Retreat to Trollmarket

Jim jerked awake when a scream sounded outside, he jumped up to dart to his bedroom window and was met with the sight of thick mist. The sound of Toby’s voice coming from his walkie-talkie startled him. “Jimbo, you there?”
He quickly grabbed it to answer. “I’m here Tobes. Is Arrrgh with you?”
“Yeah, want to talk to him.”
“No but you should stay but until I can send Claire to portal you, him and Nana over here.”
“Gotcha, I’ll gather some stuff together for camping out at your house until this mist is cleared while waiting for Claire to show up. Warhammer out.”
Jim sighed in relief after setting his walkie-talkie down and headed downstairs to inform his mom about the incoming guests.
Barbara stared out the window to the backyard, swearing she saw movement in the mist and decided to call the hospital to let whoever answered that she wasn’t coming in to work until the mist cleared.

Her son came downstairs as she hung up and she turned towards him. “I hope you don’t have any Trollhunter calls today. I don’t want you going out in that mist, there’s something off about it.” She told him.

Having the same feeling he agreed not go out into the mist just as another scream sounded from outside down the street. Jim quickly called Claire to fill her in on the plan for them all to gather at his house so they could discuss what to do next.

The group stepped through Claire’s portal into what was once troll market, ignoring the few goblins that scattered and hid from their presence. “We can set up in the heroes forge. I need to see if I can get into the void to talk with past Trollhunters anyway.” Jim told the others as he lead the way.

“Please don’t go outside mom, there’s something wrong with that mist.” Eli begged his mom not to leave but she refused to listen and grabbed her purse walking out the front door. Seconds after she walked out the door she screamed until the sound was cut off. Eli pressed his head against the door with tears running from his eyes.

Wiping his tears he stood up straight and went to call Claire for a portal to where the rest of them are gathering also to let her know about his mom. On the other end of the call Claire pressed a hand to her mouth, sorrow appearing on her face.
“Claire, what’s wrong?” Her father questioned as she hung up.
“Eli just lost his mom. She wouldn’t listen to him and went into the mist.”

After several minutes of shocked silence Ophelia took charge, sending the teens to pick up Steve and Krel on their way to help Eli pack up whatever he wanted to while her and the other adults worked on finding room for the boy.

They picked Krel up first, Claire sending the blanks to troll market, then went to the Palchuck home. “Hey buttsnacks, what’s up.” Steve greeted as soon as they all stepped through the portal.
Claire spoke up. “Eli’s mom has been lost in the mist and we’re on our way to help him pack while our parents find a place for him.”

“Wow poor Pepperbuddy.” Is all Steve can say as his mom and coach dad come into the room, offering to help the other parents.
Thanking them Claire opened a portal to troll market then opening a second one to Eli’s home after the first one was closed.

As soon as they were through the portal Steve, Krel and Toby went to Eli’s side to offer what support they could while Jim and Claire located several suitcases and started packing clothes for him, deciding to let Eli pack up the rest of the house when he was ready.

On the way downstairs Claire grabbed a picture of Eli with his mom for him. “We’re ready to head back to troll market. We are bringing you with us Eli, you don’t need to worry about packing clothes Claire and I already took care of that for you.” Jim said when they rejoined the others.

Eli smiled at his friends in gratitude as he wiped his eyes and got to his feet. “Thanks for coming you guys…but how are getting to troll market, we can’t go out in that mist.”
With a smirk Claire opened a portal behind Eli making him turn and smile sheepishly. “Oh yeah I forgot you can do that.”
