Chapter 1
Remus was sitting in the train compartment alone. He didn’t mind it much, he liked silence. The peaceful quiet was quickly broken by two boys, about his age entering the compartment. One had a mess of dark hair and round glasses sitting on his face, the other one had faint blond hair and had a chubby face lit up by a friendly smile.
“Hi, can we sit here? Everywhere else is full” The dark haired boy asked, “I’m James, by the way” He said, reaching out a hand.
“Remus” Remus nodded politely, shaking James’s hand, “And yes, you can sit here”
“Peter” The blond boy smiled, looking a little nervous.
Then, someone was yelling right outside the compartment. Remus decided to not take much bother, he was tired as always. The door to the compartment slid open and someone else entered. Remus turned to look at the person entering. It was a boy, about his age too, even though he looked older. He had long, black, silky hair and high cheekbones that gave him a majestic look. Remus caught himself staring and quickly looked away.
The boy spoke in an accent that made Remus sure he came from money, “Can I sit here?”
“Yeah, of course!” James beamed.
“Sirius, Sirius Black” Sirius extended a hand to James.
“James Potter,” James replied.
“Potter, huh? Breaking my parent’s rules already, refreshing.” Sirius said in a sarcastic tone.
Remus already disliked him. A sarcastic, posh boy. What else? Oh yeah, he was extremely good-looking.
“And what’s your name?” Sirius asked.
“Remus,” Remus answered.
“Last name?”
“Lupin, mind your business now, please” Remus mumbled and looked out the window as the train left the station.
“Someone’s in a bad mood, I see” Sirius tutted.
Remus didn’t reply. It was the week of a full moon, of course he was in a bad mood. Remus couldn’t deny that the boy had quite the charm but he was quite unlikeable in his opinion.
“What houses do you guys expect to be put in?” James asked, “I’m going to be a Gryffindor, I feel it”
“My whole family are Slytherins but I suppose it would be nice to be different” Sirius stated.
“I’m fine with everything except Slytherin, I suppose I’m not clever enough to be put in Ravenclaw though” Peter said.
“My dad was a Ravenclaw, but I don’t really mind” Remus joined the conversation. The ride was long but Remus managed to bond with the other boys, at least a little. He was still a little unsure about Sirius, but James and Peter seemed nice.
