Chapter 4
Everyone in Gryffindor tower knew of James Potter's obsession with Lily Evans. Opinions varied through the house as some people thought they would be a cute couple and wanted Lily to accept James' affections. Others thought James was too over the top and that Lily was dodging a bullet. However, no matter what their opinion was everyone in Gryffindow tower had a stake in the bet of when they would finally get together. Remus refused to participate in the bet until one day he suddenly showed up in the common room and placed a bet for the next summer. No one thought anything of it until they returned to school after the summer with James and Lily holding hands and Remus collected his winnings. What everyone neglected to remember was that Remus was friends with James and Lily and they both talked to him about their relationship so Remus knew that Lily was going to ask James out during the summer. When Sirius realised this he wondered how he had never noticed how crafty and manipulative Remus could be. It was kind of hot.
