Harry Potter story Idea
A/N: Another Story idea I had, this one is set in the Harry Potter World with one change that can have vast consequences. Again posted on FF.net under Overkord and over on Archive of Our Own under ShiniCho.
Hagrid Father to a Potter
Please note this story needs to feature abusive/evil Adult Dursleys (Dudley is too young at the start to actually be guilty of things). It also features a resigned to Killing Harry Greater Good Dumbledore who knows what is happening to Harry and sees it as the only way to achieve the goal of getting rid of Voldemort for good. (If you want to go farther and actually do a smart manipulative evil dumbledore please do.)
This Story Follows the idea of Hagrid being a bit smarter and concerned with Harry’s well being. Basically Hagrid being one of the few People to actually know the location of Harry comes to visit him on his 7th Birthday as it is magically significant to the wizarding world, it is also the birthday that Witches and Wizards are first able to take on a familiar as their magic is stable enough to form the bond (Not canon). He is even doing this against Dumbledore's wishes as he knows that Dumbledore isn’t always right. Hagrid then comes across Harry being mistreated, and abused by the Dursleys (Petunia and Vernon specifically) and for the moment puts a stop to it and takes Harry away for the day. However he knows that he now needs help as he can’t just abduct a child. However luckily Hagrid has been at Hogwarts for many years and has made many connections with all types of people including ones that were friends to Harry’s parents and would want to help (where else did he get all the photos for the album he gave.
From Here the writer has a couple of avenues to choose from on who Hagrid contacts.
Newt Scamander and Tina Goldstein (mutual friends for their love of magical creatures) (also the first choice i had when thinking of this story)
Andromeda and Ted Tonks
Xenophilius Lovegood
Amelia Bones
Any or all of these people are acceptable as long as Hagrid gets help and ultimately ends up with either Partial or total custody of Harry Potter. In the example with Newt and Tina being contacted Hagrid would actually leave Hogwarts and work as Newt's Assistant while having them help raise Harry.
Thats all i really got so far.
Pairings are again open although i am partial to Harry/Hermione or Harry/Luna or a Harry/Hermione/Luna for this one as i think with harry being saved by Hagrid he would have a more interest in Magic and specifically Magical creatures and would have advanced knowledge about them before attending hogwarts which would draw him to being a bit more of an academic.
