Kids Are Assholes
Everybody just sat there for a minute, enjoying the silence. That was until Draco loudly slapped both sides of his face and shook his head. He turned in his seat so he was facing everyone before he said, "Everybody out."
They all followed his orders, Draco not far behind them when he got out of the car himself. He got into the back and took out the girl's car seats and somehow found a way to fit them in the trunk of the car with everybody else's belongings.
After this, he snapped his fingers twice, and the car shifted again. Once this happened, he opened the driver's side door and got back inside. Everybody stared at him, confused before he awkwardly cranked down the window.
"Are you lot going to get back into the car, or are you just going to stand there staring like a bunch of weirdos?" He asked, not caring about how he acted now that his Mother wasn't anywhere near earshot.
Hermione ignored what the blonde has said before she asked a question. "Can we sit in different spots or...."
Draco looked at her with and exasperated face, "I thought you were supposed to be the smart one." He stated, which definitely earned him an offended "Oi!" from Ron and Harry.
He rolled his eyes before he gestured at the car. " It will fit all of us without the charms, so I took them off. It looked like shit with them anyway, and yes, sit wherever you want, I don't mind at all."
This lead Ginny to drag the young Potter to the passenger seat behind the driver's, Hermione doing the same with her boyfriend on the opposite side of the car.
The girls sat in the middle, which is only meant for one person, with the boys on the outside of them next to the door. They eventually found a way to sit that was most comfortable, which included Hermione sitting a little away from the door, Ron leaning on the door and draping his legs over her's. Ginny and Harry doing the same, as it was always a group effort with those four.
Fred slipped into the seat that Ginny was originally in, right next to Draco. George slid into the seat by the door, effectively trapping Fred between his twin and his (hopefully) soon to be husband.
It fit all of them quite comfortably, but there was only one problem. Fred was practically pressed up against Draco. It was exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. It was like Fred's brain was entirely occupied by the warm feeling of their thighs being pressed together.
His mind was starting to go to places Fred definitely didn't want it to go to, especially right next to Draco. Then, because of course he did, Draco reached behind Fred to look behind the car to reverse out of the parking space.
He tried not to think about it, did all of the old rituals he used to do to stop thinking about the blonde. He did math in his head, thought about how the hell muggle rubbers are made, tried to think of a new prank in his head. Surprisingly, the math was the only one that worked enough for Fred's face to calm down from it's flushed state.
They quickly pulled out of the parking lot and were back to driving through the hectic streets of Hidden Nikkō, Japan.
After a while, Draco muttered something about the car being too quiet before he, out of nowhere, leans over Fred and George to get to the glove box. He didn't even keep his hands on the steering wheel and the car started to lean to the left, Fred had to quickly grab it as to not crash into the buildings or the other cars on the road.
After a second of rummaging around the messy glovebox, he returned with a cassette tape that had Japanese symbols written on it. The only thing that Fred could translate from it was Draco's name, the other characters were entirely unknown to him.
Draco regained control of the steering wheel with one hand while opening the plastic case around the cassette with the other. Once he got it out of the case, he held the cassette itself with his pinky and ring finger while pressing a button on the radio. Another tape slowly slid out and he took that tape with his index and thumb, while he slid in the new tape into the slot.
He reached back over into the glove box, this time being more considerate and at least giving a heads up, and grabbed and empty cassette case for the old cassette tape. Once everything was put away and the glove box was shut, he pressed another button on the car radio and faint music began playing.
Hermione quickly recognized the song and giggled a bit before she said in an excited voice, "Turn it up!!"
Draco easily obliged, and turned the music up. The once faint music turned into heavy, loud beats and rhythms that were previously unknown to the Weasley children. None of them had ever heard something like this, it was like a heart beat, a life line in itself.
It was beautiful.
Fred turned to Draco, another question on his tounge, "What's this song called?"
Draco had a sombre smile while he said, "It's one of my favorite songs, all though it is highly overated, it's still really good. It's named 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' the song is by a band called 'Nirvana'. Rest in peace Kurt Cobain."
Hermione was singing to her hearts extent and was more likely to ruin her vocal cords before she ever stopped singing. When the song ended, she was almost in tears, she looked over at Draco as the music faded out. "I'll never get over his death, he was always one of my favorite guitarists and one of the only guys in rock that I will ever respect." She said, face so sad it reminded her boyfriend on a kicked puppy. So he nuzzled up closer to his girlfriend to comfort her.
Draco smiled while turning the radio down and said sadly, "I know, when I found out about his death I was so upset I didn't eat for like, three days..... I went to one of his concerts once, it was the winter before he died, and he was one of the nicest, funniest guys in the building. So cool."
"I always wanted to go to one," Hermione said, continuing the conversation. "I had saved up to go to his summer concert for six months, when I found out I was absolutely devastated."
"Wait, what happened?" Ginny questioned, equally concerned for her new and old friends.
Draco looked at Ginny in the rear view mirror before he answered her question. "Kurt Cobain was the lead singer and guitarist for the band 'Nirvana', they made the song I just played. In, I think April of 1994, he was found dead in his house, committed suicide. Alot of the people I know who lived here were devastated. He was a really good guy." He finished, eyes now plastered to the road.
"...oh." Ginny said, now sad as well. She was always sensitive to the emotions of the people around her, it only made sense that she was now sad with how sorrowful everyone around her was.
Before anybody could say anything else, Draco slammed on the breaks, it took everyone a minute to up understand why but when they did Draco was already undoing his seat belt and getting out of the car.
About ten yards away, there was a group of highschool aged boys surrounding one boy who only had one thing different from the others, he was black.
They were all standing around his in a circle pushing him around and taunting him in Japanese. He looked younger than them, maybe a middle school kid, around 12-13.
Draco was over there in a blink of an eye, yelling at the boys. "Oi!" He yelled.
The boys looked over to him, they said something nobody could catch before Draco's fist collided withone of the boy's face. It made an alarming cracking sound, but by the judge of Draco's face, he probably diserved it.
One of the other boys went in to get a hit at Draco, before he caught the boys fist with his hand and squeezed. The boy let out a yell before he relented his attempted attack and fell to the ground with the first boy, holding his fist in his hand as if it were broken or sprained.
Another boy started to take a swing at Draco with a lead pipe, before Draco caught that as well and pulled the pipe roughly, the boy following it. Once the boy was close enough, Draco grabbed the bottom of the boys school uniform shirt and pulled towards him, effectively flipping the highschool assailant over and onto the ground, groaning in pain.
The other two boys took one look at Draco's intimidating, towering figure, before they turned tail and ran down the street and into an alley.
Draco reached a hand to the boy who the others were bullying. The boy took it easily and the two started walking back towards the car, Draco right arm now around the boy's shoulders while the boy was carrying some books that looked to be for school.
Draco opened the door to the back seat and the boy whispered a quick, "Arigato, Dorako." Before he situated himself on the floor of the backseat. Draco closed the car door with more force than intended, slamming it.
He quickly got back into his seat and started the car again. They were both virtually fine, the only thing that was physically wrong with either of them was the fact that the middle schooler had a brocken lip and a bloody nose.
Everybody stared at the two for a minute, shocked at what they just saw before Draco said, ever casually, "Meet my little brother and one of my four reasons for living, Akihiko."
