Who's the Heir?

(Hogwarts; Early Oct. 1977)
The Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, at the two former best friends with disappointment. He had thought the two pranksters had matured at the begining of last year and it seemed that Mr. Potter had, however, Mr. Black still played pranks on the younger years last year and this. Dumbledore didnt want to beleive what mcgonagall had told him about what regulus black had told her and Horace. He didnt want to beleive that sirius' behavior twoards slytherins was getting worse. Over the years what had started as humorous pranks involving drink and zonko products in desks or chairs had developed into embarrassing spells cast directly at the person they wanted to embarrass or insults hurled at the persons money or home life. Yes Dumbledore had overheard the black heir insulting someones poor cloaths or insulting the persons parents. None of them were muggle-borns, thankfully, but Sirius did insult alot of half-bloods or poor students, with the exception of his friend mr. Lupin.
And now the two had gotten into a duel during the first hogsmead visit of the school year when mr. Black and a house-mate were, according to mr.'s potter and lupin, insulting and pointing his wand at a new 3rd year slytherin girl. The two teens had dueled while nearby passersby watched, and mr. Lupin got the 3rd year away, and the fight finaly ended when both mcgonagall and madam Rosemerta comming out and putting sheild charms up to stop the duel.
Now.... "Im disapointed in both of you, but mostly with you, Mr. Black." Dumbledore says as he looks at the two. The blackette shift uncomfortably. "I know how you feel about slytherins but i never expected you to pull your wand on a younger student." Of course dumbledore knew about the various duels mr's potter and black had gotten into with mr. Snape but he never expected either of the teens to pull their wand on a student younger then them.
It makes the elderly man proud to see that mr. Potter was looking at his former friend with annoyance and sadness, but mr. Black just looked annoyed at the situation. "But, Sir,-", Mr. Black tries to soeak but Dumbledore puts a hand up to stop him. He was sure the teen would just start insulting slytherins and blaming the poor 3rd year.
"I dont want to hear you excuses, Mr. Black, you are nearly an adult and can't continue to whip your wand out on anyone you hate. Now i will give you detention for all of next month and take 20 points from Gryffindor." Again the tern opens his mouth to argue but seems to think better of it and glares at the carpet. Dumbledore called an elf to take mr. Black to the gyffindor dorms while he focused on mr. Potter.
The brunette shift uncomfortably as he looks away with sadness. It was unfortunate that the two boys had grown apart over mr. Potters actions, but mr. Black had to understand that the potter heir had to be more matire now for his childrens sakes. "Mr. Potter, im giveing 10 points to gryffindor for defeanding a fellow student." The boy nods with a small smile before leaving.
Ounce he's gone Dumbledore takes out an old picture of a handsome slytherin. "I'm sorry.", he whispers at the picture as his fingure traces the teens face.
Ever sense Salazar Slytherin had run away one day, in the 11th century, leaving behind his friends and students. Sense then staff and especially students did not trust slytherins or try and be-friend them. Over the centuries it had become common knowledge that if you be-friended a slytherin they'd eventually either betray you or just leave like their House namesake did. And the most recent example of such a thing had been the former friendship of Miss Lily Evans and Mr. Severus Snape.
Thomas Riddle was a brilliant student and loved by staff and respected by the students. In 1943 Tom had been the one to find the deceased ravenclaw, Mrytle Warren, and the teens school life took a sharp turn. The poor girls killer was never found and Tom disappeared after graduating. Dumbledore knew that his predecessor, Professor Dippet, had tried to help the teen but hadnt succeeded. The teen didnt seem to want to spend time with the man every day eventhough Dippet was a welcoming man. Of course Dumbledore had sent out letters to connect but all letters were returned un-opened. Slughorn got the same response with letters.
Both Dumbledore and Slughorn had hoped to hear about him given his intelligence and talent but it has been over 30 years. It was a shame that the now young man didnt seem use his talents and Dumbledore was worried that the same might happen to a certian potions prodigy that was also in Slytherin. The man apologized one more time to the photo before putting it away.

All House elves prided themselves on taking care of the family they are given to/born into. For the Potter elves they loved the elderly couple and had adored the couples baby boy, James. Bow they were all excited that their would be more babies and future heirs in the large manor. However, one of Master James' partners was.... well just the thought made the elf scowl. "Here you are, Sir.", Rody says, bowing, before snaping his own thin fingures and soon the teen has the food he wanted. The boy nods, mumbling a "thank you". The elf smiles and nods before "pop"ing back to the kitchen. Many of the Potter house elves loved the speacial quiet teen that Master James had gotten pregant. They, of course, knew how rare it was for a male of a species to be pregnant and how speacial and brave that made the teen, no matter what Master James' friend, Master Sirius, had said last summer. The elves liked how quiet he was compared to the niose that theyd heard over the summer with all the people in it. The chef elf also liked that the teen sometimes tried to help with making his own food, but of course Mistress refused to let him, but it was the thought that counted. When the portirats of Master Felamonts paitings were asleep the older elves enjoyed telling the teen about their former Master and Mistress. Master Fleamont already knew the stories the elves told and young Master James and his loud friend, Sirus, were never interested so it was fun to be able to tell someone about their late beloved Master and Mistress. A few of the elves didnt like the teen but they were staunch Pure-Blood fanatics.
As for Master James' other baby mum, welll.... The teen witch, Miss Evans, was suppossed to be a kind girl who spoke up for magical creatures; atleast thats what young Master James had told Master and Mistress and by extention the elves. However, now that the girl was in their house it was clear that it was either a lie or, as Master James was hoping, she was acting so selfishly dur to her pregnancy. For Rody and the other elves, they also hoped the teen would be nice again like they'd been told. After all, during the summer, it was clear Master James fancied the pretty witch so they'd be married in afew years and the elves didnt want to serve someone so selfish. To be clear the girl wasnt as cruel as some pure-blooded Masters could be but unlike with Master and Mistress Potter the teen didnt give them a sliver of her magic for what they did, which if she really wanted to help House elves she should know, or even just thanking the elves for what they did for her.
Over the month the elves enjoy helping and spending time with the quiet Mr. Snape. Making sure he got proper meals, was never bored being stuck in bed, and even braught the protariats from the library so he could talk with the old Master and Mistress when he wanted to. When Master and Mistress take the teen for his weekly visit to get the heirs checked out the elves deep clean the room and make sure his favrite lunch or a snack is waiting for him.
On Halloween the elves give Mr. Snape a letter from his House-mates and a letter and a small Halloween gift from Master James himself. The elf leaves after handing them to him and goes about doing his chores for the house. Rody was almost done when another, younger, elf comes and says that Mistress wanted him.
Rody "pop"s to Mistress to find her in Mr. Snape's room. The teen was crying while holding one of the letters. Rody stands still and quiet, wanting to comfort the teen but not wanting to bother his Mistress while she comforted him. The elderly woman fibaly looks at Rody after the teen seems to calm down. "Get some Blood Pops, please?", she mouths and Rody nods before quicjly "pop"ing away. Seconds later the elf returns and gives two to his Mistress while holding the other two. Mistress had told the elves that Mr. Snape had a Vampire in his anscestory and had gotten his pale sking and a liking for Blood Pops from his anscestor. Rody stays to make sure the boy is alright; in elf years he was the same age as Master James and Mr. Snape but while he wasnt able to bond with Master James Rody felt close to Mr. Snape's quiet yet witty personality.
After a few minutes Mistress calms the teen down enough for him to explain. With a blush of embarrassment he quietly explains how one of his House friends had told him that Master Sirius had lost his guardian and that Mr. Snape felt bad for his friend, Regulus, losing an uncle. Mistress pats his arm and motions for Rody to leave. The elf does so but not before gently patting the teens leg as well.
When he gets to the kitchen the elf makes Mr. Snape's dinner in hopes of cheering the teen up. When hes done Rody brings the food to Mr. Snape and he's happy when Mr. Snape thanks him with giving him a small sliver of his magic, after being taught by Mistress. Rody sniles happily at Mr. Snape, atleast one of Master James' baby "mum"s cared enough about their future to learn how to thank elves.
