Stuck together for a day

Izanami supposes this isn’t the worst assignment she’s ever been given but she’s still not looking forward to it. Really all she had to do was have a normal day in the Curer Society Facility. Catch is she has to do it with Eris attached to her. Tsukiko wanted files on the subjects here so that once the liberation happens, she can make sure the Himura clan is prepared to care for them. Why can't she do it herself? Tsukiko was worried about the operation being a bust if Izanami got caught.

“God you’re so glum. Worse than Tsukiko. At least she has some optimism left in her even if it’s usually drowned out by everything else.” Eris says resting her arm on Izanami’s head. She was completely weightless seeing as she doesn’t have her own physical form that isn’t temporary. It was still annoying on Izanami’s end to be used as an armrest. Izanami begins walking away before Eris takes her arm off her head, leaving the spirit floating in midair. “At least humor me before I get locked in a box.” Eris’s face may not have changed but she can tell she’s pouting. Izanami sighed because she knew Eris was at least possibly right. The plan was to say she got Eris attached to her during the hunt she was sent on. They’d removed Eris from her and put her into containment. Considering Eris is much more powerful than they’d expect.

She’d be punished for letting it deceive her but they wouldn’t think much of the situation beyond that. It happened after all. There’s been escapees over the years because of misjudgments. Some even ones Izanami brought in herself. She used to try not to think about it when they were deemed kill on sight and she was sent after them. Now she must face it and attone for all the innocent lives she took over the years of being under the Curer Society’s thumb. She supposed she should be thankful for Eris. She’s pretty sure Eris’s interest in her is what made Tsukiko decide to free and trust her. “Fine, what do you want from me?”

“Let me see through your eyes!” That gave Izanami pause. “What do you mean?” Eris looked exasperated at that question. “Exactly what I said, stupid. Tsukiko lets me do it with her eyes sometimes. Her eyes aren’t very good though. Only one works and the other one… honestly I don’t know how she survives without glasses. Your eyes though… they’re special.” Izanami rolled her eyes. It wasn’t like her vision was anything special besides well… seeing the supernatural. It’s not like that wasn’t something Eris and Tsukiko could do too. “It’s not like it’d be anything new.” Eris got pouty again. “It would be to me. You know we’ve never encountered a human like you before. There’s a few similar to you but they can never see to the extent you can.”

“You don’t need to be buttering me up, you know. I already agreed to do what you want.” Izanami says. From what she knows of Eris it’s rather unlike her to try buttering someone up. “Yay!” Izanami felt a slight pressure behind her eyes but it wasn’t too painful. More uncomfortable than anything. Eris seemed amazed by what she’s seeing. She herself didn’t really see anything that was so special. Same sidewalk, same trees, same stares of the dead, and same burning brightness of the sun. “I never knew colors could be this but this bright…” Izanami felt surprised that colors are what Eris wanted to see. Wouldn’t Tsukiko’s or her own eyes be able to show her that just fine? Eris almost seemed to read her mind and gave her an answer. “I can only see in shades of black, white and red. Apparently if your eyes see color normally then Tsukiko’s eyes dull the color.” Izanami was surprised to hear that. She had no idea their ability to see color was so limited. “… You only get to use my eyes till we get there.” “Fine, fine, you bore.”
