"When I was five, my cousin was chasing. I can't remember why. For tag, I think? But I was running, and I was pretty scared, and then suddenly I wasn't in England any more. I was in New York, in America. There were two camps. Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter. I was at Camp Half Blood. There were other people there, called demigods. Kids who had a mortal parent and an immortal parent. I was called a Son of Hecate, 'cause what I can do. I trained there. I learned how to climb a wall that had lava all over it. But then I left. I can't control my powers, the ones that make me hop dimensions. So I left again," He took a deep breath, staring at the wall. "I was in England, again. Not this England, a different one. An angel and a demon found me. I went to school for the first time. I was six. And then after my birthday again, I hopped to a place where there's this woman called Ms. Peregrine. She's nice. She's a ymbrine," Snape's sharp intake of breath went ignored. "There were people who had powers, called peculiars. One of them could animate dead things with hearts. And there were two gorgons, and one of them could control fire," his eyes flicked up as Mcgonagall let out a soft gasp. "Then I hopped again. I hopped to Chicago, in America, 'cept I think it was in the future. There were five factions, everyone was part of one. Erudite, the intelligent, Amity, the kind, Abnegation, the selfless, Candor, the honest, and Dauntless, the brave. There were also people who didn't have a faction, 'cause they failed the entry test," He extended his right arm, turning slightly so they could see the shoulder. "I was part of Dauntless. They thought I was an orphan, 'cause they just finished a war and a bunch of Dauntless parents died. I also trained there. I learned how to shoot guns. I learned their mottos," he paused for a second. "Speak for those who are mute, fight for those who are lame, fear not death but dishonor, bold deeds match bold words, violence without reason is dishonor, know yourself to know others, and think before you act," he recited. "A group of Erudites broke into the base. It was after my birthday, so I jumped off a wall and disappeared. They think I'm dead now," he withdrew his arm. "Then I went to America again, a different one. I stayed with a family called the Addams. They have magic too. Not like mine, different. They have a daughter, Wednesday. I taught her how to teleport. And then I landed here. And after a year, I'll hop again,"
