Chapter 21
One night, during the summer holiday, James and Sirius were sat around the fireplace in James's house (Sirius' now as well although he still struggled to think of it like that). When the fire place lit up and Regulus fell through it on to the carpet. Sirius lept forward and scooped his brother up into his lap careful to avoid touching his back like he was already aware of where Regulus' injuries were. James rushed forward and had just spotted the growing dark stains on Regulus' shirt when Sirius yelled for James to go and get his mum. Sirius just sat whispering quietly to his brother that he was safe now, he never had to go back. Sirius would get him out and he would never have to see their parents again. When James came back with his mum, Sirius met his eyes and they had a silent conversation, they would protect Regulus with everything they had because they loved him.
