The noblest of the noble and the most ancient families with an ancient mind to match came together. Another get together of the purest of the pure where each families boast and fill their already-big egos.
While the ancient of the noble and ancient families discussed something which looked a bit more serious, the children were engaged in another activity which was surely far more pleasant and uplifting than what the adults were discussing. Normally the chats about the blood purity and such were discussed infront of the children. But there were exceptions, when the sanest of the members felt uncomfortable on including their children on certain discussions.
The younglings were going on and on about their adventurous and exciting life. Hogwarts life. The period all the wizarding kids are looking forward for. The youngest of the youngsters were beaming with joy and excitement, hearing the stories and experiences while the older engaged in their own little conversations only stopping to add their own bits for the main magical conversation happening.
Everyone were engaged in their own magical conversations but one sat among the youngsters, looking a bit disinterested on the conversation. He looked a bit uncomfortable and awkward there, like a black sheep.
Well, he is a black sheep among the Blacks. The young lord Black who just finished his first year of Hogwarts, who happened to be in Gryfindoor. A ruby amongst the emeralds.
Sirius Black.
"Slytherin common room sounds so magnificent. I would die to see the underwater view right this moment. " A sweet yet sophisticated childlike voice chanted. Sapphire robes made her look a bit more older than she was.
"Oh you will love it Ms. Fawley! After all it will be your new home soon" Greengrass assured, giving her a smile.
"Surely" she smiled. "What about the Gryfindoor? " she asked the crowd. Well, there's only one who could possibly answer it.
The black haired boy looked at her with his stormy eyes, a small smile blooming on his face. She wanted him in the conversation. He was about to answer when someone interrupted by answering.
"Always loud and messy for sure. I heard there's always a party, so you can't relax either." Rosier butted in and there were small giggles from the group.
"Proves nothing but that we know how to enjoy our lives! It's really fun Amara, the bunch are nice.
And you will love the view from there! The ground and the forest and the sky, the night sky! I bet gryfindoor tower has the best view after the astronomy tower! Gryffindors are the best people to be around-"
"They all are just a bunch of funny teenagers. Just funny, no brains or whatever" Greengrass snickered, and a lot laughed with him this time. Now many older younglings had their attention on the main conversation. Sirius looked uncomfortable and a slightly angry.
"Really? I thought the brightest students of our year were Gryfindoor. Just because they know how to enjoy life doesn't mean that they're shallow. Maybe you should broaden your mind a bit more."
"Broaden my mind?! For the mudblood and the blood traitors! How atrocious, coming from a Black! Your traitor Potter friend is manipulating you! We're supposed to know better than that! I knew gryfindoor was bad news! Greengrass spat with disgust.
"Potters are pure blooded just like us, you know it, if you really care!"
"Just like us! Shame! They betrayed us. If our kind ends one day, they will be the reason. You lost your head, Black. Let me tell you, beware of your friends, you won't have anything good with the likeness of traitors."
The air was suddenly chilling cold. What more chilling was the silence. The oldest Black present left the room slowly and then there were sighs. Amara searched for another pair of stormy eyes besides her, which was busy admiring the floor.
As the silence was broken by Eilam, as if he was fixing the mistake by his sister, it was soon a joint effort by everyone present at the room to make the atmosphere normal again, soon the hall was lively again but not the same, they all knew.
Amara's face matched her robes. What did she expect from the questions? It was such a tragedy that Sirius Black ended up in Gryfindor. There were Gryfindors before Sirius and there were a very few gryfindors in these meet but none of them are here anymore. Eventhough no one really acknowledges it, it wasn't the same. Something that changed over time. She doesn't really remember those eras either.
How in the name of Merlin did he got into Gryfindoor? He should've been in Slytherin just like everyone else. He would've been glorious in Slytherin. why Slytherin though? How would've Slytherin made him glorious? More allies? Family to show the right path? What is the path Sirius was leaning into?
He was a changed person, but she doesn't know if it is positive or negative, but she hate to say this, she found him refreshing. New but refreshing. No one felt much good about it, and they say it is bad news. But it is family that matters. He is a Black after all.
Amara slowly stepped back from the conversations and reached the Lestrange's garden. She found someone sitting in the bench and she knew who it was and sat next to him.
"Funny thing, arguments are. You will say things you don't mean when you are angry. Mother is scary when she is angry but it is because of fire of the argument. She says that you can't not be angry at family sometimes. But you should forgive or learn from them after the fire is over. Well dad is the silent and stern one. Eilam takes after mother. Him too, is quite nosy while arguing" she chuckled. "Anyways, I think you like it in Gryfindor?"
He just sighed and smiled. "You sounds a bit different. "
"Nothing much changed about me. I haven't been into the place of magical transformation yet" She chuckled. "Well, I apologize for creating that situation. I did not think it through. I put all of you in a wierd situation! It would have been so hard for you hearing things like that but you know, they don't really mean it in a bad way i think. Sorry again. "
"I know you were just trying to include me in the conversation. But i didn't had much to offer. It was so nice of you to do that for me. Thank you."
"Well i was genuinely curious! And i didn't get to hear it all. Would you mind telling me about it?"
"Ofcourse! I don't think we can ever describe how magnificent Hogwarts really is, especially at the first day! It is more magical than the most magical stuff we always experience! Like how you feel when you fly for the first time if not better! "
"I can't wait for that. You all are making me quite impatient."
"Well we are not exaggerating." he grinned. "Also Gryffindors are not bad as they say. I was scared upon being casted into gryfindor but they are mad friendly. Some were a bit stocked upon finding a Black in their house but we all were shocked upon the sorting hat's decision, my family's still not out of it, bless them, so its understandable.
Oh you should definitely experience one of those parties they throw! Nothing fancy but fun. You know what, I'll let you into the common room andyou can decide about my statement about the view from up there!"
"Or i will sneak up up there and enjoy if you don't let me in. "
He had the biggest grin talking about his house and experiences. They talked and talked, Sirius never running out of the wonders Hogwarts showed him and his friends, he talked a lot about them. He had a way with the words, he made the already impatient Fawley lose her mind over Hogwarts.
Gryfindor sounded fun and colorful. She liked the colors. Sirius Black was glowing while talking, and Amara found it refreshing from the usual conversation she was familiar with. His charms and his words, those were something that would leave imprints on her mind.
