You are cordially invited to the annual Halloween Masquerade Ball.
You are not to reveal your real name, you will be going by the name Miss Scarlett.
You should try to wear your assigned color red.
We look forward to seeing you there!
She had no idea what the invitation was for until she opened it. And she still barely knew what it was for. She knew that her school had a Halloween masquerade ball every year but it was never anything like this so she came to the conclusion that it wasn’t her school’s one. She still planned on going, obviously, because there was an address on the envelope, an unfamiliar one but still. She was going to go.
She went shopping later that day for a red ball gown and found the perfect one. It was a deep blood red with a mesh corset as the top and a flowy gown as the skirt. There was a mesh overlay over the skirt that had flowers going down it. It truly was beautiful. She then went to the store to get a mask, fake flowers that matched her skirt, and some glitter. That would be her mask. Given, the color hadn’t been exactly scarlet but the invitation only said red, so it would do.
At 7:00 that night she began to get ready. She started gluing her mask together until it was large enough to cover around half of her face and then she did her makeup. It was simple really, with half of her face covered and whatnot, she did simple dark red eyeliner with a matching lip but with added glitter. She put on the dress and the gold heels she had decided on and suddenly she was unrecognizable. Perfect.
