Chapter 13
So Ginny stayed for the night, she slept on the sofa with a spare blanket and a pillow. The pillow was obviously a childs old one, decorated with swirling princesses and fairys. It made her feel like a child, in a soft, comforting way rather than a conflicted condecending way, she was wrapped up, warm. She knew she looked like a mess, in someones spare shirt and basketball shorts, but it felt better, to be swallowed in baggy clothing underneith the pink blanket and princess pillow, to forget about what she was meant be and do just what she wanted to do. Hide.
Ginny knew that there was more to that comfort, that it was more than spare clothes and warmth, it was the hug Percy gave her when her heart was being torn in two, it was the quick kiss on her forehead when he thought she was asleep. It was the fact that somebody got what it felt to be so utterly rejected and was trying to make it better, try and get her an inch off rock bottom.
But it wasn't Percy who woke her, it was Oliver. He was doing something in the kitchen, something loud. So she got up lazily, one foot infront of the other, untill she reached the door to the kitchen. Her hair sagging in a sad bun ruined by bedhead.
"Everything okay Oliver??" She knew her voice cracked oddly slightly after a night of crying but at least she said it aloud.
"Oh yeah sorry did i wake you up?"
"Yeah, s'fine though, can't mope too long I guess, hah",
"I see your point, action and exercise can be so benifitial to mental health, I'm always telling Percy that he should join my morning runs but he just reminds me that he hasn't said yes since i started asking in 3rd year haha"
Oliver talks quick, especially when he has a lot to say, so Ginny takes care in listening to what he's saying, which is hard at 7 in the morning.
"Yeah, he's not the sort", she snorts slightly.
"Oh, by the way, Jesse has a summer competition thing so Percy had to take him, he won't be back till later and he has Nat aswell. So feel free to chill and do whatever, I get if your not feeling up to anything-"
"It sounds nice. The morning run thing I mean."
"Oh, would you want to join me?"
"...Yeah, that sounds good."
Oliver smiles at her, before his eyes glanced to the sideboard and he continued to rummage around. "I just need to find my um..."
"What does it look like? Let me help."
"I forgot where I put my meds, clear plastic box looking thing."
Ginny looked around as Oliver searched each cupboard slightly frantically, untill her eyes caught on a pill box with a yellow post it ontop. She picked it up and read it,
'Don't forget to take these, you left mondays and wednesdays', with a cute little heart underneith.
"I'm guessing it's this?", she held it up to him and was rewarded with a thankfull smile. Ginny watched as he pulled the note off and read it with a dopey smile. She was sure that if the man was a dog his tail would be wagging. It was moments like this that remind her that Oliver and Percy just fit, they're practically melted together at this point. Percy's overthinking perfectly balenced Oliver's underpreparedness, which worked the same way with Oliver's relaxing presence and Percy's overworking nature.
"Can I um ask what they're for? You're not sick are you?"
Oliver laughed, "Luckily not, I have ADHD. Medication helps me not get stuck in my head."
"Oh okay... wanna go on that run?"
"That sounds good Ginny".
