As you are waking up, you hear someone talking that you haven't met before. “The abrasion caused her to lose a lot of blood, and we did the best we could to heal it. She should be fine to go home in a few days.” said what you believed to be the Doctor. Lucius replied with “Thank you. Could I speak to you outside for a moment?”. “Of course!” the kind witch had replied. You waited a moment more before opening your eyes to see a face on Draco you wish you could permanently erase from your mind. He was doing his best to hide his worry for you. Narcissa had the same face as well, when she said “Oh dear, you're doing lovely.”. She held your hand, and the three of you waited for Lucius to return. After a few minutes he returned with a small stuffed animal and a stern look on his face. “I hope you get better. You should be out in about a day or so. You always loved rabbits.” He handed you a small rabbit with floppy ears that wore a small white bonnet tied by a blue ribbon. You had always loved foxes and all sorts of birds, but you supposed it was the thought that counts.

Later that evening, you finally got to see the three long and deep slashes that ran from the top of your hip, all the way down to your foot. They were now silvery as the rest of your wounds, and had healed faster than usual. They let you go home the day after, and told you that you should rest your leg as it finishes the healing process. You stayed in your room for the next four days, and got your meals brought to you by Dobby. Draco had come in once in those four days, to ask how you were feeling. He was very nice about it despite his usual front he put up. He didn't stay long.

As promised, Lucius had Dobby get most of your supplies for Hogwarts which was just over a month away now. It's been a few months since your leg injury, and it healed up nicely in that time. Later today, you get to go to Diagon Alley to receive your wand at Ollivanders and get your robes fitted. “Come now, Celeste. We don't have all day.” Lucius had said. “Coming,” you replied as you went down the stairs. You both had used the floo system to arrive. You heard and saw the bustling of many witches, both old and young. The two of you had headed straight to Ollivanders, despite Lucius’s views on the man. “Ollivander, nice to see you” “Ah, Mister Malfoy! I expected to see you both! Looking for a wand for Celeste, I presume?” the jovial man had said. “Yes, something that will suit her nicely.” Lucius had replied. “Well then, let's get started. Shall we?” He handed you a hawthorn wand with a unicorn hair and asked you to spin it in a counter-clockwise motion. As you did, small sparks came out of the tip “Definitely not!... What about sycamore with Phoenix feather?” You did as he asked. After maybe 20 wands, and an impatient Lucius later, you find a Willow wood and Dragon Heartstring core wand that fits you perfectly. You then got it packaged and went to Madame Malkin’s for your robe fitting. “One last stop before we leave, alright?” Lucius had said, “That would be fine with me.” you replied. He led you to Eeylops Owl Emporium. It was an odd choice of store as the family already had an owl, but nonetheless, you both walked in.

You got into the tall shop with many owls. “Why don't you look around? I’ll be talking with one of my co-workers for a bit.” he said, giving you free range of the store. You walked around seeing all sorts of owls, from Barn Owls, to Snowy Owls, Screech Owls, and even Eagle Owls among many others. A small black owl with grey speckles had landed on your shoulder. “Aww, well aren't you cute!”. Usually animals are scared of you for being a lycanthrope. The small owl hooted and rubbed against the side of your face. You looked around a little bit more with the small owl still perched on your shoulder when your father had found you. “Ahh, Celeste. It seems you have a new companion.” Lucius said when he saw the sight. “Ahh, so you’ve met Midnight? She’s one of our rescues, owner was lost in the war. She’s been bloody hostile to everyone who’s gotten close, even other owls. It’s good to know she likes you!” said the shop owner. “Great, we’ll take her.” Lucius had said with finality in his voice. “Really!” you questioned, having a hard time hiding your excitement for your first owl.

Once you had gotten back to Malfoy manor it was lunchtime. Narcissa and Draco had been pleased to see you both back. After lunch, you went to your room and bonded a little bit with your new owl. What can you do? You thought. The small bird had started scratching under her small wing, when something fell out of her bundle of feathers. A paper? You thought as you unraveled the small yellowed scroll of parchment. It said,

My dearest dove,

I wish I could say I’m fine, however that would be a lie. It’s been a while since I’ve last written, though I hope you understand my reasoning. Our dearest flower had bloomed on October 30th of this year. I miss you dearly, my love. I wish I could say more, but I believe I wont have the chance to see you again. I have my suspicions that I am being watched. I am in fear of the worst, so I am headed off to the aviaries in hopes of safety for our Coriander.

Forever yours,

Daffodil

What does this mean? Who wrote it? Who is it to? What are they talking about? These questions raked through your mind. “I wonder what this is about…” There was a knock on your door. “Celeste, could you please come down for a moment?” narcissa asked from the other side of the door. “Sure. One moment,” you hid the note quietly and opened the door.

You were led into your fathers chambers. “Celeste, please sit.” By the tone of your father, you did as you were told to keep from the consequences. “We’re going to have a long talk… You will need to know the expectations of you, especially for the next couple of years.” after an extensive talk about who you can and cannot be around, who you were going to marry, and the whole usual pureblood shenanigans. “Narcissa, I believe that you can take it from here.” Lucius had said when he finished. Narcissa led you out of his chambers and into your room to have a quote unquote private chat. “You might have noticed some…changes, lately, and I’d like to inform you a bit before you leave for Hogwarts. Have you ever heard of a period?” you shake your head. “I didn't think so. A period is part of every woman's life. You see, you have something called a uterus and ovaries. Each month, an egg is released from your ovaries and into your uterus. It holds onto the lining until it is apparent you won't get pregnant. Then the lining comes off and you bleed from down there. There are a few different products that you can use for your period. You can also get really bad cramps. Are you following?” You nodded your head, despite being disgusted with what you had just been told. “Alright. I just hope you come to me if it happens. If it happens at Hogwarts, hopefully someone can lend you some things until I can send you your own. I believe that was all, so I’ll go check in on Draco. I’ll see you at dinner, darling,” Narcissa said before leaving and shutting the door. “Wow… I was not ready for that.”

After recovering from that conversation, you headed down for dinner. You had just finished, and went up to your room when Midnight had perched on your shoulder holding the small scroll from earlier in her beak. “Yeah, I wonder what that's about as well.” You stifled a yawn, and prepared for bed by brushing your teeth and changing into your pajamas.
