Written in the Stars

THE green light flashed. The reflection of the spell bounced around the glass orb-covered room. You didn’t see who the spell was directed at but the sight of the green light made goosebumps form all over your skin. You didn’t turn around. You just couldn’t. There was still more fighting to do. 

Harry’s piercing scream filled the room. It caused the orbs on the high shelves to rattle. Death Eaters swarmed members of the order. Order members were far more skilled in combat which helped them in times like this. 

Remus let go of your hand and ran over to Harry. With all the strength he had left, he held him back. If Harry was anything like James, he would go out there and face whoever hurt his friends and family. Harry didn’t have to do this alone. He didn’t have to bear the burden that was fighting a war at the age of fifteen.  

The air was filled with the sounds of Death Eaters disapparating all around you. Their very existence reminded you that Voldemort was back. The Wizarding World wasn’t safe anymore. No one was safe. 

You slowly turned around. Harry was being held back by Remus. The younger boy was struggling in Remus’s grasp. His round glasses were foggy with tears. 

“Harry, there’s no point in going after her. What’s done is done,” Sirius sighed as he put a hand on his godson’s shoulder. You surveyed Sirius’s face. He was crying. Tears streamed down his solemn face. 

Your eyes looked frantically around the room. All of the members of the order were gathered around a body on the floor. The once bright and bubbly expression on her face was gone. Her skin which was once a nice tan color was now sickly and pale. You pushed the people away from her body not caring who they were or what they were doing. You kneeled down next to her head. Your shaking hand carded its way through her bubblegum pink hair. 

Nymphadora Tonks was dead.
