The Battle Commences
“Y/n/n!” cried Ginny, running to hug you as soon as she saw you. “Hey Gin!” you say, smiling despite yourself. “Look-” You were going to ask had she seen Tonks, but before you could say anything, a Death Eater jumped out from behind a wall and started sending a string of curses at you and Ginny. By the time you had finally put an end to the Death Eater you are covered from head to toe in cuts and bruises. “We did it!” you say to Ginny, then you sink down the wall onto the floor, completely out of breath and unable to support your own weight anymore. Ginny looks at her watch and then exclaims “We were battling that guy for like, an hour! I’m not sure if that shows that we’re good at duelling or not?” You laugh faintly and say “So, I was going to ask you, have you seen Tonks?” “I saw her at the very beginning, she was looking for Remus, but I haven’t seen her since” she says back, giving you a sympathetic look. You have a really bad feeling about this. “Ginny! Oh there you are, I’ve been looking for you everywhere, I thought something bad had happened to you! Oh, hi Y/n, didn’t see you there.” For a moment you thought you had imagined the voice, but you realised you hadn’t when you saw Hermione crouch down beside you. “Are you ok? You aren’t hurt are you?” she says, in the concerned tone you often hear in her voice. “No, no I’m fine, just exhausted.” you laugh, smiling softly at Hermione. “Didn’t you hear the call for pause in the battle?” Hermione said, looking from Ginny, to you and back to Ginny. “It was deafening!” “We were a bit too busy trying not to be killed, so no, not exactly.” Hermione looked concerned, but said “I’m going helping looking for bodies, we could use some help, if you want?” You nod and say “Yeah, that’s fine.” and Ginny agrees too. You force yourself up onto your feet despite the pain it caused, and start looking.
