the temple of the dead

if professor Scamander was amazed at the contents of their trunk he certainly did not let it show on his face, thought Albus as he lead their little group through the thick forest by using the enchanted compass their father gifted them when they moved to Peverell hall, the compass was among many other items the siblings had collected from their previous generation or bought themselves at diagon alley. it was not the greatest invention, but a very simple one meant to help them navigate through Peverell hall it was a large estate, much larger than Grimmauld's place where he was born.

he was six when they moved into Peverell hall and he always lost his way, as did James even if he would never admit to his inability on the matter, the compass was enchanted to show its user where they wanted to go, he and James had used it in Hogwarts too during their early years and then left it in the care of their sister lily, and thank merlin she brought the trunk with her or else they would have been lost here for quite a while longer.

as aAbus lead their group through the forest he could tell the canopy above was thinning moonlight was shining a little more indicating that they were reaching a clearing or hopefully the edge of this dreadful forest, while walking they encountered many sounds unfamiliar to their ears terrified lily, thankfully James had cast a Patronus a stag much like their father and endeavored to maintain it for quite some time, the while stag moved all around them prancing from side to the other painting an aura of positivity and happiness the emotions it brought out were welcomed in these dreadful circumstances.

while walking at the front of their group, his mind returned back to the trunk as he did an inventory of everything he saw inside, the trunk was a black purchase something no one except the three of them knew about it carried a surplus of his potions ingredients and a lot of James own prank material it carried their brooms and its service kits an extra set of dresses and school robes a good chunk of galleons and a farm for maintaining a herb garden a lab for his potions multiple rooms and bathrooms along with a set of expandable tents a lot of books on miscellaneous matters. '

their father is very liberal with pocket money something James took full advantage of, buying whatever he wanted, his older brother likes only the best, his boots are dragonhide his overcoats are dragon hides his gloves are dragon hides, James kept his own many winnings from his dueling competitions in the trunk as well, unlike Albus and lily, James goes only for the best, the sheer amount he spends every year on useless items is astounding in his opinion, not that he is very innocent either Albus uses his extra money to maintain his own personal collection of books which should not be in hands of children but like always there is never any proof and he makes sure to keep his collection hidden, something he will have to double

check now that professor Scamander was aware of their secret trunk.

it was a little while later when they found a clearing a very large clearing at that, in the middle of a forest it was twice the size of a quidditch field with a small pond in the middle, on the opposite side of which stood a lone structure he guessed it a temple it looked like an Indian temple from far away at least.

" well we have found lodgings for the night at least, what do u think professor," asked James
"I think Mr potter that u all should stand back as I make some preliminary checks on this supposed lodgings for the night, we don't want any mishappenings, so wait for me here" ordered Mr. Scamander as he moved ahead to make his checks.
" what do u think the place is Albus some kind of tomb," asked James
"I have no idea James, personally I don't like any of this we are in a very different place, and the temple looks Indian in origin, so could be, we are in India but it's September and too dry for an Indian climate " replied Albus calmly, but even his calm tone James could sense his uneasiness
" u think it a tomb that we could explore like uncle Bill," asked lily sharply who did not look tired in the least
" no one is exploring anything until we know where we are" replied James adamantly

it was in times like this when Albus hated James, how he could transition from being the gullible potter to a serious older bother who is mature and dependable in the blink of an eye and expect them to heed his every word, it unnerved him to some extend,

professor Scamander returned sometime later after making his check and told all of them to follow him back to the temple, the inside of the building was eerily dark and opened into a large hall similar to Hogwart's great hall it was bare, there were no painting or attachments no enchantments either, it was creepy James without wasting a moment brought a line of Gibraltar flames who shot to multiple corners of the building lighting the place up

professor Scamander and James begin erecting multiple wards all around the place as Albus took his wand out and begin to clean the place up with multiple charms and conjured some basic carpets on the floor for civilization's sake, but he was stumped when the wall to the left did not react to his charms at all he tried multiple times but it still did not work, he soon realized why the wall has an enchantment on it making it capable of repelling magic. he shared his findings with his companions who soon took to throwing spells as well when the revelio charm did not work on the wall the tenth time James had had enough he called upon the strongest bombarda he could and in James-like fashion blew the wall apart.

clouds of dust covered them as the wall collapsed in the center, albus was smart enough to erect a bobblehead charm over his face and lilys which saved them from inhaling mountains of dust the same could could not be said for his brother and Mr scamander, they were hit with a terrible coughing fit and took minutes to clear themselves up of the diust that invaed their body, Albus only watched in amusement.

when the dust settled and James and professor were good enough to seem healthy the group peeked into the room that appeared behind the collapsed wall, and what they say took their breath away on a raised dais 3 separate cushions were set upon which were three baby dragons sleeping harmoniously they looked majestic and beautiful they were the size of cats, Mr. Scamander cautioned them to maintain a distance but his own fascination kept him following his own wisdom, an inscription was beside them erected on the dais written in Latin. Among the three of them, only albus could read latin so he took the initiative, the inscription read

" it is with a heavy heart that I put an end to my journey here in these cursed lands, this temple of death will not let me leave here no matter how hard I try my dear dragon 'swean' has chosen to remain behind here with me till the time I die and then follow behind me at the end of her own life. in the many decades, we spent here together at last swean gave birth to her children, from a new clutch she brought forth, I cannot bring myself to see them dead in these lands just as their mother and i. the ritual I am enacting will take my and sweans life as a willing sacrifice it will rid this place of its curse and enact a barrier to over the young dragons to keep them ageless for many years to pass. if u are reading this I wish for u take the children of my dear swean and care for them as you would care for your own, its a dying man last wish."
signed Bjorn Evensen.

as Albus completed his recitation of the inscription the dais broke down and with a small roar the sleeping dragons woke up, from their long slumber, simultaneously three people felt a tug in their minds they never did before.
