WITH Sirius out of Azkaban and pronounced a free man you were finally ready to talk more about the wedding. You, Remus, and Sirius were sitting at the dining table that was covered with different images of ceremony venues.Β
βThe reception is going to be at the Burrow, correct?β Remus asked as he picked up a picture of a couple looking very happy on the beach. Getting married at the beach sounded nice to him.Β
βRight but we need a place to actually get married,β you narrowed your eyes as you looked at the different venues on the table. Since this would be the one and only time you would get married it needed to be perfect.Β
βWe could get married in the Muggle world. We could honor your parents that way,β Sirius suggested.Β
βThatβs a nice thought but Muggles really arenβt in favor of three people marrying each other,β you slowly shook your head. βItβs even considered illegal,β you made air quotes when you said the word βillegal.β You always thought that law was stupid. There should not be a limit to how many people your heart decides to love.Β
βWell, we could ask Madam Rosmerta is we could get married in the Three Broomsticks. Thatβs where we had our first official date together. Guest could apparate back to the Burrows after the ceremony is done,β Sirius drew patterns on the dining room table. Getting married at the Thee Broomsticks was unique and quite rare. Madam Rosmerta probably never got asked for permission for wizards and witches to get married in her pub.Β
βI kind of like that idea,β you giggled, βitβs sweet.β
βYes. Iβm pretty sure one of the talking heads in the front can officiate the wedding,β Remus sassed.Β
βIβm pretty sure theyβll cuss us out before we get the chance to ask them,β you laughed. Those talking heads could be a bit sassy when someone got on their bad side.Β
βAll in favor of getting married at the Three Broomsticks raise your hand.β The three of you raised your hands. You let out a genuine laugh of happiness. The silly dreams that you had about getting married was finally coming true.Β
βIβll owl Rosmerta. If she doesnβt say yes then weβll just have the ceremony at the Burrow. Now, for the caterer. Anyone have any ideas?β You began to search the the table for anything that could lead you to a great caterer.Β
βWhat about Glenn Powers? Isnβt she the owner of that one restaurant you like?β Remus picked up a photo of a short and round noirette woman. She had her arms corossed while the stove behind her blew up. The photo was intimidating as was she.Β
βGlenn Powers? You mean the best and most expensive chef in all of the Wizarding World. Sheβll kill us before we get the chance to speak to her.β Both of your eyebrows rose in surprise. There was no way that you could get Glenn Powers to cater your wedding.Β
βHow much does she usually cost?β Sirius asked as he searched his pockets for his Gringotts vault key.Β
βUsually 1,000 Galleons,β Remus gulped when he heard the price while Sirius only shrugged. There was absolutely no way that someone could pay that much money for someone else to make food.Β
βItβs fine. We can afford it,β Sirius said as he leaned back in his chair.Β
βAre you sure you want to spend 1,000 Galleons on fancy food?β Remus looked very surprised that Sirius was willing to spend that much money. Remus felt a twinge of jealousy rose within his chest. He wished that he could provide for you and Sirius the same way Sirius provided for you and him.Β
βIβm trying to get rid of my parents dirty money. The more I spend, the better,β Sirius took a sip of his red wine.Β
βWhy donβt you save some of it? Thatβs what a responsible adult would do,β you challenged. You thought that it was absolutely childish that Sirius was spending his money like a teen that just got their first job. It was incredibly irresponsible but it wasnβt your money and you had zero control over it.Β
βSince when was I responsible?β Sirius put his Gringotts key back into one of his shirt pockets.Β
There was another chef that was within your price range. Edith Edens is more approachable and less expensive than Glenn Powers. βWhat about her? Her names is Edith Edens and sheβs just as good as Ms. Powers and she charges only 20 gallons.β
βWay more affordable,β Remus whispered as he glanced at the picture of Edith mixing various ingredients together.Β
βWeβre going with Edith Edens then?β Sirius questioned. You and Remus nodded your heads.Β
βWell the ceremony and catering is settled. Next up is last names,β you looked at the list in front of you. Youβd forgotten that there was a check list of things that you needed to figure out before the wedding. βI want to keep my last name. I kind of like it.β
βWe could hyphenate our last names. Evans-Lupin-Black.β
βI actually really like that,β Sirius nodded his head. Sirius really wasnβt a huge fan of his last name. The negative connotations that many had of it always made him insecure. There was something about all of your last names mixed together that made him feel better about his own surname.Β
βThatβs settled the last name debacle. Next, what are you two wearing?β You scribble something onto you list.Β
βAh, ah, ah,β Remus waved his finger around, βif we canβt see what youβre wearing then you canβt see what weβre wearing.βΒ
βFine,β you rolled your eyes. You were really amused with this whole wedding planning process. The wedding was getting closer and closer with each passing day. It was three months away but those three months felt closer than ever.Β
βBest man?β
βHarry,β Remus and Sirius said at the same time. βBest woman?β Sirius asked you.
βItβs called a maid of honor and itβs Molly Weasley,β you answered.Β
βHave you figured out whoβs going to walk you down the isle?β Remus questioned you. You really hadnβt put into thought who would walk you down the isle.Β
βI think I might want to walk myself down the aisle. My father would roll in his grave if he found out that I let someone other than him walk me down the aisle.β
Your father was a man that liked traditional things. He liked schedules and morning rituals. He also loved his daughters. He would have given Petunia, you, and Lily the world of it youβd asked for it. He was a lovely man who deserved to see all of his daughters get married. You were honestly kind of jealous of Petunia and Lily. Both of them had the chance to get walked down the aisle by your father while you had to walk down all by yourself. At least you would have your mothers dress as a symbol that they were still there with you in spirit.
βWell,β Sirius clapped his hands together, βI think thatβs enough wedding planning for today.βΒ
βOkay, just to check with everyone. Itβs a go for the ceremony being at the Three Broomsticks then the reception at the Burrow. Catering will be from Edith Edens and our new official last names will be Evans-Lupin-Black. Harry is your best man, Molly is my maid of honor and I will walk myself down the aisle,β you read off everything you had on your list, checking off things as you went.Β
βTheme! We need to chose a theme,β Remus chewed on his lip. Most of the weddings heβd been to all had a theme.Β
βThat can wait. What I really want to do is to go to sleep,β Sirius glanced at the clock on the wall. He pushed his chair back and walked out of the dining room. His steps could be heard walking up the stairs and into the bedroom.Β
βIβll stay down here and clean up. You go upstairs and rest up,β Remus motioned with his head for you to leave.Β
βAre you sure, Rem? You look pretty tired. No offense,β your eyes widened a bit as you realized what you had just said.Β
Remus chuckled, βitβs fine, love. Now, go to sleep,β he reached over the table and patted your head. You closed your eyes on contact and relished in the comfort of his warm hand.Β
Your walked up the stairs and into the bedroom. Sirius was laying on the bed half asleep. You changed into your pajamas and climbed into bed. Sirius wrapped his arms around you and brought you into his warmth.Β
Soon enough the dreams that you had of getting married would finally come true
