Chapter 1
The scents of tea fill the air with a quiet sort of peace brought by the soothing scents, flowers are strung up across the relatively dark room the sole source of light leaks through the boards of the window shutters or spills out like molten from a candle that has been added onto for centuries wax spilling down the furniture creates a slight singe to the worn wood and metal present. “Madam !!” is called out as the door cascades light breaking the peace as a woman strides her way over to the old witch in the corner brewing tea, a lavender blend that sooths the cold air from outdoors, and a ferret rushes from one side to the other startled by the voice breaking the silence.
“Ah madam I was hoping to ask if I could grab a few tea leaves now and have the rest delivered to the café in a few days from our decided date, I recently hired a new recruit and have to be training her, sigh, she’s a tricky one unfortunately...”
“No. You shall only get it at the normal time do you know how long this stuff takes me?” The witches hands direct to the roof accidentally hitting a branch of rosemary that had proceeded to fall to the floor with a soft thud. “Anyway, Ms Visha you know my policy that I do not accept time changes not previously agreed upon in our contract. Ah, but maybe I can help teach this child how to brew teas correctly, I still do not trust that other lad near even the pot let alone the tea leaves.” Swiftly grabbing she pushes the other out of the door saying her goodbye as swiftly as the door was shut.
The soft humming of a song from a millennia ago begins only for the small ferret that makes his way over plumping his body on a near by pillow to nap the tune and smell of lavender soaking deep in his fur, soon to be accompanied by the harmonious strokes on his long fur. Sighing to herself seeing her trusted companion, Casper a snow-white ferret with a snout and paws that are a soft grey and a few tea stains from spilling over her cups of tea onto himself.
“Welp my silly boy it seems like we might have more people coming into our lives then originally planned, ah Diantha Visha, she’s got a strong soul clearly this new recruit must be a mess if even she can’t teach them.” Taking a sip of her tea, slightly bitter from being left out for so long, she gazed at her sleeping friend.
