“I love you Lily Flower” James says as he gets on one knee. Ring box being drawn from his trouser pocket just as the sun sets on the great lake behind them. “After years of me chasing you, years of you snubbing me. Our prank wars, the problems with our parents. Snape. Yes, he deserves a sentence on his own, we may now get on, but it was a long way. We are here once again, the sun setting behind us like on our first date, waiting for news from Hogwarts again. So, just like all those years ago…”
“It was two years ago James” Lily giggled through her tears.
“Fine” he huffs in reply. “Just like two years ago, I come bearing a question for you. Lily Marie Evens, will you do me the honour of putting up with my antics for the rest of our lives and becoming my wife.”
Lily flings her arms around James, causing them both to tumble to the ground. “Yes! Yes! Yes!” She replies.
“I love you Lily Flower” James says as he looks at her in her wedding dress. “You are my one true love, always have been, and I am so grateful that I can now call you Mrs Potter.” Pushing her onto the bed, he then says, “Are you ready for our wedding night?”
“Never been more ready James” she replies.
“I love you Lily Flower” James says as he brushes the sweaty hair from her face. “You have done brilliantly, just look at his tiny hands! Oh, he is so beautiful. Our perfect babe.”
“I love this family you have given me James, thank you for never giving up on me” Lily replies before falling asleep.
“I love you Lily Flower” James says as he greets his wife beyond the veil.
Waking up, professor Lupin once again gives Harry some chocolate.
“Professor, I heard music this time, do you by any chance know the song as you knew my parents?” he says, before humming it.
“I do, it was the song your dad created to show his love for his, and I quote, Lily Flower.” Professor Lupin replies, before sending Harry away.
Heading back to Gryffindor tower, Harry doesn’t stop humming the melody, and when he has his own wife and kids in the future, he will make sure they know the tune too. To keep them as safe as the song makes him feel.
In the future, he will make sure the world knows of James Potter and how he says "I love you Lily Flower".
