Chapter 11
The next two days of classes went normally enough, except for the reporters constantly sitting outside the doors and trying to interview anyone and everyone that passed through them.
Yumi and Shinso finally had their assessment by Aizawa-sensei and they apparently did well enough that their teacher was impressed, not that he showed it.
Aizawa even went so far as to arrange one-on-one training sessions with Shinso, who he felt he could teach a lot of things. Yumi was invited to take part in them when she wanted.

The time came to choose the class president and almost everyone wanted to be it. Luckily, Yumi’s little group wasn’t interested, so she didn’t have to take part in all the drama about to unfold.
She didn’t protest when Izuku and Yaoyorozu were chosen as president and vice-president, but she also didn’t vote for them. Personally, she’d not vote until she’d assessed her classmates a little more.
And then the evacuation started.
Apparently someone had infiltrated the school and they were all put on alert and told to evacuate.
Luckily, Yumi and her friends had been having lunch outside, with Todoroki joining them upon her invitation, when it happened.
“What should we do?” asked Shinso, looking around.
The school grounds didn’t have as many people as the cafeteria, it being one of the reasons they had chosen to eat out, but there were still people running around and panicking.
“It seems like it’s just the press.” Pointed out Dark Shadow, having got out on Fumikage’s orders to see above the UA barrier and sticking to the tree’s shadow.
“Calm them down and then get them to go to their class as orderly as possible.” Answered Yumi getting up and dusting off her uniform.
The boys nodded and they did just that.
It wasn’t as surprising when later, upon repeating the voting session to select a class president on Midoriya’s prompting, she got chosen as vice-president.

Classes resumed normally, even though Yumi noticed the teachers were more alert than usual.
The next day, with her father’s permission, she invited her new friends over to her house for the afternoon. She baked in preparation of their arrival and they ate her cookies whilst playing some board games.
Her father was pretty proud of her, even if they were all boys.
Soon, they were talking about their Quirks. Fumikage had been born with it, as had Shoji, but Kirishima discovered his at around four years old when he lifted his father in the air, Shinso discovered his at five when he asked his teacher for a new crayon and Yumi had been a late bloomer. She explained how they’d thought she was quirkless.
She’d invited Kirishima because the boy had been present when she asked the others and she didn’t want to exclude him; not that she regretted it: the boy was a riot to be around.
All in all, it was a fun afternoon and Yumi decided to have a repeat as soon as she could get away with it.

Rescue training arrived a couple days later and they rode a bus out of campus and to the USJ.
There, they were met by the rescue hero Thirteen, who explained about his Quirk ―Black Hole― and the training they would be doing. How they would learn to use even their most destructive Quirks in order to save people.
Just then, as if on cue, they appeared.
Real life villains.
Aizawa-sensei immediately ordered an evacuation, leaving Thirteen in charge, and launched himself forward.
Yumi admitted she got a little bit lost in the moment: watching Eraserhead in action was fascinating. He erased the villain’s Quirks, his glasses hiding his eyes and therefore not letting anyone know which Quirk he was targeting, before using his combat scarf to tie up and incapacitate them.
Tenya’s voice shook her out and Izuku from their daydreaming and they run with the others towards the exit.
She still couldn’t help one last look back, worried. Aizawa-sensei, as strong as he was, was only one man and she was more aware than most that Pro Heroes were human too.
But it seemed she should have been more worried for themselves, as a black-bluish hole appeared on the ground on their path to the door.
It was the first villain, the one who’s appeared first and brought all the other ones with him. He seemed to have some kind of teleportation Quirk.
Soon enough she had her confirmation as they were enveloped in darkness and dropped out all over the training grounds.

Shinso grabbed onto Yumi as soon as darkness started to spread around them and they both found themselves dropping from the sky and towards the hard ground.
A solid mass of darkness wrapped around their hands and they slowed down considerably, their momentum changed so they dropped into water instead of dirt.
Shinso scrambled to get Yumi out and he grabbed her shoulders, shaky and wet as he was.
But Yumi was not looking at him.
Her eyes were on the ground, covered by her wet red hair and her fists clenched at her sides. She was shaking too, though it was not because of cold.
“Yumi-hime?”
The girl finally looked up, blazing green eyes meeting his own, and he almost stepped back at the rage reflected in them.
“They want to kill my daddy.” She whispered.
Shinso understood and he squeezed her shoulders once before straightening.
“Well, we won’t let them, will we?” he asked.
Then someone run up to them. Fumikage, panting, approached them as fast as he could, Dark Shadow blending back into his body after having helped them.
“Yumi-hime! Shinso-kun! Are you alright?”
“We’re fine. Thanks to you.” Answered Yumi pulling herself together. “Did you see any of the others?”
“I saw Midoriya, Asui and Mineta fall into the ocean simulation; they should be fine, Asui is in her element there. Todoroki stopped his descent with his ice, he’s in that direction.” He said pointing towards the mountain they were close to. Koda and Ashido where close to that storm.” He said pointing in a direction farther from them. “I didn’t see Shoji or Tenya or any of the others.”
“What do we do?” asked Shinso looking at her and repeating the question from a few days ago.
That reminded her of the evacuation and some pieces started to click together.
“They are probably responsible for the intrusion of the press into UA.” She mused aloud. “That’s how they got the information about UA’s timetables. I think we should go get Todoroki first, if he’s as close as you think, and then we can think of some way to…”
But she was interrupted by a snide voice from behind them, the three teens tensing at their near soundless arrival.
“Well, well, well, what do we have here?” muttered a villain licking their lips and looking at them.
“A group of snotty-nosed heroes, it seems.” Answered another.
“Come here, little heroes, let me have a closer look at your delicious bodies…”
Yumi shuddered at the creepy words, but she exchanged a quick look with her friends before they turned to the villains.
“It’s four against two, are you sure you like the odds?” asked Shinso with hooded eyes.
“I only see three-” started to say one before freezing.
At almost the same time, Dark Shadow launched itself out of Fumikage and towards the other one. Whilst Dark Shadow smothered the villain in its grip, Shinso took a step forward.
“Look into her eyes.” He ordered to the idiot who’d answered him.
And the villain turned to look into bright green eyes before falling limp to the floor.
Fumikage approached and carefully took their pulses.
“He’s not breathing.”
“Don’t worry, he’s not dead.” Answered Shinso with a careless shrug.
“He’s just paralysed. Everything about him is, including his very organs. That’s why he’s not breathing. He’ll recover in about… twenty minutes?” explained Yumi.
Fumikage knew about her power from their afternoon at her house, but knowing and seeing were two different things.
“Is that the same power you used on Yaoyorozu in the combat training?”
Yumi nodded. Fumikage threw one last look at the frozen villain.
“Cool.” Was all he said.
