Summary
Harry knew he didn't put his name in the Goblet of Fire, but no one believes him, except for Hermione. Ron abandoned him when he needed him the most and everyone was out to get him for wanting fame, which he never wanted it in the first place. He was done with the wizarding world. He thought he found a place where he belonged, but it turned out the world was against him from the very start. He wanted to leave for good, but how?Well Harry found a loophole in the Triwizard Tournament. Two actually.1. A magical guardian can withdraw the unwilling champion.2. A blood relative - any blood relative, even a distant relative, can take him out of the tournament if they think Harry was put there against his will. But there is just a couple of problems; It turned out that Dumbledore is his magical guardian and he would wanted Harry to participate in the tournament, which means Dumbledore has control over everything Harry has and is keeping everything tight lip. Also there was no way the Dursley's would help him. They would likely see him die in that death tournament. If he doesn't participate, he would loose his magic for good.

Author's note (again...)

It has come to my attention that a certain commentor in my latest chapter who couldn't enjoy the story because of Bernard and was questioning why he didn't want to do this and that. Well, I'm here to answer these questions than writing the next chapter so be thankful you're using my time to address it.

1. Why couldn't Bernard call Kreacher to save him from the Death Eaters?

Hmm...well, I could ask the same thing in the original Harry Potter books. Why didn't Harry call for Kreacher to help them escape the Ministry and Malfoy Manor, even though he has Dobby? Wouldn't that make sense for Harry to have two house elves to help them escape than only one? Who wait, Aberforth was the one who sent Dobby to them, not Harry! Even Harry didn't realized he could have a house elf to be sent to him!

Now, my actual answer, I don't know if it's too hard to understand, but Bernard does see Kreacher as a family member and he knew who Kreacher had been through. Which means Bernard doesn't want Kreacher to get hurt. Do you think Bernard would want Kreacher to face the people who Regulus used to support, tried to get out of it, and died? I don't think so.

Ironically, I was going to explain this answer in the next chapter, but I guess I have to say it here.

2. Bernard is supposedly the best curse-breaker, why didn't the goblins protect him from getting kidnapped? No protection amulet? No Kreacher to use magic to protect him?

Well, I could ask the same question about Harry and why he didn't get any protection because of his Boy-Who-Lived status? Who wait, he did, but looked how that turned out!

Every.

Single.

School year.

I can even asked why didn't the goblins help/protect Bill when he got attacked by Greyback, so he wouldn't have werewolf side effects.

Now, my actual answer. Bernard is a curse-breaker, not an auror. Hell, he's not the member of the Order of the Phoenix's. Aurors fight dark wizards, curse-breakers fights curses. Members of the Order of the Phoenix also fight Death Eaters aka - dark wizards! I always thought this was self explanatory, but frankly I have to explain it.

Also, do I have to remind people why Bernard was in the UK? A colleague of his got curse and sent to St. Mungos. Going to St. Mungos cost money and who pays for the curse-breakers to be treated if they do get themselves curse? The goblins! When goblins say they protect their own, which means they protect them from curses that can potentially kill them and pay for the cost to get them treated.

They are not psychics that someone well known would get kidnapped by Death Eaters.

Like in my other answer, I was going to explain this in the next chapter, but here we go again.

I am so sorry that Bernard didn't thought he would be kidnapped by Death Eaters. Considering the fact everything he needed to do, it didn't cross his mind. Also, anyone with a brain would noticed that Voldemort/Death Eaters didn't go after him until the news broke out.

Meaning, he's Harry's relative.

To lure Harry out of hiding.

To get his body back.

Do I really have to spell it out?

Of course they could gone after him because of the horcruxes, but let's face it. In the books Voldemort himself didn't realized his horcruxes were being destroyed until he went back for the locket, so what made you think he might realize it now?

Or maybe both.

Also here is the thing - any wizard would've been caught off guard that Death Eaters were ambushing them. Harry, Ron, and Hermione were chased by Death Eaters too! Why didn't they call Dobby or Kreacher? Oh, wait they didn't! So what makes Bernard so different? He's freaking human and it's a normal human reaction. He's not special. Bernard is just someone who knows how to do his job as a curse-breaker.

Also, I have to say this again, he is a curse-breaker! Not an auror. Aurors will use protection amulet and magical objects to protect themselves from dark wizards, even the Order of the Phoenix from Death Eaters. Bernard is a curse-breaker and he uses magical objects to protect himself from curses.

He's. Not. An. Auror!

Also about Kreacher - he’s a house elf! He cannot use magic on Bernard without him agreeing to it. He’s just doing his orders and if Bernard wanted house elf magical protection, Kreacher will do it.

Might I add, it's very evident that in the HP universe that people who are famous has to handle their fame on their own.

3. I didn’t enjoy and couldn’t read the story because of Bernard.

Well too bad. Not my problem. If you don’t like a story then. Read another story that has power house character.

Also to my readers, sorry about my ranting! Thank you for putting up with me! The next chapter will be out in a couple of weeks.

Seen you then! Be safe!
