Luna - Hot Chocolate
The way Luna made hot chocolate involved magic, the mundane, and more. No one in the world, nay, the universe, made it quite like Luna did.
It tasted… interesting. Luna loved it, but she knew her friends tended to take a few sips for politeness’s sake and then set the homemade cup gently aside.
Still, Draco, Harry, Pansy, and Hermione were all smiles and good cheer whenever they visited Luna, together or separately, and that’s all she could ask for, really.
No one called her Loony, or rolled their eyes (well, Draco and Pansy rolled their eyes sometimes, but Slytherins tended to do that), or shared too many Looks over the things she said (though Hermione initiated most of the ones that did go around).
“Would anyone like biscuits to go with their cocoa?” Luna asked, and gestured to the sparkling tin on her table as her four guests carefully sipped their drinks, “I made some just yesterday with the fruit from the greenhouse.”
“What fruit?” Draco asked, “Because if it’s fruit from the plant we got you for your birthday, the answer is absolutely not and you shouldn’t really be eating them either.”
“Don’t be silly,” Luna chided, “I would never eat fruit from Agatha. She wouldn’t like that at all. No, it’s just strawberry compote in the center of sugar cookies. My dad taught me how to make them.”
“Can’t hurt to try,” Harry said, walking over to the tin. “Who else will have one with me?”
To Luna’s delight, Hermione, Pansy, and Draco all assented to Harry’s request. And they ate the cookies with pleasure as opposed to duty, since that recipe was specifically made for non-Lovegoods to enjoy.
