Note
Hello to you who’s reading this. This is my first fan fic ever. If you don’t like it, it’s alright just stop reading it. The story is inspired by one of my favorite games, The Legend Of Zelda. I apologize for any misspelling or if it’s hard to comprehend the wording. English is not my first language. I have an outline and an idea on how this story is going to go but I will gladly take any suggestions. This story won’t follow exactly the story of the game but it will have references. With nothing more to say I’ll let you enjoy it.

Training

The next morning the got up and opened the door to se her, Vi, the pink hair knight, sleeping. Caitlyn slowly tapped on her shoulder and Vi got up so fast the she accidentally slipped and landed hard on the ground. With a small chuckle Caitlyn held her uninjured hand out to help Vi up. She gladly took the Princess’s hand and got up.

“Im sorry for falling asleep” said Vi picking up her helmet from the ground. “Don’t worry about that, are you hungry?” Asked Caitlyn. Vi shook her head putting her helmet on. “Well me neither. I want you to do me a favor” Caitlyn said walking away. Vi nodded and followed Caitlyn two steps behind her. After a short walk, they arrived at the stables and together on their own horse they headed out.

After a while, they arrived at Jayce’s home. She asked Vi to wait outside. Vi nodded holding both ropes that held the horses. After a few minutes, Caitlyn came out with what seemed to be a belt with a sword? They got on their horses and Vi followed Caitlyn to an open field with a tree in the middle, close to the forest not far away from the castle. They tied the horses on the tree and headed to the open field.

“Draw your sword” order Caitlyn. With a confused look, Vi removed her sword from her belt. Caitlyn removed her sword which seemed thinner than Vi’s. “I want you to teach me how to fight.” Vi look at the princess “With all due respect you highness, I don’t believe it’s appropriate for a princess to-” she was cut off by a swing from the thin blade that she barely dodged. “Appropriate for a princess to what?” Vi, with a small smile, swung back at Caitlyn, of course with less force to prevent hurting her.

Caitlyn blocked Vi swings, impressing her on how well the princess was blocking her swings. After a few minutes, Caitlyn got tired and they decided to rest under the tree with the horses. Vi kept practicing her swings while Caitlyn cleaned her sword to put it back in the belt. The princess stared at Vi, amazed on how easily she could swing the sword.

“Who taught you to fight like that?” Vi stopped and turned around to face Caitlyn. “That day in the arena, you lost your sword but were still able to beat the other knights with your bare fists.” Vi put her sword on her belt and sat down on Caitlyn’s opposite side facing her. “My father. He’s the strongest man I know. He taught me how to protect myself with my fists.” Caitlyn looked at Vi with a soft smile. “Who’s your father? If I may ask.” After a sight Vi continued, “He’s the leader of Zaun, yes I come from the under city. He keeps everyone in line and makes sure everyone’s safe.”

Caitlyn was smiling at the way Vi’s voice sounded while talking about her father. “But he’s not my blood father. My real father was killed along with my mother by some drunk Piltover soldiers.” Caitlyn’s smile dropped. “I’m sorry” she said in a low voice. “It’s alright. My father and his brother killed those soldiers.” Caitlyn’s jaw dropped. “It looks like it’s going to rain soon. We should head back to the castle.” Caitlyn nodded and headed to their horses.

For the next few days, Caitlyn and Vi would go to the same spot and trained. Vi taught her how to properly stand, how to hold the sword and other basic stuff. Everyday Caitlyn would get better and stronger. Eventually she started to wear armor to get used to the new added weight.

Caitlyn started enjoying going to train with Vi. She was happy to wake up and seeing her outside her room ready for anything or anywhere Caitlyn had to go. Why? What was this feeling?

One day during training, rain started to pour but Caitlyn didn’t care. She enjoyed the rain. Her movements with the sword were more stable and she felt confident. “Go harder” said Caitlyn. “Are you sure?” “Yes I’m sure”. Without hesitation, Vi started to swing and move faster. Impressively Caitlyn was able to keep up but due to the rain, the floor was muddy and slippery making it hard to move around with mud on their boots.

Caitlyn dropped her sword and picked up her fists. Confused, Vi also dropped her sword but didn’t raise her fists. Caitlyn threw punches at Vi, but she kept dodging the. Caitlyn kept swinging unable to hit Vi but enjoying the moment.

After a few more swings she got frustrated making Vi laugh distract Caitlyn. She was laughing? The emotionless knight was laughing?

Caitlyn got some mud from the ground a threw at Vi hitting right in the middle of the chest plate. “Hey! That’s not fair” Vi said. That mud splash distracted Vi, giving a chance for Caitlyn to charge and tackle her to the ground.

They both landed hard on the ground. Caitlyn on top of Vi with her hands of the chest where the mud had landed and Vi’s hands on Caitlyn’s waist. They stared at each other for a few seconds. Her eyes. She saw the beautiful powder blue eyes of her appointed knight.

Vi smiled, making Caitlyn look down at the smile. She had a pretty smile. She felt herself blushing. The moment was interrupted by a loud sound caused by the thunder. Caitlyn rapidly got up and helped Vi back on her feet, and didn’t talk about. They each got their swords and without any words they headed back to the castle.

Caitlyn walked back to her room with Vi behind her. Before opening the door, Caitlyn apologized “I’m sorry for tackling you, I hope I didn’t hurt you” Vi removed her helmet and replied “no worries, I’ve been tackled and worse before. Now if you excuse me, I will clean myself up.” “Oh yes go ahead” said Caitlyn “I’ll do the same.”

That same night, Caitlyn couldn’t sleep. When she closed her eyes, she could see them. She couldn’t forget them. Those powder blue eyes. What was this feeling? She shook her head and after what felt like an eternity, she finally managed to fall asleep.

After more days of training not just with the sword but also with her firsts, Caitlyn felt more confident and comfortable with the armor. She also felt more comfortable around Vi and she could tell that Vi also felt comfortable around her. Sometimes they would spend the whole afternoon under that tree at the open field, just talking about their lives before they met or their dreams of the future.

“Would you take me to Zaun?” That question came out of nowhere. Vi looked at her “why would you want to go to Zaun. That’s not exactly a place for a princess.” Caitlyn took a slice of apple a gave it to Vi. “Well I don’t mind. I want to get out of here, explore outside this fancy place.” “What about your parents?” Vi asked. “Don’t worry about them. I know who can help me.” Standing up, Caitlyn said “let’s go, we need to go get something.”
