I should apologize
Caitlyn arrived at the Piltover Gurd Training Grounds. There she met with Grayson, her mentor. The one that had taught her how to shoot with the bow. “Young Kiramman” Grayson said bowing towards the princess “General Grayson” she said back. “Follow me Kiramman, I’ve got a new course for you.” After a small warmup, Caitlyn followed the course General Grayson had made specifically for Caitlyn. After the last arrow hit right in the middle of the target, Grayson clapped. “Sharp shooter as always, was it difficult?” Cleaning the sweat from her forehead, Caitlyn replied “Yes but nothing I can’t handle” “Well I have to go now I’ll leave you to it.” Grayson said bowing to excuse herself.
After collecting some of the arrows stuck in trees she cleaned her bow smiling at her new deadly weapon and right as she turned to head to her stallion her smile dropped. “How the hell???” What was she doing here? How did she find me?” There she was. The pink hair knight standing a few feet behind her. “What are you doing here!?” Caitlyn said annoyed. Her response, silence like always. “I don’t need an escort. I can take care of myself perfectly fine. Go back to the castle and tell that to my mother.” Caitlyn said walking away towards her horse. Right behind her the knight followed. This made Caitlyn so mad she abruptly stopped and shouted at the knight “ AND STOP FOLLOWING ME!”
The next day she did not see the knight standing outside her door. Instead, a piltovian soldier was sitting down a few steps away from her door at Jayce’s home. Caitlyn looked around at the garden, the stables, Jayce’s workshop, nothing. The knight was nowhere to be found. Had her words work? Was she finally able to get rid of her? Or did she….hurt the knight’s feelings? No, that girl didn’t even have emotions.
“Well it looks like you got rid of her” said a voice behind her. Turning around, she saw Jayce holding a letter on his hand. “This letter arrived. Your parents want you home today before the sun sets.” With a confused expression Caitlyn asked “Why?” Jayce replied “ I don’t know. There was no specific reason stated.” Caitlyn just sighed “Alright then, I shall head back. Thank you Jayce for the bow and for allowing me to stay in you home.” “Anytime” said Jayce giving Caitlyn a warm smile.
The next day, Caitlyn woke up to check if the pink hair knight was standing outside her door like always. To her disappointment, a single soldier was standing at the end of the hall. Why was she even looking for her? She should be happy she finally got rid of the knight. What was this feeling? Caitlyn shook her head and decided to spend the rest of the day reading. She got bored of reading and decided to head out, anyways, who was going to stop her now. She wanted to go to a festival that was held once a year at the lower parts of Piltover. She gathered her cloak and headed out. To her surprise, when she opened her door, there she was, the pink hair knight. She was sitting down and had fallen asleep. “Huh.. so you do sleep.” Caitlyn thought as she slowly closed her door and slowly walked away in the dark night.
Once at the festival, she put on her cloak to hide her identity. After a few fun games and buying some food she was ready to head home. As she walked a man blocked her way. “Look what we got here. Isn’t this the Princess of Piltover, Caitlyn Kiramman”. Caitlyn tried to walk back but behind her, two more man stood there blocking her way too. “How much do you think the Noxians would pay for her?” Said another man. “Let’s figure that out” the last man said. One of them grabbed Caitlyn by her arm and started pulling her forcing her to walk.
With all her force she managed to release herself and ran at the opposite direction. But of course they ran too. They chased her for a while until she tripped on hole on the ground twisting her ankle and scraping her knee and the palm of her hand. The three man found her and there she was, defenseless and scared unable to get up.
On of the man raised his arm with what seemed to be something sharp like a knife. Caitlyn closed her eyes prepared for the painful impact but all she hear was a body hitting the ground and something warm splashing on her face. When she opened her eyes, there she was, her appointed knight, with her helmet on and sword on her right hand. The other two man were scared and ran away as soon as the saw everything that had happened. The knight put her sword back in her belt and turned to help Caitlyn up. She tried to walk but her knee and ankle wouldn’t let her.
“Allow me” said the knight with her arms open. Caitlyn was too stunned to speak. This was the first thing she had hear the knight say. Her voice was soft. Nothing like Caitlyn had thought. “Your highness?” Said the knight again. “Ah- yes yes” said Caitlyn. Yes what? Before she could ask, the knight scooped her from behind her knees with one hand an the other one supporting her back. Caitlyn was too shocked on how easily the knight had picked her up to protest to put her down.
As they headed towards the castle, Caitlyn said “Wait, they can’t see me like this” the knight just looked at her. “I have an idea. There’s a secret passage under the castle that leads to multiple rooms. One of those rooms is my bedroom. Let’s go through there.” The knight followed Caitlyn’s instructions and they ended up in Caitlyn’s room. How strong was this knight? She had carried Caitlyn all the way from the lower part of Piltover to her room. That was a long walk.
She slowly helped Caitlyn sit on her bed and headed outside. “I’ll be right back.” Said the knight leaving Caitlyn alone with her thoughts. “I should apologize. I’ve treated her unfairly and yet she still protected me. Why? What would have happened if she wasn’t there? What if-“. Her thoughts were cut when the door opened again and the knight was holding a piece of cloth and some water.
“May I see you hand?” said the knight. Slowly Caitlyn held her hand towards the knight. She started cleaning the area full of mud and some blood. After she was done cleaning her hand, she asked again “May I?” Pointing at the knee. Caitlyn nodded.
Clearing her throat, Caitlyn looked away “I want to apologize for treating you the way I did this past few days. And also… also thank you for… saving me back there” with a small smile the knight replied “it’s my job your highness. All done” the knight said standing up. “Could we keep this between us? I don’t want to worry my parents.” The knight nodded and headed out. Before she left Caitlyn asked “what’s your name?” The knight pulled the door “Vi” she closed the door and Caitlyn heard as she sat down outside her door. She caught herself smiling looking up at the ceiling. What was this feeling?
