RAIN drops danced on the window of Remusโ€™s quarters. The cold Scottish winter seeped into the walls and into the bedroom. The sound of rain comforted you. Winter was by far one of your favorite seasons. The red and orange fire roared in the brick fireplace in the center of the room.ย

Remus laid in bed with his arm behind his head. You laid your head on his chest, listening to his beating heart. The sheets covered your naked bodies after the two of you just did an act that would make even the devil blush. The warmth of his chest and the fire provided you with enough warmth to convince your body that it was summer instead of a harsh cold winter.ย

โ€œLove,โ€ your head moved as Remus spoke, โ€œDo you want to know what Severus taught my students when I was out?โ€ย

You lifted your chin to look at him. His eyes looked down at you, โ€œWhat did he teach them? How to properly watch their hair because I think that is way too advanced for him. He canโ€™t even do it himself.โ€ย

โ€œYou know that I do love your humor but this is serious,โ€ Remus spoke in a tone that made you worry. He continued, โ€œThe moment I step into my classroom there is a stack of essays on my desk on how to identify and kill a werewolf.โ€ย

Your head shot up instantly, and the sheets covering your body slipped off of you, revealing your naked body. Remus glanced down at them and then back up at you. You jumped off of the bed and scrambled to put your clothes back on.ย

โ€œWhere are you going?โ€ Remus whined.ย

Your boobs were giggling while you jumped up and down, trying to get into your trousers, โ€œTo have a little chat,โ€ you retrieved your bra from the floor, clipped it into place, and slipped your purple jumper on, โ€œWith our dear friend Severus.โ€ย

As you were tying the strings on your shoes, you heard the familiar creek of the bed and the soft sound of Remusโ€™s feet walking towards you. He put his hand on your shoulder, โ€œWhatโ€™s done is done,โ€ he said, โ€œThe best we can do is hope that no one is smart enough to make the connection.โ€ย

โ€œI need to put him in his place. He needs to know that-โ€ Remus cut you off.ย

โ€œJust stay with me,โ€ he ran his hands down from your shoulders to your arms and snaked them around your waist, โ€œI need you.โ€ย

You weighed over your options, you could go out and confront the bastard thatโ€™s trying to get one of the men you love killed or you could stay here and get fucked by said man. Choosing the latter, you kicked off your shoes and giggled as you put your forehead on Remusโ€™s chest. Let's just say that the snow wasnโ€™t the only reason why the windows in Remusโ€™s quarters were foggy.ย

While you were getting the brains fucked out of you, Harry gazed up at the teacher's stand, his glasses filling up with rain droplets making his vision blurry. Even though he couldnโ€™t see that well, he was still able to wipe the water off of his glasses. Harry wasnโ€™t mad when he didnโ€™t see you or Remus in the stand, he was disappointed. He finally felt like he had a chance at a real family that would support him and cheers him on not just because he was Harry Potter: The Boy Who Lived, but because he was Harry Potter: his own person who didnโ€™t want to be associated with the thing that got his parents killed. ย

Harry had shared the news of what happened during the quidditch match. You were sorry for him, you knew that his team captain, Oliver Wood, was particularly hard on his teammates due to the fact that it was his seventh and last year at Hogwarts. You were also sorry for Harry because his broom had been torn to pieces by the whomping willow because of Harryโ€™s nasty fall caused by the dementors that still roamed the ground of the castle. That made you feel like an incredibly bad aunt who chose to get fucked by one of her partners instead of supporting her nephew. ย

Due to the dementors tormenting Harry during the quidditch game, Harry requested if he could have private lessons with Remus during the holidays. Due to Harry being your nephew, Remus forwarded you the message, letting you join him in the lesson.ย

Harry walked into the History of Magic classroom to see you and Remus sitting very close to each other. Maybe the rumors he heard were true. Maybe his aunt and Professor Lupin were dating and trying to keep it a secret.ย

โ€œProfessor Lupin, auntie,โ€ he made his presence known, โ€œIโ€™m here for my lesson.โ€ You smiled at Harry and Remus motioned for Harry to come closer.ย

โ€œYou're sure about this, Harry? This is very advanced magic. Well beyond Ordinary Wizarding Level,โ€ Remus gets up from his seat next to you while you kept sitting. This time was for Remus to teach Harry something that would be useful way beyond his Hogwarts years.ย

โ€œ If Black can fight the Dementors, I need to know how too,โ€ Harry pulled his wand out of his coat pocket.ย

โ€œVery well. The spell I'm going to teach you is called the Patronus Charm. Ever hear of it?โ€ Harry shakes his head.ย
โ€œA Patronus is a kind of positive force. For the wizard who can conjure one, the Patronus works something like a shield. The Dementor feeds on it instead of him,โ€ the trunk holding the boggart that is going to be used for this lesson begins to rattle violently, โ€œBut in order for it to work, you must think of a memory. And not just any. This memory needs to be a very happy one. And powerful.โ€ย

Remus waits for Harry and then says, โ€œ Got something? Good. Let it fill you up. Lose yourself in it. Then speak the incantation: Expecto Patronum. Without your wand.โ€

You watch as Harry tires the spell for the first time then a second time with his wand. Remus opens the rattling trunk and lets the boggart out. The room goes cold, the candles and torches that are lit flicker on the wall, and you hear a thud. You were too busy looking at the flickering torches on the wall that you didnโ€™t notice your nephew fainting. Merlin, if Lily knew how much of a bad aunt and godmother you were she was sure to haunt you. You immediately get up from your chair and rush over to Harry. You kneel down beside him and try to wake him up.ย

โ€œWhat in the bloody hell did you do, Remus?!โ€ย

โ€œI didnโ€™t do anything wrong. Heโ€™s just overwhelmed,โ€ Remus said and with a crack, the dementor turns into a silvery-white orb and goes back into the trunk.

Remus stands a dazed Harry up and gives him a small square of chocolate. Harry takes a bite and visibly begins to recover, โ€œThat's one nasty Dementor.โ€
โ€œBoggart, Harry. The real thing would be much, much worse. Just out of interest, what were you
thinking of? What memory did you choose?โ€ Harry then goes on to tell Remus that he thought of the first time he rode a broom. Remus interjects, โ€œThat's not good enough, Harry. Not nearly.โ€ย

โ€œThere's another. It's not happy exactly. I mean, it is. It's the happiest I've ever felt. But it's... complicated.โ€

โ€œIs it strong?โ€ Harry nods and Remus tells harry to try it. Harry tries it. A silvery-white light emerges from Harryโ€™s wand. Heโ€™s done it and Remus vanishes the dementor back into the trunk.ย

You jump up and down, clapping your hands with glee, โ€œHe did it! Harry, you did it!โ€

โ€œ So you know, Harry: You'd have given your father a run for his money. And, believe me, that's saying something,โ€ Remus laughs softly.

โ€œ I was thinking of him. And Mum. Seeing their faces. They're just talking to me. Just... talking. That was the memory I chose. I don't even know if it's real,โ€ Harry looks at you, โ€œBut it's the best I have.โ€

โ€œHarry, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask,โ€ you offered.ย

โ€œI do have one,โ€ Harry looks at both you and Remus but his eyes settle on Remus.ย

โ€œAre you and my aunt together?โ€ he asked with a smirk on his face. He really was his father's son.ย

You gulped and looked at Remus who was already looking at you, also with a smirk on his face, โ€œYou want to tell him, or am I going to have to?โ€ Remus asked.

You rolled your eyes and looked at Harry, โ€œHow did you know?โ€

โ€œWell, whenever youโ€™re around people know that Professor Lupin isnโ€™t more than two steps behind, when I invited you both to the quidditch game, you both werenโ€™t there, and there was a rumor going around that students found you two in a...very compromising position,โ€ Harry blushed while your eyes grew wide with every word that came out of Harryโ€™s mouth.ย

โ€œWhat rumor?โ€ you raised your eyebrow.

โ€œWell, they said that you were sitting on Professor Lupinโ€™s lap when they came into the class the day we learned about boggarts.โ€ย

โ€œFine, fine, fine, fine! We are together but itโ€™s a complicated situation that I canโ€™t really explain to you right now.โ€ you gave in and told Harry about you and Remus. Remus put his arm around your shoulder and pulled you close. It felt so much better to not have to hide your relationship around Harry. You didn't want people to know about the two of you because you wanted a mostly private life.

โ€œHow long have you two been together?โ€ three, how long have you three been together you wanted to correct him but you knew that would take a lot more explaining to do. Especially since the third partner was an escaped convict that is believed to be a traitor and a murderer.ย

You began to count the years on your fingers but Remus answered the question instantly, โ€œEighteen years. Ever since we were in our fifth year.โ€ Bloody fucking hell was that a lot. You knew you and Remus and Sirius were together for a long time but eighteen years went by really fast. Granted, Sirius wasnโ€™t there for most of the relationship but he was just as much a part of this relationship as you and Remus were.ย

โ€œEighteen years and you two still arenโ€™t married?โ€ย

โ€œHarry I think itโ€™s time for dinner. You should get going,โ€ Remus lead Harry out of the door and closed it behind him.ย

โ€œWell, eighteen years and weโ€™re still not married,โ€ you laughed and crossed your arms. You didn't mind not being married at all. You knew that there was no one else for you besides Remus and Sirius and you were pretty sure they felt the same way. They had eighteen years to run away if they did. Unfortunately, a special someone has been locked away for twelve of those years.ย

โ€œYou know we promised Sirius we wouldnโ€™t get married without him.โ€ย

โ€œI know, I know, I know,โ€ you shook your head while you looked at your feet.ย

โ€œHey,โ€ Remus made you look up at him, his hand grabbing your chin, โ€œI still love you too, ring or no ring, married or not.โ€ย

โ€œI love you too.โ€
