Wednesday was never sorry about anything. But she almost regretted pushing away Enid the way she had. It was too quiet without her in the dorm. And all the colours around her felt dimmer. But that was silly, she hated colour anyway, so why did she miss the vibrancy of them all of a sudden.
Enid looked at Wednesday on the other side of the courtyard. She seemed properly miserable, and Enid tried to stay upset with her, but she found she didn’t have it in her to be mad.
Wednesday was shocked to find that she had initiated the hug with Enid. What was more shocking was that she almost enjoyed it. And the colours were back, she almost smiled.
