Playing Outside

Cyrus went to help clean the dishes and put them away, to which both adults denied, telling him to get ready for the day, as they're the adults and he's the child.

Cyrus opens his trunk, only to find that none of the 'clothes' were there. He opens the wardrobe, which is where he found a few sets of shirts, pants, socks and underwear. He settled for a a simple olive-green shirt and lip lack cotton pants.

He looks at himself in the mirror again, his new appearance is starting to grow on him. Maybe if he grows his fringe out a bit, no one will notice him out in public? He doubts it though, the scar is getting harder to hide. It's not that he hates it, he just hates the fame that he doesn't want.

He can ask his father if he can take him down to muggle London to get him some makeup to hide it when out in public. The way people always stared at it always put him on edge.

"Would like a hair tie?" Luna's soft voice says from behind him. Turning around, he sees she has a few hair ties, a brush and what looks to be like some brightly coloured hair clips. "Oh yes please." She hands them over. He's never really had long hair before, but he figures it can't be too hard.

He was wrong. Why is it so hard?

Luna watches, amused and giggling, as her brother tries (and fails) to tie his hair up. Getting off the bed, she takes the brush off him. She starts brushing the soft locks again. That part he had found pretty easy.

"How would you like your hair?" "I don't really know the different styles." He confesses. Sure, he had seen the girls around school with their hair in different ways, it's not like he had paid attention to it though.

Understanding, she chooses something for him, an easy half up half down look, with a light blue clip in his hair to finish it off. "Thank you."
"Oh it's no problem at all." Is her response.

They head back in the lounge room, watching Remus and Xenophilius talking quietly. Noticing them, they stop, turning the attention towards the children. "Oh good! Those clothes look much better on you." Remus says brightly. "Of course, we'll take you back some other time to get you some more." Xenophilius adds. Cyrus looks at them, wanting to say something.

"Something wrong?"

"Do you think you could take me down to muggle London too? I want some makeup for my scar when I'm out." Remus ruffles his hair. "You know widen have our own makeup? We'll get you some when we go clothes shopping. Probably the hairdressers too, always good to look after your hair, now that it's longer and more manageable."

Cyrus laughs, "The last time I went to the hairdressers, the lady ended up crying because nothing she tried would work."

"We should go to Ollivanders too." Luna spoke up. "Due to your blocks, you probably have a wand that's no longer compatible with your magick."
"She's right. Well go in a weeks' time on your birthday, how does that sound." Cyrus felt his cheeks heat up. "Did you seriously think we wouldn't celebrate it?" He doesn't answer them. How on earth could anyone treat a child like that?

"Can we go for a walk?" Luna asks. "A walk?" Remus questioned, looking at Xenophilius. "Go course, my dears, as long as your careful." They nod and slip their shoes on, out the door. Eventually, they walk far enough to come across a creek, Luna sits on the ground. Cyrus does the same thing, sitting across from her.

He watches the water flow by. The trees whoosh, branches creak slightly, almost like they're talking to each other. Birds chirp and sing around them. Cyrus lies down, closing his eyes. "Peaceful, isn't it?" He hums in agreement.

"Meditation is a great tool for seers." She informs. "It is? How?"

"There's multiple reasons. For one, it helps with our visions. Sometimes, a dream might be a little cryptic and hard to understand, so when we meditate and focus on it, they might be able to become clear." She stops, giving him a few seconds so he can understand what she's telling him.

"And secondly, it helps with our moods, although this one applies to anyone. As seers, we see the world differently. We hear things, see things, and know things that other people don't. It can get a little overwhelming at times, so meditating can help with that."

"Are there other ways to see the future?" He's sitting ba k up, quite intrigued with this ability. "You chose divination as one of your electives, right?" "Yeah, probably should've picked something else though."

"Divination can help with your seer abilities, if you have a competent teacher that is. You can go by tea leaf reading, tarot reading, scrying. There's a lot of different types, but for now, we'll just focus on mediation." He closes his eyes and crosses his legs over each other, resting his hands on his knees. He takes a deep slow breath-he hears a splash, making his eyes open. Looking over at the creek, he sees Luna knee deep in the clear water.

He rushes over to the water's edge. "Are you okay?" "Of course, I am! The waters great, come for a swim!" He looks down, unsure. "Is it safe?" He crouches to feel it with his hand. "Yes!" He starts taking off his shoes. "What about my clothes?" she shrugs. "It doesn't matter, come and have fun, you're allowed to have fun you know?" Making up his mind, he takes his socks off and jumps in.

The water is cool against his pale skin. It's nice, especially for a hot day during summer. He flops into the water, soaking his clothes and drenching his hair. "See? It's fun."

"I thought we were going to mediated?" She shakes her head. "No, we'll start another day. Today, we're going swimming." She splashes him lightly. He splashes her back. She swerves, making him miss. Luna smiles innocently, splashing a little more force.

He walks toward her, causing her to step back. He misses again as she runs away from him, laughing.

He catches up once they're in a shallower end, ankle deep. They're panting lightly. Taking her wrist, he leads her back to where they just were, getting an eerie feeling.

He lies down, like a starfish in the water, floating contentedly. Letting the water engulf him.

When Cyrus opens his eyes, he finds that it's shadier than before. Did he fall asleep? He can't' have. He was conscious the whole time, he would've have known. He sits down in the sand, looking for Luna. She's sitting near him, looking around her surroundings.

"How long have we been here for?"

"Around an hour and a half. You weren't asleep if that's what you're thinking. You were awake, the water is just very calming." Yeah, that makes a bit of sense, kind of.

He gets up, out of the water, standing on the grass. He grabs his shoes waits for Luna. They head back home, hungry and wanting lunch.

Even though the door turned out to be unlocked, Cyrus knocks, not wanting to track water through the house. Remus opens it. "Towels?"

"Yes please." He leaves the door open, coming back a second later. Thanking him, they wrap it around themselves. The towel is warm, as if it just came out of a muggle dryer. Cyrus questions if it's been charmed to be this warm.

"How about you both go for a shower, so you don't get sick." Xenophilius suggests. "We'll have lunch afterwards." The two does as they're asked, Cyrus going first, coming out with a clean pair of clothes on and drying his hair. He sits at the table, hungry, and waiting for his sister to get out.

Jam sandwiches and tea has been brewed for lunch, that's eaten quietly.

It's the middle of the day, the four are relaxing in their respected areas. Cyrus is on the couch next to Luna, both reading a book off the shelf Remus has, who had gone down for a nap some time ago, and Xenophilius has been writing things down on parchment.

The wind chimes from outside are sooth him even more. Cyrus hasn't been this relaxed in months. He's tempted to close his eyes for a moment.
