Written in the Stars

YOUR first day as a professor had been a breeze. The students were good and the subject was even better.  The day had gone by so fast and it was now the afternoon. Now, you and Remus were walking alongside the black lake. 

“And how was your day my love?” Remus asked. 

“It was great honestly. And yours?” you replied carefully watching your step. 

“Good” the two of you walked in silence after that. The silence wasn’t awkward. The two of you just wanted to take in the beauty of castle grounds before returning back to the castle. 

“Remus,” he looked at you, “I know this might sound silly and really uncalled for but what’ll happen if Sirius comes back to us?”

“He’ll fit right in, just like he did before he left us,” Remus answered. Just as he said that a black dog appeared just a few feet in front of the two of you. That dog looked awfully familiar. The dog does nothing but stare at the two Hogwarts professors. 

“Are you seeing what I’m seeing?” you said, not taking your eyes off of the black dog who was now wagging its tail. 

Remus doesn’t respond. Instead, he grabs your hand and turns around, pulling you into the direction of the castle. As Remus is pulling you away from the animal, you glance over your shoulder to see the familiar black dog walk away in the opposite direction.
