Remus
Remus sat with his head in his hands on his bed. His suspicions had been confirmed and of course James had noticed. He promised not to tell Sirius, and even though the two were like brothers, James never broke his promises, so Remus trusted him not to.
This meant that James had to listen to Remus freak out about Sirius.
“What am I going to do James, he's my best mate, there's no way he likes me like that. Why can't you just tell me what you know!” he wailed.
“You know I can't Remus, would you want me to tell him how you feel?” James said.
“No, I guess not” he said with a sigh.
“ Wait here a sec I need to get something” the other boy said, standing and leaving the room.
Remus went back to moping, which was quite unlike him, but he was frustrated, okay? The worst thing was he couldn't even talk to Sirius about it,for obvious reasons, or Peter because then Sirius would be left out. It was all just so annoying.
“Here” James stated. Nudging the door open with his foot and dumping a pile of chocolate onto the bed.
“Chocolate always cheers you up, right?”
Remus smiled, reaching towards one of the bars. James knew him too well.
“What do you even like about Sirius anyways, Remus” he asked.
Remus sighed.
“What do I not like about him? I like how he always knows how to make me laugh, how he smiles, the way he's such a drama queen, the way he sings queen too, actually. I like how he's actually so smart and as much of a show off as he is, you'd never know, and I-”
The door that James left slightly ajar was suddenly flung open. Sirius was standing there, tears on his face.
Ah shite.
“Sirius” he managed to get out before he was almost knocked over in a hug.
“Moony” Sirius said into his shoulder.
“That's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said about me”
Remus was a little confused. His friend just found out he was practically in love with him and he still wanted to talk to him?
“You aren't..mad?” he probed.
Sirius laughed.
“Why would I be mad? It would be pretty odd of me to be mad that the guy I loved liked me back”
Remus stared at him. The guy he what?
“And as touching as this has all been, I think that is my cue to leave” James piped up. Remus jumped. He had forgotten James was there.
“You have the dorm for another hour, I've already warned Pete” he called as he left with a smile. While Remus turned to face Sirius, both wearing matching grins.
He found out later that when James went to get the chocolate, he also went to get Sirius and told him to stand outside and listen. Honestly it didn't surprise him. He got them together without breaking his word, and Remus would always be thankful for it.
Where would they be without James?
