Chapter 12

Ginny was sobbing, like full on crying. Percy wrapped a warm if not slightly arkward arm around her and guided her to the living room. They sat down and Ginny sort of curled into his shoulder, Percy's arkwardness was overshadowed by the consern he felt for his sister.
He quietly asked, "What happened Ginny"
"I just- I was um"
"Take your time Gin"
"Well um, so Mum has the keys to my flat right."
"Uh huh", Percy didn't like where this was going, especially with how badly Ginny seemed to be reacting.
"So I had a bit of a thing going with um someone", she somehow blushed despite her already puffy red cheeks. Percy nodded encouragingly.
"Do you remember Luna Lovegood?"
Ginny's eyes were trained on the hardwood floor, Percy nodded again before realising she could not see his reaction. "Yeah, I do."
There was a moment of silence before Percy realised, "*Oh*. And she was your someone"
She whimpered slightly and Percy pulled her in closer, "Oh Ginny, It'll be okay I promise."
"B-but it's not, I-She just"
"What happened Gin?"
"Well Luna was over right, and we were um... well you know..."
"Oh, you were..." Percy made a vague hand gesture, two hands pushing in and out slightly.
Ginny laughed slightly before taking a shaky gasp, "Don't do that Perce, you know what i mean. Well um Mum had some keys and came in unannounced and she well... she walking in on- on something she didn't want to see."
"Ah"
"So she just, she started screaming at me and i tried covering up and she ju- just kept going on and on about... well I don't know, all i caught was 'dyke' and 'whore'"

Ginny desolved back into her sobs and Percy didn't quite know what to say, it was what he expected from their parents if he was quite honest but it was somehow so much worse because it wasn't happening to him, it was happening to Ginny. He always felt bad for her, as much as he loved her he knew the pressure placed on, being the only girl. She was the only reason there was so many of them, why their parents had so many kids. They all knew Molly and Arthur wanted a boy and a girl, so they just kept going untill they finally got that girl. But because of all the waiting and anticipation, Molly sort of treated her more like a doll than a child. She wouldn't quite say it but it felt heavily implied that Ginny just had to be this person that Molly had created in her head, and when she wasn't there would be some sort of jaw-dropping row.

It hurt to see Ginny be so upset because of their mother. He didn't quite know what to say, but he tried anyway.
"Thats shit Gin, she shouldn't have just come in, let alone say all that stuff. It's just bullshit and I hope you know that. Do you um- do you need somewhere to stay or what do you want to do?"
"I dunno Percy, I don't really know what to do."
"You could stay here while we figure it out together? You don't have to do it alone Gin."
Ginny sniffed and placed her hand in his. "Are you sure?"

"I'm sure"
