Chapter 11
Cinder Pov
After the group left Gringotts, they started their shopping. They first got all their books, which Cinder couldn’t wait to read. Neither could Draco and Harry. Next they went to the other things they would need, which includes a cauldron! They had gotten their school robes and were on their way to get their wands.
Once they arrived at the shop, Hagrid said, “I need to go get something, you should be fine here at Oliver’s.” We nodded. Mr. Glaze said, “Ok let’s go inside.” They all entered the shop, it was lined with shelves filled with boxes. Those must be the wands. Cinder quickly spotted an old man with pale eyes. That are a bit creepy.
“Hello, I have been expecting you,” the man said, “I am Ollivander, and who would like to go first?” I looked at the others. Harry and Draco were looking at her. Cinder guessed she would go first. “I will!” Cinder stepped out in front of them and Ollivander asked for her wand hand. Cinder guessed that would be her dominant hand, so she held out her right hand.
Ollivander grabbed a box from off the wall. “Chestnut, with an unicorn hair core, 14 inches.” When Cinder held the wand the wand began to spark itself out of her hands. Ollivander took that one out of her hand and gave her another one. “Cherry wood, with a dragon heartstring, 12 inches.” Cinder picked up that wand and Ollivander said, “Give it a wave.” Cinder did. The wand gave a little light.
“I think this is the right wand for you,” Ollivander said. Cinder smiles at her new wand. “The cherry wand wood is a very rare wood that often bonds with a witch that has exceptional self-control and strength of mind,” Ollivander explains, “And dragon heartstring produces the most power.” Cinder listens instinctively.
Cinder looked at her wand again and smiled.
Draco Pov
Draco watched as Cinder got her wand. Ollivander then said, “Who would like to go next?” Draco said, “I will.” Ollivander stared at him for a good minute. That really creeped Draco out. Ollivander said, “You seemed familiar, Mr. . . .” “Free,” Draco said, “My name is Draco Free.” “Well Mr. Free I think I have a wand just for you,” Ollivander said.
He pulled a box off the wall. “Hawthorn wood, with a unicorn hair, 10 inches,” Ollivander said, “Well give it a try.” Draco picked up the wand and it did something similar to Cinder’s wand. “Yes of course,” Ollivander said, “A wand with a unicorn core produces consistent magic and are very faithful wands. The wood on the other hand, are very suited for healing and are very at home with conflicted nature.”
Draco gulped, conflicted nature? He didn’t think he had a conflicted nature. Or maybe he will have a conflicted nature in the future? Well who cares this is most likely just the words of a crazy old man. Draco just held his wand and petted Royal.
Harry Pov
It was now Harry’s turn and it was not going well. They have tried at this point ten wands. None of them matched him. Cinder and Draco were clearly trying not to laugh at this point. Mr. Glaze was clearly confused, he has been like that the whole day. Finally Ollivander went into the back to try another wand.
Ollivander came out and said, “Try this.” Harry picked up the wand. It did not explode in his face like all the others did. “I think Mr. Potter we have found your wand,” Ollivander said, “Interesting.” “What is interesting?” Harry asked. “I remember every wand I've ever sold, Mr. Potter. It so happens that the phoenix whose tailfeather resides in your wand gave another feather... just one other. It is curious that you should be destined for this wand when its brother gave you that scar.” Ollivander said.
Draco saw Harry looking a little unsettled. Draco said, “Well that doesn’t matter right?” “Yeah,” Cinder said, “One massive coincidence.” Mr.Glaze went over to pay Ollivander. “Come on kids,” Mr. Glaze said, “I think it’s time to leave.” We all nodded and walked outside. To see Hagrid holding a snowy white owl on his arm.
