When Thor – not their little grey guy, another much-bigger alien with a large hammer and a nasty habit of summoning lightning, who was apparently the progenitor of his Thor –

– well his genetics anyway –

– when he comes to visit Frosty and Lewis, they are all a little surprised.

Mostly because they aren’t on earth when he comes to visit.

He hadn’t been aware that those two knew aliens before the Stargate program.

Danny insists it was in his briefing packet but Jack can’t actually remember bothering to read it.

Thor visits her on P3X-something which they use for training newbies and where Lewis and Frosty love to come take readings due to its proximity to a black hole – Relatively speaking, obviously.

The other surprising thing is, he doesn’t use the stargate.

One minute they are relaxing at basecamp, beef-and-potatoes stew just got done and passed around, when suddenly there is a giant beam of light, and then one of those romance novels main characters his ex-wife loves, is standing in front of them, medieval armor and all.

Jack’s first thought it that he looks a lot like Cronus.

The Goa’uld, not Methos-who-isn’t-Adam-or-John’s Kronos that is.

This guy is big. Just… he makes Teal’c look normal sized.

He is also blond, with long hair. And armor.

And a hammer.

That’s as much information as Jack takes in before –

Frosty lets out a bit of an EE sound, and runs right at him, Lewis not far behind.

So far, only Ronon and Gerald had managed to pull out their weapons.

Jack is a bit impressed at the women’s reaction time honestly.

Frosty jumps right into his arms, wraps her legs around him and kisses him soundly.

Gerald and Ronon put away their weapons and go back to their stew.

So Jack does too.

Jack can usually agree with those two’s priorities in general, and their sense of threat level.

Thor turns out to have just finished quelling some kind of demon uprising in someplace called Muspelhiem, so was ‘on his way back’ he ‘decided to stop by’ and visit Frosty and Lewis.

Using something called the Bifrost.

Jack thought that was a legend, and smacks himself for just how many legend-related things they have already encountered.

He calls Lewis ‘shield sister’, and Jack makes a note of that.

That woman was so disarming no one ever threated her like a threat level, but she really should be one, and at least Gerald and Methos agree with him on this. Ronon’s sadly already been suckered.

She got McKay to be nice!

To other people!

She could probably make Goa’uld feel guilty.

Hey… that was a thought.

Just then, Thor comes over to them, and introductions are made.

When they ask how Thor met Frosty and Lewis, Thor tells them gleefully and with some pride that his Lady Jane ran him over with her van, and then Lady Darcy tasered him.

She.

Jack turns his head to give Methos, then Gerald, a very speaking look.

She tasered the God of Thunder.

And then convinced him to take her as a shield sister.

Even Parker, sitting all the way across from him, looks impressed.

Thor expresses surprise that Frosty is not dirt-side, and Frosty admits that she’s gotten to work on next-level tech.

Then she asks if he knows Asgard’s – not his grey buddy’s planet, the hammer-guy’s – gate address.

Jack makes a mental note to increase Frosty’s threat level as well. She is already sitting near Sam and Danny’s.

Thor admits to not believing a Stargate is installed on his home world because it ‘isn’t an actual planet but a place made entirely of magic’ – and Jack wants to be amazed, really, the guy in him who still regularly uses his telescope is amazed, but… he’s been around a few blocks now, he knows the sky’s the limit. He’s walked on Atlantis after all. He’s watched Sheppard fly her. So, he also isn’t – and Hermione pounces on him, predictably, when any mention of magic is mentioned.

Jack can’t even blame her for that.

Tactically, more magic on their side is good.

He can’t even think of her as Granger any more. She put a bunch of Charlie’s memories in a bowl-called-a-pensive for him, so he can visit his little boy any time and see him again, and … She is Hermione now.

Thor promises to introduce Hermione to Loki.

Jack notices Frosty and Lewis both tensing at that, and quickly suggesting that maybe they should keep their current location a secret for now? Lewis suggests that it would be romantic to have a planet for ‘Janey and Thor’ to go on long sunset walks on… and Thor readily agrees that they can meet Loki some other time – but he really has changed, Thor promises.

It is plain as day to Jack that both Frosty and Lewis don’t believe that one little tiny bit, so likely whoever Loki is – and Jack is pretty sure this has nothing to do with the Grey Asgard guys, and more with the… whatever this hammer-wielding person is. Gold Asgard? Sure, let’s go with Gold Asgard, Jack decided. – is not likely a friendly, if both Frosty and Lewis react in the same way.

Wait, weren’t the aliens who invaded Earth when Jack and his team were busy destroying the – yup he thinks that alien was also called Loki…

Jack misses the days when one-name-aliens didn’t represent multiple people. Really he does.

Thor doesn’t stay long, but promises to come ‘help out’ if earth has ‘yet another invasion’, which… always a plus when the aliens want to help rather than want to invade, he supposes.

After a bit of eye-dazzling lightshow, Thor is gone just as fast as he came, with only a burnt image on the ground in some kind of funky pattern which, of course, sends Danny into science-babble immediately… well.

Jack goes to refill his stew while trying to figure out just how to set a parameter alert for this ‘Bifrost’.

At least his job isn’t boring.
