Moonage Daydream

August 29th, 1977

Friday

Somehow i got my parents to let me go to Luna, even though after what happend. I wrapped the makeup and necklace into wrapping paper and now was waiting for the time to pass. 

I was sitting in the kitchen rolling my eyes. ,,Mom, they don't need cookies." My mother was looking for a wisk to mix the cookie dough, for Luna. ,,This is just embarrassing..." I mumbled opening my book. ,,There is nothing to be embarrassed about!" My mother said in her motherly voice. ,,Where's this thing...?" She asked herself looking through the cupboards.

I looked at the kitchen clock to check the time. I didn't had much time left. So i closed my book and told my mother that i would take a shower. After i came out of the bathroom, i put on a knit sweater, jeans and walked back down to the kitchen. ,,Will you take them out in twenty minutes?" My mother asked. Of course i nodded and then waited.

,,Take an umbrella with you!" My mother said holding an black umbrella. I was just about to go and was already half way out of the door as i took it and smiled a little bit. ,,Thank you, mother." I walked outside and before my mother closed the door, she said in a whisper tone. ,,Please behave normal with them."

With the umbrella and the gift in my jacket and the bowl with cookies inside it in my hands, i started walking towards my bike. I put the bowl in the basket of the bike and started riding a few streets along, until i came to the house with the number six-teen on it. It was a big, white house. Infront of the house was a little garden with colourful flowers all over it. As i went towards the house, i saw that on the house wall, next to the door, was 'Romolus' written in a cursive style. Before i pressed my finger against the door bell, i took a deep breath. Only a few seconds afterwards, a person opened the door.

It was a women with big waves in her blond hair. She had some make up on and was smiling at me. ,,Hello?" She said. ,,Ehm," i began. ,,Luna was inviting me...?" I meant looking at the cookies in my hand. ,,Oh, my mother baked these for you." I said, now holding the bowl towards the Lady. ,,Oh of course! Luna and the others are upstairs." She said taking the bowl. ,,Tell your mother that we are very honored, that she took the time to make these for us." She meant, letting me in. I smiled embarrassed and looked around as i came inside. Next to the entrance was a staircase which i took to go up. Miss Romolus didn't told me which room they were in, so i followed the voices i heard, until i stopped at a white door at the end of the hallway. I heard Lunas and other voices through the door, laughing and talking.

I slowly opened the door and came inside. Two boys sat on Lunas bed. One of them had his ends of his hair dyed in a bright green. The rest of the hair was in a dark black. He was wearing earrings and had some black kayal on his waterline. The other boy had really light blond hair that was very chaotic and short. With the two was sitting a girl with fire red curly hair, but still in a natural way. Her eyes were a hazel brown and her lips were dipped in a beautiful red. Infront of them was sitting another girl with white hair and ice blue eyes. She was wearing a blue sweater over a white shirt and had a long black skirt on. As i was seeing Luna, i saw that her hair had a bit more pink in it than the last time i saw her. She was sitting on a carpet with another girl with big, fluffy hair and dark skin. Her purple turtle neck shirt was standing out. I heard music playing in the background. Lunas head turned around to me and as she recgonised me she smiled. ,,Remus!" She said standing up. ,,Am i too late?" I asked as i got quished from Lunas arms. ,,You're perfect!" She said grinning. ,,I know you didn't wanted a gift, but i thought something small wouldn't hurt." I meant. ,,Aw Remus! Thank you so much." She said taking the gift i gave her.

,Oh Remus i want you to meet Stacy," the girl infront of me started pointing at the girl that was sitting on the floor. ,,Mary," the girl with white hair. ,,Hope, Benni" the girl on the bed and the boy with green hair. ,,And Lucas. Guys, this is Remus." Lucas eyed me interested. ,,Have we met before?" He asked. I thought for a moment. ,,I can not remember meeting you." I just meant. ,,May i ask what's your last name?" He asked still thinking from where he could know me. ,,Lupin." Hope poked him in the side and nodded. ,,You like chocolate cake?" Asked Mary now, pointing at a plate infront of her with a big cake on it. ,,Sure, i love chocolate." I meant walking with Luna to the others. After we made ourselves comfortable, Luna opened the gift. ,,I wasn't sure if you would like it, but if you don't i can buy you something different." I said quickly. Luna looked at the three items. ,,Remus you idiot,  i  don't wanne know how much is cost!" She said giving me a big hug. ,,Can you help me putting the necklace on?" She asked turning her back towards me. ,,Sure." I said taking the necklace.

,,Okay, as i was saying." Benni cleared his froat. ,,How can you be so sure that they don't excist?" He continute with their conversation, looking at Lucas. ,,How can you be so sure werewolves do excist?" Lucas asked instead of answering the question. ,,I've just told you! In the last months, many people dissapeared and it always was on full moon! This can't be coincedence!" Lucas rolled his eyes. ,,Or maybe there's just some muder that wants to be known as 'the werwolve killer' or something. Benni, magic, vampires and werewolves are just fictional." Lucas laughed slightly. I looked at Luna who wasthankin me for putting the necklace on. ,,You don't know that!" Benni meant. ,,Oh i know that there aren't some Gandalfs or Draculas out there." Lucas said, making fun of Benni. Hope sighed. ,,Can we talk about something different? What about you Remus. What are you going to do after summer break? I mean. Luna said you didn't go to school anymore, right?" She asked looking just like me at Luna. ,,Oh, yeah. I won't be here till christmas holidays. I'm going to...," i thought about an excuse. ,,I'm going to meet a family member in scotland." I meant, thinking of an story why i would be there for so long. ,,For so long?" Luna looked at me a little confused. ,,Yeah, my grandma is sick and i want to be there for her." I lied. I haven't talked with my grandma since christmas, when we visited them. ,,Oh no. I hope she is getting better." Said Mary.

,,A..and you guys? Are you still going to school?" I asked. ,,Na. I've just gratuated. But Mary and Stacy still have two years to go. And Luna will gratuate next year, cause she had to repeat seventh grade." Meant Benni. ,,And you, Lucas and Hope?" Lucas looked a bit irritated, but still answered the question. ,,We are going to a boarding school. It'll start on september first again. We're just here over the summer." He said. ,,Ah okay." I nodded.

Mary looked out of the window. ,,Oh man, it has started to rain...I forgot my Umbrella." She said frustrated. ,,You can have mine if you want. I only live a few minutes away." I said with a smile. ,,Really? Thank you Remus."

,,So what are you guys doing tomorrow?" Asked Stacy. ,,Mh, enjoying the last days of break." Meant Lucas. ,,Well, me and Luna are going tomorrow to London." Stacy said happy. ,,Oh yes! It's gonna be so much fun!" Luna agreed.

,,Do you guys wanne drink something?" Asked Luna standing up. ,,Do you have any beer?" Asked Hope. As Luna nodded Hope smiled. ,,Alright, then i will take a beer. Should i come with you?" She asked. ,,Oh no i can get it alone. And the others? What do you want?" Just like Hope said Benni with Lucas at the same time beer. Mary just wanted a sprite and Stacy a cola. ,,You, Remus?" Luna asked. I wasn't much of a drinker, but i also took a beer. ,,I'll come with you. You can't carry so much at once." I meant going with her outside. ,,Oh, thank you." Luna said smiling.

We walked down the stairs, and walked along a little hallway. As we walked i was looking around and looked at the photos that were hanging all over the walls. It were pictures of a little girl with shoulder long blond hair and a boy with brown and shorter hair. The boy was deffinatly older than the girl, which was probably Luna. ,,You have an older brother?" I asked walking behind the girl that was only a few inches smaller than me. ,,Oh yeah, Jacob. He has just moved out." Said Luna in a calm voice. ,,But he will come tomorrow around for a cup of tea." She meant happy. ,,How nice..." I mumbled as i looked at the other pictures. ,,Do you have any siblings?" Luna now asked. ,,No, i'm the only child of my parents." I said shortly. It was quiet for a while, but as we arrived at the basement Luna started talking again. It was a small basement. If you even could say basement. It was more like a storage room. Luna walked three stairs down and i waited upstairs. ,,Can you take those?" Luna asked as she held four bottles of beer towards me. Of course i took them, so Luna could take the other things.

While i waited for Luna to get ready, i thought about the others. How was Lily? Was Sirius okay? And how were James and Peter? In less than two weeks, i'm at Hogwarts again. My home. Where all my friends are and where i could spend the full moon night with my friends, without the fear of hurting them. Where me and my friends prank the whole school or only the Slytherins. Where we can go to Hogsmeade and drink together butter beer or go and buy funny candy. Or where we can party with other students. God i will miss Hogwarts.

As i was with my mind back at Lunas home, i noticed that Luna was standing infront of me, looking confused. ,,Remus, are you okay?" She asked. ,,Oh, yeah. Was just day dreaming..." I meant taking a few steps back, to make space between me and Luna. ,,You have everything?" I asked. Luna nodded. ,,We only need to go in the kitchen to get a bottle opener." She meant. So we walked in the kitchen. ,,Hay mom." Luna said to the woman that was stanidng in the kitchen. ,,Hello honey." Miss Romolus was preparing dinner. ,,Oh and hello..." The blond woman tried to remember my name, even though i haven't told her my name yet. ,,Remus, Miss." I said smiling. ,,Hello Remus." Miss Romolus smiled at me. ,,Do you need anything?" She asked now. ,,Nope. Just a bottle opener." Luna took one out of a drawer. ,,Alright." Miss Romolus looked at me. ,,Don't drink too much, okay Luna?" She said strict. ,,Yes mother." Luna smiled short before she walked back to me. ,,Oh, do you want to take some cookies with you?" Miss Romolus asked us. ,,No thank you." Meant Luna, now a bit annoyed. With her free hand, she took my free hand and dragged me with her. I followed her irritated. ,,She annoys me sometimes." She just said without letting me go. I looked from her to her hand and again to her. Luna opened the door to her room and said: ,,Here we are again."
