Chapter 2:

"Babe, you ready to go?"

"Yep," came the reply.

Two minutes later, me and Sirius were on the road, and a short while later we had arrived at the scene.

"We must have the wrong address," I thought aloud as we entered the Hallow estate. It was filled to the brim with police officers and paramedics. I found Barty in the courtyard, standing at the podium, crying solemnly.

"Barty, what happened?" I inquired.

"EVAN HAS BEEN MURDERED." Barty yelled the words angrily. His heart was filled with sour, melancholy rage and it was boiling, fast. I was determined to uncover the identity of this heartless killer.

Hours later, I had a list of suspects. I was surprised to see Regulus at the top of the list. I needed to talk to the suspects.

Suspect 1: Regulus

"Reggie, what time did you happen to arrive here? Just a casual question." I added in response to the raised eyebrow.

"Although, I really need an answer," I added after a long moment of silence.

"I know what you're up too. You're about as subtle as my brother. To answer your question, around seven thirty, maybe?"

He didn't get mad that I called him Reggie. How odd, I thought. The nickname had never failed to make him cringe before. Maybe he's just shaken by what happened. He and Evan were very close. If he'd arrived at seven, like he said, he would have had time to kill Evan.

Suspect 2: Voldylocks

"What time did you arrive?"

"Dunno," Voldylocks vaguely expressed herself.

"Who was here at the time you arrived?"

"Lily and James."

"Where were you and what were you doing?"

"I was talking to Lily and James in our seats."

"What did you talk about?"

"How well they murdered Evan," Voldy said plainly, as if it were obvious.

"It couldn't have been Lily and James, it doesn't sound like them and they have no motive."

Suspects 3 & 4: Lily and James

"Hi, Moony," James greeted me.

"Poor Evan, huh?"

"What time did you get here?"

"Round seven forty-ish," Lily thoughtfully answered.

"Why do you ask?" James wondered.

They can't know I suspect, if I'm wrong they'll be mad I don't trust them. And if I'm right, they'll kill me, so I don't arrest them.

"Just curious," I suspiciously stated.

Luckily, James was quickly distracted by a gleaming piece of silver in the grass, which turned out to be a spoon.

"I can't imagine anyone here killing him," Lily remarked.

"Sorry, I gotta go," I told them as I left to see suspect five.

Suspect 5: Mrs Crouch

"Hello Mrs Crouch, such a pity, what happened to Evan."

"Yes, I miss him so much. He was a great guy," she tearfully sobbed.

"What time would you say you got here?"

"You think I killed him, don't you?"

Her heart was filled with rage. Of course, I didn't, but I needed to give all the suspects an equal chance to prove themselves.

"No, no no. I need you to tell me when you arrived, so you can tell me if anyone lied about when they got here."

"Ok. I got here at seven o'clock, to help prepare."

"Was Regulus here when you arrived?"

"Yes."

"Were Lily and James here?"

"Yes."

"Were they acting suspicious at all?"

"No, they were very excited about the wedding. However, Lily did have some morning sickness, from the pregnancy."

"Regulus?"

"He kept jealously staring at Barty. I think it was making Evan uncomfortable."

"Ok, that's all the information I need."
