Beginning of a Hellish Year
“....What do you think is going to happen,” Yuu asked Rook, the older teen humming as he eyed the other students with his usual appraising eye. He was tense beside Yuu, the older teen humming a small tune to make sure he didn’t make any obvious moves in scouting them.
“Hmm, who knows trickster.”
“You do,” he deadpanned, Lilia having not come out with the other Vice Dorm Leaders.
“I won’t say, but I feel as if this year is going to be rife with trouble,” he winked, eyeing some students with a warning glare as Yuu pouted before nodding.
Rook didn’t like how they were staring at Yuu, he moved slightly to keep Yuu out of their line of sight while engaging him in conversation. It would work for a bit before Yuu figured it out, he was good like that.
Which is why Rook loved hunting him…
…And Yuu hasn’t tried to kill him yet, so that was a bonus.
“I guess so..”
“In coming,” Trey called to Yuu who looked at him like he was crazy.
“Yuu! Yuu!” The boy jerked his head up, seeing Ace calling out for him with his other friends.
“Ace! Deuce! Epel! Jack! Sebek! Here,” he called out, waving as the other magic students watched them with some side eyes as the group reconvened. The other vice dorm leaders shifted to give the group some space as they talked between themselves about what to expect the coming year.
They had a really….REALLY bad feeling about the coming year.
“Dude it’s crazy in there,” Ace sighed as he plopped down on the grass sighing as he fiddled with his pen. “The teachers are at each other's throats! Especially Crewel and a guy named Snape! Both potions professors!”
‘Really,” Yuu gasped. “I would have thought that they would have gotten along?”
“Dude, hell no,” Ace snorted, the others laughing as they talked about what they heard and saw.
“Wonder why Crowley sent you out to deal with them all. Should have been the dorm leaders,’ Sebek began, still in his usual guard stance as he looked around. “I heard it’s a 7 year institution. 11-17.” He scoffed out the ages as if they where nothing bu mere children…and in a way they were, Night Raven is a very advanced place where you not only had to have good magic, but good grades as well.
Freshman groups start out at around 600 students and usually the graduating class of the same group goes down to 250-300 students…on the higher scale.
Apparently one year only 100 people graduated.
‘No way,” Yuu gaped in horror. “That sounds horrible!”
``And they have no tech to speak of,” Deuce snorted, eyes turning steely as he spoke, rubbing his fist out of habit. “Like…at all.”
“Your delinquent is coming out,” Epel noted, snorting as Deuce jolted in his spot before he fixed himself and coughed.
“Come on Epel,” he sighed. ‘Image! No computers, no phones, no internet?”
‘I would rather not, you saw how Idia acted right?”
“Yeah we did,'' they snorted, Yuu smiling as he realized what happened but it was better to ask then be out of the loop and think about it.
“He passed out,” Yuu asked, grinning at the potential blackmail that the others had.
‘He passed out,” they nodded, their smiles letting him know they would send the video later.
They all laughed, Yuu crossing his legs as they continued to chat as they usually did with some of the other students coming out and speaking to them for one thing or another before heading off to their own dorms following the madness.
“Perfect! Are you coming to the opening party of our dorm,” a Heartslabyul student asked, huh he must not have been in the mirror chamber. He had to have Unbirthday Party duties…lucky kid.
“The Unbirthday Party,” Yuu asked, cocking his head as Ace and Deuce high fived.
“Yeah!’
“Totally! I’m an Honorary member after all,” he winked, the other laughing before he headed out.
“Yeah! Probably have to leave early to get to Scarabia’s party…unless it’s on Wednesday for Jamil’s sanity,” he giggled as the others laughed.
“We’ll keep it in mind,” they smiled, rushing out to head back to their dorm.
“Ooohhh!!! Look! We got ourselves a celebrity,’ Ace teases, Yuu raising a leg to kick him as he laughed as swatted the limb away. “Come on get that Magicam shot! Ohhh! Free Celebrity photo!!!”
“Stuff it Trappola,” he warned, smirking as the other stuck his tongue out.
“It’s true,” he mocked, both of them getting into a little mock fight, Ace groaning as Yuu got him in the gut a few times before he slammed him into the ground. “Uncle! Uncle or that face gonna lose it’s insurance!”
“Wait till Vil gets to you,” Yuu laughed as they roughhoused on the ground, Rook smiling as he cheered Yuu on and Trey sighed in annoyance.
Another year of this he supposed.
Just then a loud lion's roar shook the school and they all turned to see the Mirror Chamber doors slam open, Leona stalking out with such an intense look. His magic was swirling around him with such ferocity that both Yuu and Ace stopped what they where doing, standing up in a bit of fear as Leona let out another roar that shook the school
“What pissed him off,” Jack whispered, looking away in a bit of fear as Leona caught sight of them.
‘Oi, Herbivore,” he asked, coming over with the grace of a predator.
“Yeah Leona senpai,” he hesitantly asked, he turned to look at Ruggie who came out as well with the other Vice Dorm Leaders, the other shaking his head as he didn’t know either
‘Mind if I stay in your dorm for the rest of the year,” he smiled, Yuu blanking as Vil, Malleus, Idia and Kalim stalked out as well.
“Huh?”
“Cool, I’ll move in tonight,” he smiled as Crewel came out with a scowl.
“Mr, Kingscholar there is no need for that as your dorm is not being used! Besides, you cannot skip any more classes or you will officially drop out of the school! You are also the Dorm Leader of Savanaclaw and you must be there for your dormmates.”
“I don’t wanna,” he snapped, before Yuu spoke up.
“What’s going on?”
‘It seems the Dark Mirror has brought forth an entirely different Magic School for reasons unknown,” Crewel began, pushing his hair back as he grabbed onto Yuu, fixing his as well. “Since he did it while Lilia was under the impression it was going to nab you again, he smashed the only way back for them. We will be working on how to get them back and fixing the mirror as the school year goes on. They have a co-ed school…so we had to offer up dorms as they have at least 1000 students.”
‘No way,” Yuu breathed as the others gaped. “That's…like a lot…”
“Yes, seeing as they had four dorms we offered up five dorms to accommodate the values of their…houses…they call them houses, as best as we could,” he sighed, looking nervous as he avoided eye contact with his son.
“...You said they had four dorms…” Yuu asked slowly, hoping he was wrong with his intuition.
“...It’s a co-ed school and our school is Boys Only…the girls need their own dorm to keep away from our students…Crowley offered…Ramshackle…” Crewel admitted, his friend's jaws dropping as Yuu’s fcae lost all it’s color before turning an impressive red.
“CROWLEY,” he roared out in all his 11 year old glory, rushing from Crewel back into the mirror chamber where the crowman was cowering in fear at Yuu’s roar. “I JUST GET A FUCKING DORM THAT IS ACTUALLY CLEAN AND DOESN’T HAVE A RISK OF BLACK MOLD, HEATING OR PLUMBING PROBLEMS AND ACTUAL FUCKING WOOD TO KEEP THE AIR CONDITIONING IN AND NOW YOU OFFER IT UP WITH MY SAY? I’M THE DORM HEAD OF RAMSHACKLE!”He screamed out, red as can be as Crowley shivered in place.
“N…Now Yuu…” he began, sweating slightly as he looked to Trien and Ashton for help who both promptly ignored him. “Sam…?”
“You should have asked him about it,” was all Sam said before he turned to look back into the tomb he was reading.
“Answer me you useless headmaster,” Yuu demanded, not even scared of Crowley.
Something even Maleficent was surprised about, knowing the true extent of the man’s power and how…vicious he was in his heyday.
But Yuu…Yuu didn’t care.
Yuu had long since learned that no matter how powerful Crowley was, he was very lonely, so much so that he clung to this job even after so many years because he was surrounded by people. Those that hated him, loved him, ignored him, tolerated him…anything and everything; he had people around him. But he still felt very empty, but no one knew…but Yuu did. Yuu was the only one who saw through him and sat in silence with him as he wept for the times when he was younger before he made all his mistakes and before everything was ruined for him.
Yuu listened and did nothing, he did not berate him, did not judge him, did not hate him but he did not comfort him, did not validate him, did not excuse him. He simply sat and listened, he was a rock that Crowley rested upon for comfort when things got tough.
Because of that Crowley would do anything to make Yuu happy, accommodate anything he wished and give him anything he wanted.
…Or so Yuu thought.
“Answer me,” Yuu demanded, stalking forward as he stumbled for words.
‘My goodness. I never have seen such blatant disrespect from a student,” a sickly sweet voice hit Yuu’s ears, the boy turning only to have his eyes assaulted by a pink monstrosity with a vicious smile.
“....” Yuu was silent before he turned back to Crowley eyes full of fire before he sighed and turned to leave. “I want my allowance increased,” Yuu demanded, Crowley deflating as he nodded and Yuu left the chamber.
“Make a note to increase his allowance to 600 modals every 2 weeks, making it 1800 a month,” Crowley sighed, Trein doing that as they watched Yuu leave. “Haaaa….our prized student is surely vicious,” he commented, sweat dropping as he allowed the fear to escape his body.
‘He wouldn’t be so vicious if you didn’t put him through all the shit you did last year,” the staff commented, Crowley flinching.
Yuu had forgiven him for the Mirror Spell incident…but the rest have yet to get to where Yuu is.
“You do realize that Ramshackle was redone specifically for Yuu,” Sam reminded Crowley. “He has an alchemy lab, potions lab, garden, kitchen, bedroom, study and library,” he named off each one with his fingers.
“You gave him a game room, a literal room closet, sitting rooms that match the themes of all the other dorms for when they sleepover,” Trein added in.
``Not to mention the training room,” Vargas pitched in.
“And now you are giving it to the girls of the institution,” they screamed at him.
“W…Well! I will work it out! Yuu’s areas are only on the first and second floors! Besides, the girls will share a room with their year mates!”
“And,” Trein raised a brow.
“They will share it with year mates and dorm mates only,” he coughed.
“That’s twenty eight rooms you’ve taken from Yuu,” they snapped.
“...Why does this boy need an entire dorm to himself, if I might inquire,” the woman asked again but was ignored.
“I am sorry,” Crowley wailed out, cowering under their fierce gaze.
‘Do you know how inconvenient you have made it for him,” they demanded as arguments broke out before a cough interrupted them.
“...If I may ask,” Dumbledore came forth, Crowleyu seizing up before he stood at attention and locked eyes with the older man. “You seem to see this boy as someone worthy of having the place to himself.”
“...Yuu Fujimaru is an incredibly intelligent student brought here by chance,” Crowley framed the answer precisely and full of information while not giving anything away. “He needs it to achieve and Night Raven College is all about academic achievements.”
“...I see,” Dumbledore nodded, smiling as Crowley nodded. “I think it best to let the students know?”
“Yes,” he coughed, motioning them to follow the courtyard where the students were sitting and conversing with one another. He looked for Yuu seeing him with Azul and Vil, no doubt cursing out his frustrations as he clapped his hands.
“Dorm and Vice Leaders, your attention please,” He began. “And the Hogwarts students.”
Once he had all their attention, he took a deep breath and began.
“The Dark Mirror, which brought you all here, has been shattered due to a misunderstanding that came from incidents past. Until it is repaired or an alternate way is found, you are all stuck here for the time being,” he took a pause as whispers broke out and Leona gave a growl.
“What's going to happen to our schooling 5th and 7th years have important exams,” a girl with bushy hair called out.
“Classes will function as normal as we will work out an agreement on teachers and classrooms. Classes will be postponed for a week or two to get things settled and get you settled,” he nodded. “Likewise, we do not have dorms to accommodate you, thus we will offer our own…therein lies a problem.”
“Yeah, no shit,” Sam uttered under his breath as some people began to notice.
``This is an all boys institution and that being said I cannot allow students to mingle within dorms, therefore all ladies will be placed in the Ramshackle dorm with its only student, Yuu Fujimaru,” he motioned to Yuu who stood up.
‘A first year,” a 7th year girl scoffed as Yuu snarled in warning.
``Make no mistake, Yuu Fujimaru is the Dorm Leader of Ramshackle and one of the best students Night Raven has come across,” Crowley warned, eyes narrowing as the girl stepped back in fear at his gaze. “You will respect his dorm rules. That being said, the third and fourth floors are yours. The first and second floors are reserved for Yuu only aside from the main sitting room and the kitchen. Any other room will have an indicator and guardian crow that only allows Yuu and accepts people in,” he hoped Yuu would be happy about it and get off his back because of this.
“What about us,” a boy with red hair called beside two red haired twins.
“To keep in line with your dorm values, we have tried to pick dorms able to keep those values alive but it wasn’t to be as some have capacity issues at the moment.”
“But we have managed and we have found you all dorms,” Dumbledore came up with a smile. “Gryffindors?”
‘Sir,” they all called out, the red and gold ties letting Night Raven know who they were.
‘You will be with the dorm called Ignihyde,” he smiled, the first years gasping as Idia grumbled and wept into his hands, cursing the world.
“Pomefiore will house those from the House of Ravenclaw,” Crowley explained, the blue and bronze ties looking up as the beautiful teen scoffing as he fixed his crown and whispered to the one in a hunter’s hat.
“My Hufflepuffs,” Dumbledore called the yellow and black ties. “You will be going to Scarabia.”
‘Nice to have you…” Kalim was a bit unsure of how things were going to go as Jamil bit his lip. “We might need to cancel the feast…” He whispered to Jamil who looked to him like he was crazy. “I think it’s going to be a tough week…”
“Yeah,” Jamil agreed.
“Dia…Diasomnia,” Crowley began. “Will take those from Slytherin.”
‘W…WHAT,” Sebek cried out as Silver was wide awake for once, staring at his father like the world was coming to an end, Malleus was fuming slightly before he calmed down.
He could sleepover at Ramshackle if it got too much, they had pull-out couches in the dorm themed sitting rooms.
Or he could bunk with Yuu.
Either was fine.
“You have got to be kidding me,” Ace groaned. “Does that mean sleepovers at Ramshackle are a no-go?”
“Unfortunately yes Trappola.”
CRACK.
That was the shattering of Malleus’ and all other dorm leaders' hopes in a single question.
“You may visit but by 9 pm have to be back in your dorms,” he told them. “Due to the situation I cannot allow intermingling at night.”
“...Not fair,” Ace whined, smooshing his face into Deuce’s shoulder who looked like he wanted to knock Crowley’s teeth out.
“Can we get going,” Yuu asked, annoyed but not wanting to seem pissed off. ‘We need to show them their rooms.”
“Yes…Dorm and Vice Leaders, please come forward. I will direct the houses to the correct dorm,” Crowley began.
One by one the dorms and their vice leaders came up, Yuu among them as he smiled at his friends before standing beside Idia who looked pretty pissed for once.
“You okay?”
‘...No,``he admitted.
“Think you will be later?”
“...No.”
“I’ll come over tomorrow before the Unbirthday party,” he whispered, as Crowley sent the other dorm leaders on their way.
“...’Kay.”
“Now,” he coughed, Yuu turning to the front to see all the students. “Ladies, Yuu Fujimaru is your temporary Dorm Leader. Keep to the main sitting room and kitchen as much as possible on the first floor. Ignore the second floor and keep to your rooms,” he advised them as Yuu waved.
“Where’s the vice,” a snide voice demanded.
“Yuu is the only student in Ramshackle. An exceptional one at that, so please follow his rules…or he will know,” he warned, eyes narrowing as he sent them off.
“Come on,” Yuu motioned them to follow as he moved to leave the school and head to his dorm.
“Vil Schoenheit and Rook Hunt will be taking Ravenclaw to Pomefiore,” he urged the group to come up as Vil sneered down at them with Rook’s intense gaze on them.
‘Come along,” he snapped his fingers, motioning them to follow as Rook gave a smile, all of them rushing past as he took up the rear.
“Kalim Al Asim and Jamil Viper, please lead Hufflepuff to Scarabia,” Crowley coughed, the two nodding silently as Kalim offered a tentative smile, not all too happy that his idyllic year at Night Raven was getting ruined.
“Malleus Draconia, Lilia Vanrouge…please escort Slytherin to Diasomnia,” Crowley sighed, the two commanding attention as they ushered them to the mirror chamber with deadly silence.
‘I will be contacting Grandmother,” Malleus warned Crowley, the other nodding as he turned back to the last remaining group.
“Idia Shroud of Ignihyde, please take Gryffindor to your dorm,” he sniffed, Idia grumbling as he called them to come follow him with a hunch in his back.
“...Haaa, what a tiring day,” Crowley bemoaned, hand coming to rub his forehead as Umbridge spoke.
“Hem, hem,” she smiled, all Night Raven turning to her with annoyed glances.
‘If I might inquire,” she began, coming forward like an eager school girl. “It would be best for the girls to have that dorm to themselves, no?”
“...No,” Trein spoke up. “That dorm is under the leadership of Yuu Fujimaru, he is only 11...He will not do anything, if that is what you are worried about.”
“And the only 11 year old here I have noticed,” she commented.
“And?”
‘...And?”
“It’s none of your goddamned business,” Crewel snapped, at his wits end with this woman. “He is a student, he is part of a dorm. Nothing more, nothing less. So leave it,” he hissed with warning.
“Divus,” Trein warned him but made no move to stop him.
“Stuff it. I have a lesson plan to write,” he huffed, stomping off as Ashton shook his head.
‘Well, better order some stuff for the kiddos,” Sam smiled, heading off with a wink as Crowley motioned for the staff to follow him.
“If I might inquire,” Dumbledore began. “You seem to be very protective of the young prodigy,” he began, stopping at the deadly aura Crowley had around him.
‘Don’t approach him without me there,” he warned, eyeing them all with such an intense gaze they felt the need to step back. “Yuu is technically my charge under this school, as my duty as a headmaster. I have taken responsibility for him, thus anything you do will be met with retribution.”
“...I see.” Dumbledore nodded. “I too feel the same.”
“I see we are of agreement,” Crowley smirked, turning back around with a deep breath before he began the trek to the staff room where he would dole out their own rooms.
SCARABIA
Justin Finch-Fletchley and Zacharias Smith looked around the dorm room where they were in with awe and fear.
It was so…exotic!
Tall, looming middle eastern structures, the place was basically an Arabian palace!
There were so many warm reds, golds, greens, purples…so many vibrant colors as they were led down the hall to the mass moshpit of pillows, cushions and low tables where various people could sit on the ground or lay down and hang out.
No windows as the cool air hit them through their robes as they were all asked to sit down.
The various fabrics strung up, instruments on the side, lanterns attached to the ceiling as they all took in the amazing sights of a Dorm Room.
“Well,” the one called Kalim smiled as his vice dorm leader narrowed his eyes at them, he didn’t seem to trust them. “Welcome to Scarbia, the Dorm Founded upon the Deliberation of the Sorcerer of the Sands. Easy rules here! Simply be in at lights out at 9 pm, make sure you keep communal areas clean, be nice to others and ensure that you don’t insult others! Also have fun!”
“Kalim,” Jamil coughed.
‘Oh, uh…yeah. Try to keep magic to a minimum and not to go walking around at noon, it gets hot here,” he reminded them.
“OI!! Dorm Leader, can you look at this shopping list for the feast,” a student came out, dressed like the other two in the loose fitting garments and gold. “...Huh?”
“We’ll call a meeting later,’ Jamil sighed. ``And no feast tomorrow.”
‘...HUH,” he yelped, falling back in shock. “B…Bu..But your…we’re all back! All back and we can have Yuu actually have a good time! Like without any pretense or anything!”
“I know you wanted to have a fun time with Yuu but it seems like he won’t be able to make it to the feast or any feast really.” Jamil explained to him as the boy deflated.
“Ehhh,” the student whined, looking distraught.
“Their school is co-ed so Yuu is in charge of keeping all the ladies in check,” Kalim offered him a hand as the boy did a double take.
‘Wait…girls are here,” he gasped, some of the Hufflepuffs shifting and murmuring to warn the girls. ‘Dude…seriously,” he sighed. “Like…I came here to get away from drama,” he groaned, head thrown back as he went to go back into the dorm.
“That and you know…” Jamil shrugged as Kalim snickered, nudging him as he shrugged.
“We are the same,” he smiled, before turning back to the group. “So…umm…find your years mates! You’ll be sharing rooms,” he smiled, clapping his hands as Justine and Zach were joined with Henry who waved.
“Okay! So we will be showing you to your rooms year by year! All of you are in the same hall to make things easier for you,” Kalim nodded, motioning them to follow him and Jamil as they slowly walked to the hall where they would be staying for the time being.
“What are we going to do about the feast, you know that everyone was looking forward to it,” Jamil whispered, the others straining to hear their conversation.
“I don’t know! It doesn’t seem right to do a feast right now,” Kalim whispered back. “And besides, Yuu has a whole dorm now! It was just him and now…”
“I don't think Yuu is too happy either,” Jamil admitted.
Yuu…
The first year?
Justin and Zach turned to one another, shrugging at the thought of the very young student in this place that was clearly out of place.
‘Alright! Here we are! Feel free to pick out any room that you would want! Get settled and have some water, rest up and just take some time to relax,” Kalim smiled as he motioned to the large number of doors in the hall as Jamil left. “Me and Jamil will be speaking with our dorm about the circumstances and such! We will come get you when it’s time for dinner?”
“....Thanks,” Some muttered, the boy smiling as he rushed out, all of them sighing as they went to grab a room, opening to the sight of rather plush beds with lots of space to go around for all of them.
“So, what do you think is going to happen now,” Justin asked as he sat on the bed, the other two pacing a bit as they were unsure what to do. “No clothes, no money, only our wands and our school supplies because of course that pink lady had to call us on the 3rd week of school.”
‘What i’m curious about is that Yuu kid. He looks like a first year and yet this entire school treats him like he’s some sort of….I don’t know…king? I suppose? Like he has complete reign over the entire place and they just…let him?”
“Yeah,” Henry nodded, turning back to Zach as he too sat on his bed. “He was screaming at his own headmaster and had the teachers siding with him! How crazy is that! McGonagall and Snape were no doubt ready to murder him when they saw that!’
“Merlin, it's going to be a downright horrid year.”
“Definitely.” Justine sighed as he plopped down and closed his eyes, forcing his muscles to relax and he tried to just…drown out the day.
POMEFIORE
Terry Boot was shaking as they walked through the impressive stone archway leading to a rather impressive mansion that was adorned with deep purple, rouge and gold. The double doors opened automatically, the dorm heads striding in as if they were lords reigning inside the place.
Through the corridor all of them went, each staring in awe at the place as more and more students came out with whispers and points. Each beautiful but none as beautiful as their leader, the man was a beam of elegance and beauty that diminished all those around him.
His Vice on the other hand…if the dorm leader was the rose, his vice was the thorns that coated it’s stem.
“Hooo, it seems we have observant ones,” Rook murmured to himself as the students whispered amongst themselves to be wary of the two of them. “Well…it’s fun like that I suppose,” he grinned, turning to Vil as he coughed.
“Gather the rest of the students please, i want to make this all in one and save my sanity,” he demanded Rook bowing before heading off, Epel staying behind as he pouted.
“What the hell is going to happen now Vil,” he demanded, his dorm leader not even reprimanding him for his language as he too was close to cursing.
“I don’t know, all I know is I am going to need a prescription for migraine medication,” he groaned, resisting the urge to slide his hand down his face and ruin his makeup. “Halloween is going to be a disaster and so is the inter house Magishift tournament,” he grumbled, Epel whining at the proclamation.
“And Yuu is now stuck with a bunch of girls,” he murmured, Vil groaning at the potential hazard Yuu was now facing.
“How could Crowley up and do that to him,” Vil cursed, pacing slightly as he looked around as more and more of his dorm members arrived with Rook coming up.
“Is that everyone,” he demanded, Rook nodding as he sighed.
“Yes, one is sick at the moment, but his hallway mates have agreed to let him in on the info when he is better,” Rook informed him as he stepped away, Vil nodding as he turned to them all.
“Here, here,’ Vil coughed as he had Pomefiore and Ravenclaw looking at him.
Terry Boott was shivering as he looked over the opulence around him, worried that he would be forced to pay for something he broke here.
“Dorm Leader, what’s the meaning of this,” A student from his dorm demanded as various members were in various parts of a beauty routine.
“Something has come up and because of that we have extra students joining us in dorm ONLY,” he stressed, hissing out the last bit as Rook and Epel stood by his side, the beautiful first year sneering as he too had been upset over the ‘no Ramshackle Sleepover’ rule that was now in place.
“That being said,” Rook giggled as he came up, sensing Vil was ready to blow up. “There are rules to follow in our dorm for you all!”
“Yes, yes,” Vil sighed, hand on his forehead to ease the headache away. “Lights out are at 10 pm. Be in your dorms by 9:45 so me and Rook can make rounds, the potions lab and alchemy lab are off limits unless you need it for school work, but you must have another student from my dorm in there.”
“The study rooms are for all of you to use,” Rook smiled, motioning to the archway with the sign attached to it that said Study Rooms. “And the Kitchen as well if you are feeling peckish, but it closes at 9:30.”
“Do not hinder any of my dorm members, do not attempt to help in a potion that you do not know and for the love of the Seven…Do not…I repeat…DO NOT, speak to anyone who is not wearing a school uniform,” he stressed.
“Oh…I do not think young Yuu will even think of that,” Rook murmured, Vil groaning and throwing all pretenses out the window as he muttered something about getting Yuu a proper PR team and the likes.
“Man, I’m out,” Epel grumbled, looking around. “I’m going to head to Yuu’s place and get him out-”
‘Oh no you're not,” Vil snapped, Epel turning around as the Ravenclaws watched in a bit of fear.
The Pomefiore students just sighed.
‘You are going to help me sort out dorms and any sort of arguments that may occur. As well as gathering the back up clothes we have for them.” He snapped, Epel groaning as he pulled at his face.
‘Why do I have too! I want to be there for Yuu! He doesn’t have any dorm mates!”
“He has the ghosts and they will be fine.” Vil sighed, Epel pouting as he groaned and stepped back into his place on Vil’s left. “Hmm,” he hummed, nodding to Rook who nodded back.
“Now,” Rook clapped. “On the fourth floor you will find your dorms! Come, come,” he smiled, ushering them to follow him as Vil commanded the rest of his dorm back to their routines.
“Epel, go with Rook.”
“But-”
“Now!”
“Fine,” he sighed, taking up the rear with a bored expression that many could tell was genuine and not forced, as he followed them up the stairs to the fourth floor.
“Dude,” Terry heard a classmate whisper in fear, he turned to see what was wrong only to swallow at the sight of the smaller boy having a knife in his hands carving up wood with a bored expression, Terry ushering the younger years infront of him as they reached their floor.
“Now! You may choose any room that you wish! Keep in mind the rules when you make use of the kitchen or the study room and keep in mind the time,” Rook smiled as he motioned to the doors around them. “Go! Go, we will inform you when dinner is,” he urged them, smiling as they rushed to get a room to get away from the two crazy members.
Terry and Anthony, the only Ravenclaw male fifth years entered the rather lavish room with a sigh of relief, slamming the doors to cut off the two Pomefiore students as they watched them all scuttle away.
“...They are crazy,” Terry settled one, sitting in one of the chairs as Anthony nodded, moving to plop onto the bed with a groan.
‘What is going to happen now. Everything is so wrong…so, so, so, so, SO wrong,” he whined into his hands, rolling to his side to curl up into a ball. ‘I already know I am going to mess up and somehow insult that first year kid!”
“I don’t think he’s a first year,” Terry commented, Anthony humming but not turning to him. “He looks like a first year for our school but….the youngest I saw was someone like us. A 5th year.”
“Still, messing with him is going to be a problem if we do get on his bad side,” he told Terry. “Did you see how they deferred to him when things where explained. He’s one of THEM, he’s one of the boys. They aren’t going to let anyone near him.”
‘No one in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaws are not going to poke the dragon. Slytherin and Gryffindor?”
“Yeah…better safe than sorry,” Anthony murmured, turning to him. “So let’s keep to ourselves.”
“...Yeah.”
Yeah, that sounded like a good idea and no doubt the entire Ravenclaw dorm thought the same.
DIASOMNIA
Draco was in awe of everything around him.
This was an amazing place filled with so much magic…he could feel his father being proud of him!
As they walked up the darkened pathway filled with thorny vines, he couldn’t help but draw his attention to the dorm's two leaders, both of them eerily silent as they continued up the path to the main courtyard of their castle-like dorm.
They were…inhuman.
They didn’t seem to need to breathe at all.
It was strange.
But still, as they drawbridge was lowered, the sight of more and more students appeared; all of them tense and wound up as they held onto their wands no doubt, deferring to their dorm leader who kept his gaze straight.
“Father, what about Yuu,” Silver wished to his father as they entered the foyer of the dorm.
“He will be fine. It is Malleus I am worried about,” Lilia sighed, looking around as Malleus grabbed the rope to ring the dorm bell, summoning all students to the foyer for a meeting.
“...Yuu has Grim who is still unconscious in his dorm though,” Silver argued as the students began to flood in, Lilia nodding as Sebek was for once not taking his guard duties seriously and instead informing Malleus about Yuu since they had a group chat. The older fae was hanging onto his words, but wilted when it seemed that there was nothing of substance.
Haaa, what a horrid way to start off the year, honestly.
“Malleus, how about you go and check on the rooms with Silver,” Lilia demanded as he gave his son a look that he understood immediately and took his foster brother by the arm to head into the dorm deeper.
“...Brother,” Silver asked, the term long since unused after he had decided to become Malleus’ guard.
Malleus said nothing, simply moving his hand down to squeeze Silver’s own before walking down the hall, the sound of Lilia’s voice fading with each step as he walked further and further away from them, Silver following with a worried gaze as he sighed, opening the doors to the back terrace that overlooked the lands the dorm was located in.
“...I want to burn them all,” Malleus told him, eyes never looking away from the vast valley of thorns and grass.
“...What?”
“I want to burn every single one of them, burn them for what they said,” Malleus told him, humming as a light breeze swept through the terrace. “I envy you for the ignorance I am about to destroy.”
“...Brother what is going on?”
“They have called Yuu…Dirty. Unworthy of possessing magic,” Malleus began, Silver shifting as he thought back to the moment Malleus, Sebek’s and even his own father’s face had stiffened.
‘Wh…Why,” he whispered, his brother turning to him with a sad face, but his eyes held a burning fire.
“I don’t know. But I do know that this year will be rife with trouble,” he began, moving away from the railing to sit on one of the seats. “And I will not be there for it.”
“What would you have us do,” Silver asked, sitting down beside his brother who stared at him through his bangs.
“Stay close to Yuu. I have a feeling once they learn he is unable to use his magic at the moment things will get rough…and…take Yuu to your club activities? He has none and ours is at night, but it will be a while until I can make a route that won’t crosspaths with the new students.”
“I see, I’ll ask Kalim to invite Yuu over a couple times a week, Azul the same thing,” Silver nodded, smiling as his brother smiled and caressed his head.
“You always think farther than me,” he smiled, Silver shrugging. “Ahhh…where did the time go? Not so long ago you were barely toddling after me, crying for me to read to you as Lilia made…something in the back.”
``Poison, that you managed to hide from him and order the servants to bring food,” he smirked, Malleus winking as his younger brother laughed, leaning against him. “You really think they will hurt him?”
“...I don’t know. But we managed to hurt him enough…I hurt him enough,” Malleus swallowed, Silver flinching as his eyes went to the scar barely visible above his heart.
Silver regrets that day so much.
How he was taken out so easily by Malleus despite how long he had trained, leaving Yuu to be the one to face Malleus in all his horrific glory and take up the sacred sword that he had before.
He remembered the moment he came back to awareness, eyes rovering over only to see Yuu on the ground, pale, shaking and clearly about to pass out as Malleus loomed over him, half man half dragon as the sword pierced him right above his heart, blood dripping onto the younger as Malleus had his jaws attached to his shoulder, eyes a poisonous green before it flickered out and he fell limp over Yuu.
Yuu’s wail was the second worst thing he had heard, the first being his desperation the day the mirror tried to take him.
“Promise me to make sure he is never alone, on the chance the first years are busy,” malleus asked, snapping silver out of his thoughts.
‘Of course. We have so much to pay Yuu back for after all,” Silver smiled just as Lilia and Sebek came out.
‘I am going to lose it,” his father snarled, stomping over and sitting down with a huff, forgoing his younger form to his usual one that towered over Malleus and his longer hair.
Oh, he was in Angry Father mode.
The three children shared a look as they all waited for him to speak.
“How did we get stuck with the racist, classists, bigotted, spoiled little shits that seem to congregate into ONE dorm and not only that, they have to also bring their little princesses into the mix and FORCE Yuu to HOUSEthem,” he fumed, hair rising as his magic began to go a bit crazed.
“Father,” Silver sighed, making no move to try and stop him. “Keep your voice down?”
“No,” he pouted. “I won’t! Lord knows if Yuu ever attended that school he would go mental! All of them looked at some of the equipment we had in the communicable potions lab like they had never seen it before! Like are you serious!”
“I am sure they don’t want to be here as much as we don’t want them,” Silver reminded him as Sebek scoffed and angrily ate a bundt cake that was set up for the post ceremony tea party they had at the beginning of every year.
“I don’t want them! Did you see how they acted as if they were the best of the best! Into those shabby robes! Honestly, they all looked to be so old too! How can they have pride as Magicians if they dress like that,” Sebek demanded as Lilia nodded before he hummed.
‘I won’t lie, their attire throws me off. Any magician worth his salt knows robes are only for the most important of ceremonies, even the Valley has long since tossed the tradition out. Using evening dresses and bespoke suits:” Lilia commented.
“Only Grandmother still wears robes, but only because it’s something to keep the chemicals away from her skins when she’s casting and creating potions,” Malleus nodded.
“I have a really bad feeling about this group we got. If anything we need to keep them away from Yuu,” Lilia informed them. ‘And it’s not a suggestion to you three. It’s an order.”
“...Yes Lord Vanrouge,” they nodded, realizing Lilia was being serious for once.
“Good, and keep an eye on the others if you have a chance,” he hummed, going back to his smaller form. “I think things are going to get heated with the teachers as well.”
“How so?”
“The one in pink? The ugly one,” he nodded, the others humming as they remembered. “She didn;t take to Leona all too well,” he told Silver and Sebek, the two have going out of the mirror chamber at Lilia’s order.
“...Really?”
“Everything is going to implode once school starts in a few weeks. Be prepared.”
“...” All three shared a look, unsure of how to react to this lilia who seemed every serious about what was going to happen soon.
“Very well.”
‘And Silver,” Lilia called out, the boy turning as they all made their leave. “Take my name. Not for my pride, but for protection.”
“Father?”
“I have a feeling once everything about this school comes out, fingers will be pointed and accusations will be made…and magic might be used,” he sighed.
“...father,” Silver asked worriedly, his face the picture of shock as Lilia pursed his lips.
“The teachers will try something…I know they will,” Lilia murmured, patting his son on the shoulder. “Keep everyone safe. Not just Yuu. I have a feeling a lot of misunderstandings are going to occur.”
“...Understood.”
“And make sure that Yuu is distracted until Her Majesty can get here. Once she is here I am sure things will be worked out.”
“...Of course. Goodnight,” Silver nodded, leaving the area as Lilia sighed and ran a hand through his hair. Shaking his head he moved to head back to his room, some guitar playing will be able to clam his nerves he decided.
“I mean this place is nice, but did you see that Mudblood that was talking to the headmaster?”
Lilia stopped at the sound of a snobby voice.
“Yeah I did, he should know his place.”
“We will surely see him, we can teach him a lesson.”
“You really want to waste your time on a mudblood?”
“Look at this dorm! This is clearly for purebloods! And he thinks he can be buddy buddy with them! They need to learn to place the muddies in their place!”
Lilia closed his fist slowly, memories from eras long since passed; the mocking taunts and jeers for his heritage and his loyalties coming back.
“Touch any of them and I murder you,” he hissed, eyes flashing a dangerous hue as he blocked out the idiot children’s jeers and made his way back to his room where a messenger was waiting.
“Dinner in Monstro Lounge?”
“...Okay,” he sighed, running a hand through his hand at the sight of Kalim’s handwriting. “Okay, yeah.”
Dinner sounded nice.
Real nice.
“Better bring the vintage,” he murmured, going to his luggage that was exclusive for his wine he shared on rough nights. “I think we will need it.”
IGNIHYDE
“You think it’s real,” Harry turned to Ron who was staring up at the one called Idia as they walked to the dorm of Ignihyde, surrounded by blue flames and bones.
Honestly Slytherin would be more at home here.
“Nah, it’s gotta be magic,” Seamus commented, Dean nodding as the Creevy Brothers looked around in awe and snapped photos here and there.
“Gross,” Idia gagged at the sight of the camera, glowering at them all as Orthos floated out.
“Big brother, all rooms are prepared! But why…” Ortho came to a stop at the sight of the student, lowering down to be next to his brother who ignored them all. “Big brother, what is the meaning of this?”
‘Bloody hell! He can fly without a broom!” Many gasped and pointed, Ortho turning to Idia who grumbled about the stupid mirror and turned to them.
‘Come on,” he growled. “I have something to do, so let’s get you to your dorms,” he barked, turning on his heel as they entered the foyer only to stall.
‘Woah…what is this place,” Denis commented, all of them looking around at the floating monitors
“Panikós! Pónos!” Idia called out to his cousins, two first years rushing out in a hurry. Panikós’ green hair flowed behind him as his brother’s red hair was tied, they must have been working together on something with the other doing the heavy lifting.
‘Yeah boss,” they gasped helplessly, skidding to a stop before their older cousin who sighed.
“Show them to their rooms? And make sure the dinner is sent to them as they opted to eat in their dorms tonight.”
‘Okay…Sam also dropped some goods. Like sleepover goods,” Pónos explained with a blink, moving his ponytail out of the way as Idia nodded.
‘Good, send them to their rooms. I gotta speak to mom and auntie about something,” he brushed them off, both Ortho and him leaving as quickly as they could leaving the two cousins with the Gryffindor crew.
‘Dorms,” they asked with some hesitance, unsure of how to communicate with them before they remembered that the dorms were right behind them. “This way!”
Harry looked back, seeing the smaller boy with fire hair looking at him with an intense gaze as his older brother was leaning on the wall behind him, murmuring something to the younger as he nodded.
Their eyes locked as harry stumbled a bit as his hair grew and turned more red with a warning look to stay away from that area.
He rushed to follow Ron, the two devolving into a conversation as Idia turned to Ortho.
‘Did you scan them all?”
“Yes! I will work on getting the scans of the rest of the faculty and student body when I am able too. I will divide them into age groups as well as a list on who is most likely safe to interact with,’ Ortho nodded, filing the ages away into various files as Idia tapped his shoulder to get him to follow.
“What an annoyance, but this is a good opportunity to see if they might hold the key to unlock Yuu’s magic,” idia commented.
“...Huh?”
“Everyone was too concerned over what the Mirror was doing to listen to what he was saying, and don’t get me wrong I was too. But thankfully I had been recording the whole thing to look at the magical wavelength differences in the school for comparison compared to last year. When I listened to the audio…what the mirror said had me thinking.”
“What?”
“...The Mirror took them from Yuu’s world. Then Yuu’s world has magic, but they hide it. Yuu manifested a pen..”
‘Are you saying Yuu-san might be one of them,” Ortho gasped, allowing the download of the incident into his servers. “You're right!...But this one…”
“I know, it has me worried too,” Idia nodded, pulling up Yuu’s old medical record. “How did Yuu’s surgeries go?”
“...They went okay,” Ortho hummed.
“But?”
“Yuu-San sustained quite a considerable amount of damage to his body that is still developing. While magic and medicine have done wonders, his biological processes may have been compromised. That being said, Yuu has yet to have the usual influx of hormones to begin the process of puberty. But that will be coming with the next year at most.”
‘So we won’t know how bad the damage is because his body is not only really young, but because most of the processes that are a worry during procedures for, haven’t been activated yet,” Idia cursed as he looked over his medical file.
‘Yes.”
“...Send this to lilia when you have time, it’s not important now but make sure it’s within a few days. Have him forward it to Maleficent and Crewel because they are the ones who should be in the know.”
‘Shall I send it to Vance-san?”
“Who?”
“Vil’s father, he’s the one who got the surgeon for Yuu’s extra back surgery following the S.T.Y.X incident when we were unable to get rid of the margin of error during our first operation,” Ortho reminded him.
“...Ask Vil if he would like it.”
‘Okay,” Ortho nodded.
DING!
“Oh! Kalim has sent a message!....Dinner at the Monstro Lounge tonight?”
“...Why,” he asked.
“I think he wants to have a fun evening…before the reality sets in,” Ortho admitted timidly.
“...Sure,” Idia sighed.
“I am sure it will be a nice night! Azul-sans food is really delicious!”
“Yeah,” Idia nodded, smiling as he followed his brother out of the dorm, calling for his cousins to take care of things while he was gone.
RAMSHACKLE
“Please keep up,’ Yuu called, not looking behind him as they took the main street down to his dorm.
He was sulking, hunched over and dragging his feet as they made it to main street, the girls whispering at the imposing statues.
“...Wh…Who are they,” some whispered.
“The Great Seven,” Yuu answered mindlessly, uncaring at the girls staring at his back. “They are great heroes who, in the time of their land's great need, brought forth prosperity with their skills. The Fairest Queen who used diligence to pursue her ideals for the betterment of her kingdom. The Queen of Hearts, through strict leadership brought an unruly kingdom back to greatness and splendor. The King of Beasts who with great tenacity became king of the realm and sought to bring equality to all, even those unfairly banished. The Sea Witch, who in great generosity continued to help the kingdom that had banished her out of fear for her power. The Sorcerer of the Sand with his insight sought to advise the king to bring forth a great kingdom and stall any and all people attempting to topple it. The Lord of the Underworld who with great Diligence lead the souls of the departed with great reverence despite it’s gruesome nature. The Thorn Fairy who lived in solitude protected a princess until the time in which the destined would free her from her curse, she did it without thanks and preserved the kingdom until the day came,” he shrugged.
The girls have swallowed, looking at the menacing statues of them all and their inscriptions that inspired more fear than reverence in the female body of Hogwarts.
The Fairest Queen: “The fairest queen of all, and one who was always diligently striving to better herself. She utilized the powerful magic at her command to tirelessly pursue her ideals.”
The Queen of Hearts: “A queen who ruled over a maze of roses and brought the rule of law to a chaotic kingdom. Under her strict leadership, no rose was off-color, nor was any playing-card soldier out of step.”
The Fairy of Thorns: “A fairy who reigned over a mystical mountain, wielding magical powers that included mastery over storms and thorns. Proud and refined, she cherished solitude even as she commanded her countless minions.”
The Sea Witch: “A compassionate sea witch who dwelled in a grotto deep beneath the waves. To repent for past misdeeds, she devoted herself to helping troubled souls, guiding even seemingly hopeless romances to a true happy ending.”
The Sorcerer of a Desert Kingdom: “A wise sorcerer of a desert kingdom who used his keen insight to obtain a magic lamp that granted him great power. He supported his king by regularly offering carefully considered words of advice.”
The King of Beasts: “Through grit and determination, this king of beasts overcame his lesser claim of succession to rule over a vast savanna. He sought equality for all creatures—even those once banished from the realm.”
The Lord of the Underworld: “The lord of the Underworld, and guide to the wandering souls of the dead. He carried out his fearsome duties with diligence and care, motivating even the defiant to offer their aid.”
Something about all of it seemed…off to them, but the boy had spoken so seriously about them all.
“..Though Lady Maleficent did say she didn’t handle things the best when things came to head,” he grumbled, looking up at her statue and smiling. “But she’s cool.”
“So…your dorms are based on this,” Hermione asked, Yuu turning to her with a dull look as he nodded.
‘Yeah, pretty much,” he shrugged. “Not my dorm though, the school existed before the time of the Seven, but when they came to power they saw promise in the school and funded it and the creation of their dorm. The dorm I use is the old dorm of the original students, the very essence of Night Raven before the Great Seven came and molded it into this,” he motioned around.
“I see,” Hermione nodded, thinking back to the college campus with something similar to what he said. “So it’s like they funded the various aspects of the school?”
“Like a college,” he shrugged, the other nodding as he motioned for them to follow.
“Heya, little imp,’ Sam's voice called out to Yuu as they passed by his shop, the boy stopping as he looked up and waved.
‘Heya Sam,” he smiled, the man coming up with his usual grin. “Something you need?”
“Well yeah, I wouldn’t flag you down like this if I didn’t,” he winked, Yuu nodding as he shoved his hands in his pockets and waited for him to speak. “So, I was wondering if you could allocate some of the allowance you get from Crowley to go to the hygiene fund for the ladies,” he winked, the muggleborns gasping and blushing as Yuu hummed.
“Yeah, how does 400 a month sound?”
“Can you bump it up a bit to 600? The medicine isn’t cheap nor the sanitary products and I know you are getting royalties from your deals and the associations from those improvements,” he winked.
``Yeah sure, keep an open shack for them to peruse through and take what they need?”
“Of course, of course! Should be done by tomorrow and I’ll let Crowley know what you’ve done,” he winked, heading back to his store. “Oh! And that Ice Mushroom you wanted for that potion is here. I will have a crow send it to you later,” he smiled, Yuu giving one back with a wave.
“Let’s go,” he sighed, moving on without another word as they all whispered about what he just did for them, looking at him like he was crazy as he hummed a mindless tune to pass the time as they kept walking.
“Yooo! Prefect! Prefect!”
Everyone looked up to see some students in suits approach with smiles on their faces.
“You coming to the Grand Opening of the Lounge later tomorrow? We are hoping to open with a banger with some new drinks,” one laughed as the other nodded.
“I got a party at Heartslabyul,” he hummed, the two whining as their hands dropped.
‘You always go to those stuffy events! We’ll show you a good time,” they promised.
‘Can you really beat Trey Senpai’s treats,” he snickered, both of them deflating as they seemed to concede defeat. “I’ll be over once the rush is done, the tea party should be over by then.”
“Cool, dorm leader isn’t gonna hound us now,” they high fived, rushing off as Yuu waved at them before he sighed and continued on his way like nothing happened.
“You're popular,” Pansy couldn’t help but sneer, the boy ignoring her as they found themselves in front of a rather impressive dorm.
It had a giant garden in front of it filled to the brim with beautiful blooming flowers, a gate surrounding the entire thing and a gazebo visible in the distance.
‘Ho, ho, ho! Yuu-chan what is this,” a voice asked, everyone looking around only to realize that no one was there.
No one living that is.
‘New people living in our dorm Shoto,” Yuu commented as he opened the gate, a fate pudge ghost with no visible features appearing beside him.
“Ohhh, really,” he asked, the boy nodding as he walked up the pathway to the dorm as the rest of the girls followed. Once at the door he pulled out a key, the boy sighing as he unlocked it before handing the key to the ghost. “Won’t be needing it,” he asked the boy who nodded.
“Not really,” he shrugged. “Nothing really…Bad…no what not even going to say anything,” he sighed, leaving the door open as they all shuffled into the opulent building.
Expensive wood, furniture, pictures of important school events by the look of it and busts of important people. It really was the dorm of the school as they all walked into the nice sitting room where the boy took off his coat and tossed it one a hook without care.
“Soo, this is my dorm. The dorm you will be housed in for the time being, only a few rules. The most important thing is to stay out of the rooms that are not this one or the kitchen on this floor. Ignore floor two entirely,” he sniffed, rolling his shoulders.
Just then some drilling was heard and the boy perked up, blinking before his face turned somber.
“I see you are here Yuu! And you bought friends!”
‘Oh, not the friends we know though,'' two more ghosts appeared, one skinny and tall, another short and skinny as they crowded the boy but he ignored them.
“Shoto,” Yuu called, the fatter ghost coming over with a sad smile. “Where is it?”
“Right next to your room Yuu-Chan. Along with the fingerprint scanner and a passcode inside and out,” he smiled, the younger boy nodding as he sent the ghost off and turned to them all.
“My room is on the second floor, a forbidden floor. That floor is not to be explored in any way, shape or form. I have the ghosts tuned in to watch when I am not here and their is a security system, thought given how things are in your school I doubt it’s what you actually think.”
“...Rude,” Cho muttered to her friends as Yuu hummed.
“That being said, the sitting room on this floor, along with the kitchen is free reign 24 hrs of the day. I would prefer lights out by midnight but I rarely am one for sleep, but thankfully I do have silencing spells on all the rooms. The Alchemy and Potion rooms are for myself only, if you need to make a potion for class you can use the schools communal potionals lab. I have things I want to do so I expect you to be able to handle things on your own.”
“Are you serious?” Some girls demanded as they looked around like he was crazy.
“..Yes,” Yuu deadpanned. ‘Look, I respect your privacy, you respect mine. It’s as simple as that.”
``But you get two floors?”
“I am the only student and dorm leader of this dorm,” he reminded them all with a cross of his arms. “The only reason I am doing this and not having you be sent to another dorm is because the Headmaster is correct in keeping things separate and I have little interest in girls as of right now.”
“Uggh, yeah right!”
“Believe what you want, but I don't care nor will I ever think to care. I am going to be too busy with other things at the moment, so all you girls get together from your dorms and years, find a room and do what you want,” he shrugged.
“We…We have to share rooms,” Pansy gaped, Yuu nodding as he moved to leave and head to one of his study rooms.
“Yes, you have too. There are only 30 extra rooms in the dorm,” he informed them. “So 28 if you all separate by dorms and years. I need the two extra rooms for storage should we end up needing it.”
“Aren’t you dorm leader, what if we go into one of your ‘closed off rooms’ or something,” Padma demanded, challenging the boy who raised a brow at her.
“Oh, ho, ho, no worries, we’ll be guarding…or haunting those floors along with the Crow familiars of the Headmaster,” the skinny ghost smiled as he appeared.
“Yeah, Yuu is our roommate as well and we owe him a lot for being our friend,” a short one smiled as the fatter one appeared.
“Yuu-Chan! The Shrouds finished up the construction on the second floors. They have sent in a monitor for you,” he told the boy who nodded.
“Thanks Shoto. Since I sense some hostility, have the yellow and red ties share a floor, green and blue will share the other,” he told the ghosts. “Make sure that all the girls get a bed and a dresser, also make sure that the bathrooms are clean before coming to report to me.”
“Okay,” they call saluted as Yuu headed up the stairs to head to his room. “Any preference on which floor the two groups should share.”
“Green-blue third and red-yellow fourth,” he stated quickly vanishing without another word as the girls stared at him like he was insane.
“Okay, okay,” Shoto smiled, floating up and down as the other two nodded. “Come on and follow me,” he turned, heading up the stairs as the girls followed, looking around the rather nice dorm with an intense eye. They all couldn’t help but stare at the second floor as they passed, many doors leading to various rooms of some sort of importance lined the walls.
There were various pictures and artifacts around, a persian rug on the ground, golden chandelier and various other impressive items all around with deep rich black curtains.
“Come, come,” the ghosts called as Yuu exited a room with a sigh and moved to another across the hall that he opened with a key.
So…he had keys to the rooms.
Bummer.
“Come along, up, up, up,” they chanted, the girls following as they were brought to the third floor where it was much planer.
They really did make this dorm for a single kid.
``Now the blue and green ties please find your years mates and choose a side for your dorm to make things easier,” Shoto smiled as they did just that, coming in a group of four max. “Good, good! Now…Green ties, left or right?”
“...” One girl sighed, going to one of the doors on the left side the others following as they picked their rooms.
“Okay! Blue ties will be on the left! Yellow and Red please follow me to the fourth floor and…hmmm…Red ties will pick!”
The rest followed up the other set of stairs to the fourth floor, everything the same as it was the floor before.
They really only planned the first two floors for him indeed.
It annoyed Hermione to no end, that was for sure.
She entered her room she was sharing with Parvati and Lavender, looking around at the blank room with three desks and beds, dressers on the side and large windows as she stared out over the vast school.
“What on earth,” she breathed as Parvati and Lavender sat down and tried to process the situation. “What is going to happen now!”
‘With that pink bint and now this,” Parvati scoffed, hands going through her hair as Lavender simply shook her head and tried to process the craziness around her, unsure of what to do as she clenched her hands.
“What I don’t understand is why they are deferring to the preference of a first year,” Hermione grunted, throwing herself on the rather plush bed. ‘I don’t even think he should be here. I saw no one, outside of our own school, who was that age! They kept going on and on about him and how he was great this and great that…”
“I get that some people might be smart but to give this much to someone like that,’ Parvati shook her head.
“He might get a big head…good merlin he might be one of those overbearing types! We have no freedom,” Lavender began to worry.
“Wonderful! We will be fighting against a literal child and a tyrant!” Parvati bemoaned as Hermione rolled her eyes and bit the tip of her thumb.
Things were not looking good for them at all.
Outside Yuu stood still, hand about to knock on the door as he had the ghosts behind him with pajamas and toiletries until he could order more from Sam. The ghosts looked at him in worry as his hair shadowed his eyes, motioning for them to leave them out by the doors and knock.
“I will be heading back to my lab, I need that report ready for the association before they stop by,” he murmured, going down the stairs as the ghosts tried to speak to him.
Yuu was silent as he passed by all the rooms, his ear piece that connected to all the rooms caught bits and pieces of conversations.
“He’s a weird kid-”
“Bet you he’s a dirty mudblood-”
“I say he should leave and give this to us-”
“I want to go home-”
“Great, we live with two loons now-”
“I think he’s going to be a problem.”
Yuu entered his lab, ripping the piece out with a sniff as tears began to well up in eyes, old insecurities coming forth that he had tried to push down ages ago.
From his ‘friends’.
From his mother.
From his teachers.
From HIM.
“But I was nice? I….I thought I did okay? Vil said I was getting better! Vil said I was more expressive with new people,” he sniffed, shaking as he tried to think of something he did wrong.
“...Yuu-Chan?”
“...Yes Shoto,” he called out, the ghost thankfully not coming in as he wiped his tears away. “Something wrong?”
“...Kalim asked if you would like to have dinner at the Monstro Lounge tonight with everyone? The Hogwarts students are opting to have their dinner in their dorms sent by Crowley.”
“...Is it okay,” he timidly asked.
“Yes, we will keep watch,” Shoto promised.
“..I’ll go,” he nodded, grabbing his jacket and saving his report on his laptop before moving to leave the room.
“...Keep the earpiece out for now,” Shoto asked as Yuu brushed past him. “Please?”
Yuu said nothing as he rushed out of the dorm, swallowing as his legs took him to the Mirror Chamber and to the Octavinelle Mirror.
The calming blue tunnel, various fish and corals surrounded him as he walked down to the end of it where two paths emerged.
“Oh! Yuu! Yuu!”
He turned to smile at the sight of the Savanaclaw trio, all of them looking fine as they came up to him.
“Heya,” he waved, smiling as Leona ruffled his hair. “Everyone gonna be here I assume?”
‘Yeah, might as well. The Octopunks food is pretty good,” he hummed, all of them entering the Lounge where Floyd was eagerly awaiting them.
‘SHRIMPY,” he called out happily, Yuu smiling as he allowed himself to be twirled around by the excitable eel, laughing as he was essentially dragged over to the large dining table Azul had set up.
“There you are,” Vil sighed, putting some powder on as Epel worked on a piece in his hand. “I was getting worried.”
“Yeah, nothing too serious. Took a while since I talked with same about a hygiene fund for the girls,” he said, sitting down as smiling as Floyd plopped beside him, head on his shoulder as he giggled and stuck his tongue out at his brother who narrowed his eyes.
Yuu ignored their little rivalry as the Ignihyde duo appeared with Kalim and Jamil in tow, all four of them had sour looks on their faces.
“Not good,” Yuu chanced, the two of them gave him warning glares while the other who simply shrugged as the three safe dorms: Heartslabyul, Savannaclaw and Octavinelle, merely laughed at their predicament.
“Laugh it up while you can,” Vil sneered, snapping his compact closed with a huff. “I will make sure to make it ALL your problems,” he waved a finger to the groups, his glare down right poisonous as he leaned back and took a sip of his water.
“Bet Bettafish,” Floyd called, Yuu shaking his head as he took up a scallop that was laid out as nibbled on it, savoring its flavor and texture.
“Well, I usually would be quite happy with the revenues boost, but I don’t see them contributing anything so I will have to exclude them unless they get some sort of madol on them,” Azul hummed as he came out with a rolling tray.
“Heh, that pink woman is gonna blow a top then,” Jack grumbled.
‘Rare of you to think ill of anyone,” Vil commented, opening his phone up to a message from his father about Yuu’s work.
“...Her aura scares me,” he admitted, others nodding as they thought back to her.
“None of this,” Lilia grunted, taking out the two bottles he had bought. “I won’t tell if you don’t,” he winked, allo of them laughing as he passed the bottles around.
“1570,” Trey gaped at the age, Cater snapping a photo to save for later.
“Nice year,” Yuu commented as he tried to smell through the cork.
‘Indeed it was,” Lilia laughed. “Come, come! Get the glasses Responsible Leech!”
“Of course,” he smiled, going to grab the wine cart with their glasses in it as the buffet style table was finished up by Azul.
“Ooh! Pasta,” Epel grinned as he tucked his project away.
“It’s wonderful,’ Riddle smiled as Ace and Deuce tried to get the same roll and began a kicking fest under the table.
“Everyone watch your heads,” Lilia warned as he popped the cork out, people ducking as he chuckled and poured the first glass. “For our dearest Yuu,” he winked, handing it to him with a toothy grin. Yuu took it with grace and smelled it, humming at the fruity and bitter notes in it before sipping it as the dorm leaders were handed a glass.
‘Nice,” Leona nodded, placing his down after a sip. ‘Nice stuff for sure.”
‘Must cost a fortune and for little ole us,” Azul smirked, sipping it one more time as Vil hummed, swirling it around in his cup before going for another sip, Riddle had taken his with a scallop and smiled in response.
“Pretty good,” Idia nodded as Kalim giggled, the taste making him all giggly.
Malleus simply smiled as his favorite year was being shared by his friends.
Sebek and Epel had taken the win but had yet to drink it, too concerned on if Epel can make anything in the skin of the scallop. Ace and Deuce had nearly guzzleed the entire glass before Cater and Trey slapped them upside the head and told them to savor it. Both of them did, humming before laughing at the pomp, going back to their food with their sodas on the side. Rook was singing the wine's praises as Jamil sniffed it and took a sip, asking Lilia if he had any cooking wine from that time.
Floyd and Jade had taken to sipping it, smiling as they enjoyed the food and atmosphere around them, giggling as the strength of the old wine kicked in slightly. Jack had tried to drink but caved to Ruggie, his tail wagging like crazy as Ruggie was sipping it with grace and savoring it like it was the last meal on earth. Silver was simply eating as normal, his father had been giving him wine for ages beforehand, a great shock to Maleficent who blew up at him during the Yule Holiday where he was given a glass at 13 and drank it normally.
It was scary, but she was just worried it would make his condition worse and he would actually pass out and hit the ground.
He didn’t but he kept the wine consumption low after a time he did feel drowsy.
Ortho?
He recorded everything, moving to have it placed in his precious memories hard drive, he himself wondering if the original Ortho was happy with how things have ended up.
I am.
“Might I have another,” Yuu asked, Lilia nodding as he went around pouring a second glass to his friends.
He knew he would be hurt in a 100 years, more so for his son…but the pain will be worth this century of happiness he could have with everyone right now.
‘So…how are the students,” Ruggie giggled, everyone turning sour at the mention of it, Yuu sipping his wine to avoid answering.
“Don’t even get me started,” Vil began his rant, the wine stronger than its modern day variants. “They aren’t even worthy of being potatoes! Spuddlings are more like it! I can’t even mold them into anything as they all seemed to be little drones of one another!”
“Totally' Idia whined into his hands as he angrily chewed on some pasta. “They looked at everything like they have never seen it before, they also had so many children! Why are kids that young even learning magic that young huh,” he demanded.
‘The amount of children is concerning to say the least,’ Malleus nodded, Silver humming at the thought of all of them. ``But the fact it is co-ed leads to many challenges as well,” he reminded them.
‘Lord knows if that school had blown up over a little scandal or two,” Azul grumbled, leaning back as Jade piled more food on his plate. “Stop it,” he hissed as the Leech gave him a look tio eat it.
Yuu was silent, mulling over everything and the challenges that lay ahead.
“We simply need to keep out of their way. Sure it will be hard, but we will find a way,” he smiled, all of them stopping before nodding. Agreeing with him and his logic, they were fine with this rather large ragtag group that made it work…somehow.
“Oh Yuu, my father wishes for me to tell you that our agency is going through with the makeup line and wants you to be the main face.”
“...I know,” he reminded the older boy who rolled his eyes.
‘They want to see what outfits you have from the areas to try and keep it authentic. They are also bringing some to do trials in them and get a feel for what makeup should be in it,” he reminded.
“Oh..guess I’ll be borrowing some jewelry,” he smiled, all of them rolling their eyes at him.
“Yeah, so much work for you so early in the year,” Leona snarked with a smirk. “Poor you.”
‘I wouldn’t think so. Your sister in law offered you AND Cheka as models,” Vil smirked, the others' smiles falling off as Yuu snorted into his drink and everyone burst out laughing.
‘Hell no!”
“You wanna make that call to her and tell her why,’ Vil challenged, holding out his phone as Leona growled and crossed his arms.
‘I don't’ remember agreeing to this!”
“You did,” Yuu reminded him.
Soon their usual round of arguments and insults began to go around, all of them slightly buzzed and tipsy as they did so, but all in good faith.
It was the last good dinner they would have in a while it seemed.
So the trials begin.
