Just his luck
Sirius and Remus were talking in the common room when James burst through the doors "I FUCKING HATE FIRST YEARS!" James threw him self on the couch besides the pair.
Sirius and Remus looked at each other then at James "Are you going to tell us why?" Remus pushed James head off his arm as he spoke, clearly not bothered by James' antics.
"A FIRST YEAR TOOK MY PLACE AS SEEKER!" James dramatically sobbed as he screamed the words, suddenly he stopped and looked at Sirius "Padfootttt my favourite frienddddd, my bestest of best friendsssssss"
"I'm right here Prongs." Remus glared at James
"Yeah yeah, anyway, Pads, is your brother interested in Quidditch at all?" James said with a suspiciously hopeful tone in his voice.
"Think he's interested in something- someone- else on the quidditch field and not the sport" Lily snorted from across the room as she walked over "I'm awfully observant, Sirius' little brother has had his eyes on someoneeee" Lily teased
"Reggie? Liking someone? He can't even speak to girls let alone date one" Sirius laughed then turned to face James "But anyway, he isn't interested at all, and you're not using him in your revenge scheme, they haven't kicked you off the team completely have they?" Sirius questioned
"Welllll no they just made me a chaser instead" James whined "BUT its not as important as Seeker!" James fake cried as he spoke before standing up "I'm gonna go find Reggie, I'll be back laterrrr" James walked out the common room
"He actually does strut doesn't he-" Lily said as she watched James leave the room "I thought everyone was joking when they said that but my god James Potter actually does strut-" She laughed
James burst into the Slytherin common room dramatically "Where is Regulus Black!" The whole of the slytherin common room looked at him with a glare, a few scoffing, and two of them paying no attention as they were too busy kissing each other, James looked at them
"BARTY! EVAN! Remus' favourite little Slytherin friendssss" James pulled them apart placing a hand on each of their shoulders.
The pair looked unimpressed as they looked at James "What do you want James, we're busy can't you see that? or do you need stronger glasses." Barty spoke as he wiped his mouth
"Rude, but anyway, you haven't seen little Reggie have you?" James asked
Barty looked at Evan then back at James "Do you mean Regulus?" Barty said as he looked towards a hallway in the slytherin dorms "He went that way, he was talking with Severus when we seen him, whats your business with him anyway? leave the poor boy alone Potter"
James rolled his eyes "If you must know, I'm gonna train him to be your seeker. Thanks anyway, byeeee" James walked down the hallway using the Lumos spell to create light
"Trust it to be the Slytherins with a dark hallway" James muttered as he turned a corner seeing Severus and Regulus, James stared at them as he seen how Severus had Regulus pinned against the wall
James gritted his teeth as he pointed the wand at Severus "Stupefy!" James called out, Severus hit the ground unconscious, James lowered his wand "You okay Reg?" James walked over "What was that about?"
"He was just shouting at me as usual, he's a prick" Regulus lied as he looked to James "What are you doing here anyway?" Regulus spoke as he stepped over Severus
"Oh right!" James grabbed Regulus' hand and pulled him down the corridor and out the Slytherin common room
"James?" Regulus stumbled behind him as he was pulled outside "What are we doing?" Regulus looked around as they reached the Quidditch field "Why are we here?"
James passed Regulus a broom then ran inside, he came back out a few moments later with the box Regulus had seen during the Quidditch match, the one containing the Golden Snitch, Quaffles and Bludgers "Uhhh James? What's going on?"
"I'm going to make you the best Seeker Slytherin has ever had" James said out of breath "Merlin that box ways a ton" James sighed out "Anyway, mount your broom"
"Oh no- no- James I don't play sports" Regulus held his hands up in surrender as he backed away from the broom
"Nonsense!" James laughed as he pulled Regulus onto the broom, as soon as Regulus mounted the broom it shot up, Regulus screaming as he held onto the broom
"Shit-" James quickly mounted his broom and went up after Regulus, he grabbed hold of Regulus hand stopping him from moving "Are you okay?" James held back his laughter as he looked at Regulus' terrified expression
"I ALMOST DIED" Regulus was now squeezing James' hand as James laughed so hard he was almost crying "It's not funny James! This is just my luck getting dragged out here by you! Of course I almost died! Ya know everyone in Slytherin warned me that you'd get me killed!!"
James continued laughing as he looked at Regulus "Reggie, You're fine honestly! trust me okay? just relax, the more tense you are the more likely things will go wrong" James kept hold of Regulus' hand as he guided him back down to the ground
"Maybe I should give you a flight lesson first" James smiled as they reached the ground "And um, Reggie, you can let go of my hand now, we're on the ground" Regulus looked at James then at their hands causing him to quickly let go and wipe his hand on his shirt
"I take so much offense to that, my hands aren't gross that was uncalled for" James chuckled as Regulus shot him a glare
"If you get me killed out here I'll make sure you never hear the end of it from Sirius!" Regulus said as he stayed sat on the now levitating broom which is inches above James who is sat side ways smiling at the fact Regulus hasn't noticed they've come off the ground again.
"I'm sure I wouldn't hear the end of it regardless" James rolled his eyes jokingly "Anyway, we're off the ground Reggie, see I told you that you'd be fine!"
Regulus looked down at the ground then at James then at the ground again "I didn't even notice-" Regulus spoke as he looked at James once again "I thought we were still on the ground"
"Like I said, just relax, I wouldn't have let anything happen to you Reg, it's just your luck that I'm the one teaching you" He laughed as he looked at Regulus' smile, James began to smile as well "Anyway, lets get on to teaching you how to fly properly before you get yourself killed" James laughed once again before starting his lesson on flight, which would be followed by his lesson on Quidditch
