Chapter 4
Jax’s POV
Today me and the friend group are going to the movies! And today was the day I’m doing it. I’m asking Pomni to prom. We drove in my car to Studio Movie Grill. Our favorite movie place. I dunno why we just kinda chose it.
When we arrived we ordered tickets to see Lisa Frankenstein a new movie that looked interesting and was horror so we just chose it but when I swiped my card. “Sir your card was declined.” The counter person said.
“What?” I said. She showed me the screen. “Well shit…” I said.
Pomni stepped forward. “I got it!” She said with a smile pulling out a black card. I looked over to everyone who looked shocked.
“What does she do for work?!” Ragatha whispered.
“She’s an Olympic figure skater.” I said with a light smile. She walked over.
“I got back row tickets, that good?” She asked.
“Yeah that’s perfect! Thanks Pomni!” I said.
We got into the theater and I sat down next to Pomni and the commercials started. Me and the group talked and laughed a bit then Pomni said “do you all want anything to eat and drink?”
“Yes please!” We all said. We ordered some popcorn and slushees. Then the movie started.
We all sat in silence for a bit. Munching popcorn and drinking our slushees. The movie was pretty creepy and Pomni jumped a lot. Then Ragatha nudged my arm.
I looked over and she fake yawned and stretched her arms out then pointed to Pomni. I got the signal and went for it. I wrapped my arm around her while pretending to yawned and she leaned into me.
Ragatha gasped and took a picture. I pretended I didn’t know and continued watching the movie.
When it was over all of us were a bit scared for life and decided to go get dinner at Rotolos. We got a table and ordered one medium cheese and one medium pepperoni. Then Ragatha texted me the photos and said ASK HER DUMMY!!!
I said fine. I drew a deep breath cleared my throat and “hey Pomni…” she looked up from her phone.
“Yes?” She said with a smile.
“I was wondering if you’d like to be my uhm- would you wanna go to prom with me.” I said. “No pressure! You don’t have to if you don’t want to I just-“
“I’d love to!” I looked up to see Pomni blushing and beaming.
Ragatha squealed in excitement. “Oh my gosh! Am I invited to the wedding?! How many kids?!” She said really fast.
“Christ Rags calm down!” I said with a smile.
Zooble hit my arm. “Never thought you’d be able to pull anyone Jax, but here we are.”
