Note
This is a Spanish to English translation. It will not be a perfect translation as some things may make more sense if they are reworded slightly. These differences will be as minor as possible to stick to the original intent (as I read it). That being said, let me know if you happen to notice he/she pronouns mix-ups or things of that nature. My eyes gloss over them after a while because I’m so fixated on the content.

The Fire Lily

Lily Joy Evans was always a child trying to reach her full potential. She didn't like it when someone considered her incapable or weak.

The first time she showed that fire inside her was at the age of seven. Billy Tauper, a boy who lived in her neighborhood, called her a little worm and told her that she was not capable of climbing a tree. Despite Sev's protests, Lily quickly kicked off her shoes and competed in an old tree climb near the river. Billy slipped quickly, but Lily didn't stop until she reached a very high branch.

Tauper left with scraped knees, and Lily hugged the trunk when she realized how tall it was and got slightly dizzy.

"Lily!" She heard Petunia's cry. She looked down and saw her sister with her hands on her waist with a severe look. "Come down from that tree right now, or I'll tell mom!"

Lily shook her head; she didn't know how to get down.

"Lily, come down, for God's sake!" Petunia yelled again. "Why did you let her up, Snape!"

"Don't even look at me. She didn't listen to me." Severus defended himself.

"I do not know how! I'm scared, Petunia!" Lily squealed as she clung to the tree.

Petunia exhaled in annoyance and dragged Severus by the neck in search of a ladder. Minutes later, Lily was on the grass, her hair stroked by Petunia as she was hugged.

At least Lily beat Billy and was never called a worm again.

"The Serpent's Daughter," The hat said in her mind, Lily looking at Severus from the stool. "The Legacy of the Sun and the Moon. Where should I send you? Where your blood would grow stronger or to the place that sings to the fire within you?"

"Where can I be happy? " Lily questioned.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

————————》✧《—————————

Lily walked towards one of the hidden corridors. It was her last year and, with it, her final exams. She had moved away from James a bit to concentrate on her studies, grades that would define her future career.

It was well known that the Potters could live fully without the worry of working. Lily hadn't grown up like this, with her father working as many as ten hours a day at the Cokeworth factory and her mother as a seamstress. The notion of work was something she had inoculated herself with.

Lily would have a professional career, not just stay home as Petunia had decided. Not that Lily demonized Petunia's life choices, but what if something happened? If Vernon turned out to be a lousy husband on whom Petunia depended financially? Or if she was widowed very quickly?

Petunia had the opportunity to attend York St John University to continue specializing in accounting (which was an excellent subject), but ended up choosing a typing course and becoming a secretary.

Lily wasn't judging her, but she had faith that Petunia would want more. It's not that she doesn't like Vernon, but she, Petunia, deserved more from him.

"I've seen you before." A voice called out behind her. Lily turned to see the Gray Lady, the Ravenclaw ghost.

In a quick movement, she got too close to Lily and looked at her with those ghostly eyes.

"Those eyes remind me of someone very dear." The Gray Lady cried. "My poor friend, so young. He should have been dead in life, knowing that he lost his soul."

"What are you saying?"

"That I see fire inside you."

————————》✧《—————————

Lily felt dizzy; she had to lean against a wall.

What was it that made her dizzy? She just took that cup of coffee and the water bottle from him.

After her typing course at night, she went out for coffee with some of the guys from the course, including a Hufflepuff boy she met at Hogwarts.

"What are you doing?" Lily asked. She couldn't feel her legs, and the world was spinning. The boy took her to an alley, it was getting dark, and he was putting her hands inside her blouse.

"Something we'll enjoy together."

"Get away!" She tried to push him away. Did he drug her? How? "I said, get away from me!"

"Shhh, I'll be quick."

"I said stay away!" Then, with some strength, Lily pulled out the dagger she bought in Knockturn Alley (disguised so as not to be recognized). In one swift movement, she plunged it into his chest and dragged it to his neck, filleting him like a fish.

The boy fell to the ground covering the cut, and Lily fell to her knees, dizzy. A pop was heard resounded.

"Lily!" She heard James call her. She looked up from her and saw her betrothed approaching her.

"James..." She whispered before collapsing.

"Fuck morality. Fuck, what's right." Lily thought as she carved runes into the mother stones, Dumbledore expressed that it was very dark magic that Lily was cutting into the rocks, but this was what would keep her friends and husband alive.

Detonated with a bit of magic, these stones could immobilize Death Eaters for hours by slightly suppressing their core for a few minutes, thus making them incapable of using magic.

Lily touched the slight bulge on her belly. She would do whatever it took to protect him. She had already killed two Death Eaters, a light poke to the neck with her hairpin, the tip of which was soaked in poison, and they dropped like flies.

Lily looked at herself in the hand mirror. Her corn blonde hair and brown eyes mirrored her, mimicking her gestures.

She could have used Polyjuice Potion or a Glamor Charm to hide in Knockturn Alley, but she would be exposed with a simple wave of a wand. However, by getting yourself a nice blonde wig and contacts, one could sneak down Knockturn Alley with a much lower chance of detection.

Lily wanted to hit Sirius. He had the Black library within reach, but refused to give her a Blood Runes book. In two days, she, James, and Cordelia would hide in Godric Hollow under a Fidelius Charm, but Lily wanted more.

With her head held high, wearing a black dress straight out of a Poe story, she entered a bookstore. Dumbledore could choke on his lemon candy. She would use dark magic for her family.

She would do whatever she had to do to keep them alive.
