“you want us to what? absolutely not” Evan scoffed
“no think about it. If we fake date, they’ll realise they like us and will get jealous. Then you’ll get Barty and i’ll get Regulus. Plus, i saw how you’ve been looking at them this whole night.” James replied.
“Fine. i’ll do it. only because i need to get back at regulus. he knew what he was doing earlier.” said Evan, referring to the truth or dare incident.
“Reg? What about barty? He was obviously flirting” James retorted.
“Alright whatever. If we are gonna do this, i’m gonna lay down some rules. Nothing too big, only small kisses when needed. and you have to buy me honey dukes sweets whenever i want. Deal?”
“Deal. But one more rule. you can’t fall in love with me Rosier. “ James winked at him.
“I wouldn’t dream of it Potter” He rolled his eyes, and they started planning.
The next morning, Regulus and Barty had decided to sit with Sirius on the Gryffindor table for breakfast since they had better food anways. Sirius kept whining since Remus wouldn’t look up from his book, even after he started fake crying. Regulus found it quite amusing.
Suddenly, everyone started pointing and whispering and all other conversations stopped.
“what’s happening? why is everyone acting so weird” he asked a girl next to him. She pointed at the entrance of the great hall, and Regulus’ mouth fell to the ground.
His best friend was holding hands with James fucking Potter. What the hell? He has never been more confused in his life. He was going to kill Evan.
The two of them, still holding hands, came and sat down at the table.
“James Fleamont Potter explain. now.” Sirius gestured between the two of them.
“uhm well , last night we hit it off and ended up in James’ dorm. We are dating now, since we have liked eachother for a while now, just haven’t told anyone.” Evan replied, with a smug look on his face. The lie rolled off his tongue easily.
“right… didn’t expect this but i’m happy for you jamie” Sirius carried on with Remus since his little interrogation was done.
Breakfast carried on as normal, except Evan kept flirting with James, while James was touching him and whispering in his ear.
Barty was furious. Every time James went near Evan he wanted to snap his fingers off. He was extremely tempted to.
Regulus loved Evan, they’ve been best friends for years. But now, in this moment, he has never disliked him more. One more flirty word to James and he would rip his tongue out.
“ah shit we’re gonna be late to transfiguration, Minnie’s gonna kill us . Let’s go quick” Peter ushered everyone from the table and they all quickly gathered their things.
“Bye babe i’ll see you after class” James gave Evan a kiss on the cheek and ran up to catch up with his friends.
“okay what the fuck” barty turned to evan and stood waiting for an explanation.
“what? i like James, he likes me. dating boom. He’s a great boyfriend and a GREAT kisser” he winked, and lowered his collar to show hickeys littered all over his neck. Barty’s eyes widened in shock and Regulus looked furious.
Evan was quite proud of his handiwork. Stealing Pandoras eyeshadow and putting a few hickeys on himself and james. ha! genius.
“he gave you those? Evan, you slept with him??” Regulus asked
“no not all the way. just a bit of kissing . what are you my mother? now let’s go to potions .” evan left the two of them standing shocked.
”i cant believe you actually got with Rosier. I thought it was a joke when i heard” Lily whispered to james as they tried to turn a bunny into a teacup. James’ teacup currently had a tail and teeth.
“yeah i guess we just clicked at the party. he’s a great kisser” he pulled his untucked shirt up a bit to reveal hickeys around his chest.
”holy shit. that’s a lot.” lily laughed .
”what’s so funny?”
“no nothing . they just look a bit odd.” she replied
”whatever. carry on with your bloody teacup” he mumbled, and tried to get the teeth off his cup.
“no but seriously i’m happy you’ve moved on” she said quietly.
“mhm. what about you? got anyone” he nudged her and winked
“well- okay fine but you cannot tell a single soul i told you this. me and uhm mary are sort of-“
“MARY? WHAT LILY WHAT TELL ME EVERYTH-“
“JAMES shut up. i told you it’s a secret , so don’t go yelling it. yes, me and mary. she came to my dorm and confessed a few weeks ago. we snuck to each others dorms a few times then started dating. but it’s a secret for now we don’t want anyone knowing just yet.” a blush started creeping onto her face.
“that’s actually so cute. i’m happy for you Evans” James smiled at her
“yeah yeah whatever. your teacup shouldn’t have a tail by the way..” She pointed at the little white tail on the end of his cup
