Just What I Hate
It was only last week when Draco was waking down the street. Disregarding the trash that laid everywhere on the sidewalk- he never liked living in this town. It was dirty and less homely than London. Yet, he couldn't even get a job. Feeling like a disgrace, because apparently you had to have a high school diploma to work everywhere now. In such a town, it sure was a shame he was just as down in the dumps as the rest of it. Barely keeping his rent paid and waking up alone in his apartment every morning. But that's when he saw it. Turning the corner of the street. An ugly, beaten sign: "Help Wanted". A coffee shop. He never thought about working at such a place. But he needed the money. He decided he'd take his chances and walked in. It appeared much nicer on the inside. It looked almost like every basic coffee shop, except the floor could've been swept, or mopped- or both. Other than that, though, Draco didn't have many complaints. The chandelier on the ceiling was a nice touch, and the light wood of the front counter was appealing to the eye.
"Need anything, sugar?" he heard from somewhere near him. He hated when people used pet names for each other. He ultimately cringed on the inside, but decided to keep looking around.
"Ignoring me already?" he turned, and there was man leaning over the counter eyeing Draco up and down. He looked like every other player Draco knew. Bushy hair, a few tattoos here and there, and a musky aura.
"Sorry, I didn't know you were taking to me." Draco replied.
"I'll forgive you this time, Hun. But please don't ignore me anymore." At that Draco has to physically control himself from walking out of the coffee shop and profusely rinsing out his ears. "Anyways, what can I get for you?" Draco was even debating at this point, did he really want to work with someone like that? He really, really needed the money though. He doubt this place would even require a diploma. "I saw the help wanted sign out front."
The man just raised his eyebrows and smirked, "Wow, I can't believe I might be working with such a beauty!" Draco tried to close his eyes and imagine being far, far away while the man turned around to go get and application for him.
He returned, handing the packet of papers to Draco. "I'm Harry by the way."
"Draco." he said, having no interest in even building some form of relationship with him.
"A beautiful name for a beautiful face." he winked. "Now just fill those out and bring them to me and you should be all set."
Draco looked at him confused, "no interview or anything?"
The man smiled at him widely, "the manager doesn't give someone like you an interview."
Draco just shaked his head, sat down and started to fill out all of his information. As soon as he was done he walked back up to the counter where the so-called-Harry had been standing. He took them from Draco, "Great! You're hired!"
Draco rolled his eyes for what felt like the hundredth time since he walked in, "don't you need to talk to your manager about that?"
Harry leaned in closer to Draco and whispered, "baby, I am the manager." Is it so wrong to quit as soon as you're hired?
