over to his desk and started to write his Mother a letter explaining to her that he has settled in nicely at Aunt Bathilda’s and then he gave his letter to Ghost and opened the window so that Ghost can send it. Ghost hooted and flew off into the dark. While he closed his window he noticed a boy in the house across the street.

The boy had auburn hair and there was another boy with dark hair with an angry face with his wand pointed at the auburn boy.

Possibly brothers and their wizards that’s interesting.

The auburn hair boy put his wand up in defence towards the dark haired boy. The dark haired one looked annoyed and stormed out of the room. Then the auburn boy got into bed and waved his wand and the candle burned out.

Gellert was pretty sure he had seen him before but can’t pinpoint how. He was really curious of this boy. He felt like he wanted to know him, to be friends with him even. It was as if a gravitational force was pushing Gellert towards him.

I want to meet him.

Then all of a sudden he heard a knock on the door which interrupted his thoughts.

"Dinner is ready whenever you are ready to come down dear" said Bathilda through the door.

"I’ll be down in a minute" replied Gellert.

Gellert moved his trunk under his bed and then made his way to the door and down the stairs to the dining room.

Aunt Bathilda was sitting at the head of the table with a nice table spread of foods.

"I didn’t know what you would like so I made a bit of everything" smiled Bathilda.

"It looks lovely. Thankyou." Smiled Gellert while serving himself some food. "So there’s wizards in the village as I saw a wizard around my age across the street from us"

Bathilda smiled "If he has Auburn hair then that was Albus. His brother Aberforth has dark hair. Such a lovely and talented boy Albus is. He has had a very hard time lately. Maybe I could introduce you two, he could really do with a friend, all he does is lock himself away a lot lately."

Gellert for some reason really wanted to meet him, to get to know him.

"I would like that very much Aunt Bathilda" replied Gellert with a smirk.

I would like that very much.
