Like they were their end and their beginning, that they were the reason the sun rose in the morning...that they were their saving grace
The way Severus looked at Potions...
This was also around the time that he realized he might have feelings for Severus.

When the newspapers published articles on his becoming Lord Black despite his rocky relationship with the previous Lord Black, his father, he was in full Black regalia making sure he looked every bit the part of a Lord.
His grandfather stood by his side and that somehow gave Sirius the confidence to start being the man he needed to be.
He began actively managing their investments and looking for other investments to expand their books and vaults.
He brought Andromeda back into the family.
He artfully sidestepped questions about Bellatrix remaining in the family despite being a marked death eater.
and he dutifully ignored all questions about when he'd settle down and find the future Lady Black to have lots of Black babies with.

"nah, just to me...and Lily...and Remus...and everyone else we're friends with"
Sirius sat there gaping like a fish
