Chapter 22
Whenever Sirius and Remus had to go outside in the rain, Sirius would always force Remus to carry the umbrella for them. He claimed it was because it made logical sense as Remus was taller and had longer arms. However, it was actually because it meant that Sirius could walk cuddled close to Moony without anyone getting suspicious. The one time James tried to hold an umbrella for Padfoot, Sirius glared so hard at him that James was scared Sirius was trying to do some wordless magic on him. Lily realised immediately on one of their trips to Hogsmead in the rain why Sirius enjoyed getting Remus to hold an umbrella so much and vowed to make sure they left the castle as often as possible when it was raining, to allow the couple to act cutesy together without fear of anyone figuring out their relationship.
