Chapter 13
Albus Didn’t even thought about sleeping in his bed when they got back to Hogwarts. He’s been sleeping in Scorpius bed for the past week now and it’s incredible. Everyday waking up next to him makes his heart warm
Today the classes started again. They‘ve been back for a week now and Scorpius insisted in going to the library to study—even when he has nothing to study for Albus woke up from the feeling of multiple kisses on his cheek.
He smiled before opening his eyes. „Hello there“ he said and gave the blond boy a long kiss
„So I was thinking“ he started. „Should we maybe tell Timothy and Eudora about us?“
„I don’t know“ he layed his hand on the other boys chest. „I‘m not ready to come out yet“
„I understand, but do you really wanna date in secret forever?“ he asked. „Everyone is gonna find out eventually“
„Of course not, we’re gonna come out…just—now is not the right time“ he said and looked at him.
„So, we are just gonna date in secret and leave it by that, got it“ Scorpius seemed pissed by his answers. Albus moved a little to look directly in his face—trying to see what’s bothering him so much about it. „I was just thinking about that I wanna come out to my dad“ he said when he noticed Albus gaze
„But Scor, that’s great. You can always come out to your dad, he’s your family, I have no problem with that“ they both sat up on the bed to looked at each other while talking. „Are you asking for my permission?“
„Kinda. I won’t come out to him if you don’t feel comfortable enough“
„I never said you can’t come out to your dad. I just don’t want to come out to everyone“ he explained and his voice got quieter. „we‘ve already got a lot of shit the first years we‘ve been here. I just don’t want to go through that again“
„Since when do you care about what others think?“
He shrugged his shoulders. „I don’t care about that…but you do“ And now he finally realised what Albus is trying to tell him.
He shook his head. „You don’t want me to get bullied again?“ he asked. „Albus, that is so cute of you“
„That’s not cute, I’m just trying to protect you“ he said. „And me. We will both get a lot of shit for being together, I don’t want that and you don’t want that either“
„of course not, but I also don’t wanna be your secret“ he exhaled. „It’s okay if you‘re not ready to come out yet, but we can’t always pretend to just be friends“ Albus nicked. „I won’t force you to anything, I’m just asking when will it be okay for you to come out?“
„Give me a few weeks. First I wanna come out to my parents, than we can start telling people and while that everyone is gonna find out about us“
„That’s okay“ he said.

In the great hall, they‘re doing their usual. Scorpius sipping his coffee and Albus trying to eat at least something. „Oh Albus, and by the way, Josy is going to ask you if you wanna join the quidditch team“ Eudora said
„What?—why?“
„Well, Charlie heard from Lesley who heard it from Olivia that Josy is looking for a new keeper since Lisa left“ she said. „Do you even want to?“
„I hate quidditch, so no“
„Why do you hate quidditch?“
„Because he doesn’t want to be associated with his father“ Timothy said. „Which is bullshit, because Albus is actually good at that game but doesn’t want to admit it“
Multiple owls came down to bring their stundet letters and the daily Prophet while Timothy was talking
„he’s right, you would be a good member of the team“ Scorpius said
„No“ Albus said and sticked his fork in his food. „just because I’m good at it, doesn’t mean I like it, I think it’s useless and the rules are-„
„you guys…“ Eudora looked with wide eyes in the Prophet. People around them stared talking quietly—giving them judge looks
„What’s wrong?“ Scorpius asked After a few seconds, she showed them the paper.

Albus layed his head in his boyfriends shoulder and just wanted to wake up from that dream—that can’t be happening
„I don’t think I can do that anymore“ he said quietly
„What do you mean?“

Scorpius slowly pushed himself away to look at him. „Us?“ he asked again. „Albus—you don’t mean that“
„I think it would be better if we just—stop“
Now Scorpius was the one with tears in his eyes. „Are you breaking up with me?“
„We weren’t even fully together. I don’t break up with you, I’m just asking if we could stop what we‘re doing the entire time“ Now Scorpius wasn’t touching Albus at all anymore.
He nodded a few time—bitting on his lip. „So, you just wanna end this“ he asked again. „What was all that about 'you can’t stop thinking about me since you know I like you‘? Was that a lie?“
„No it wasn’t“ his voice broke down and the tears were coming back. „It was all true, I really, really like you Scor. I just can’t do it anymore“
It knocked on the door. „No!“ Albus shouted at the door but it still opened
They would have expected Timothy or Eudora. But when they saw their parents standing at the door—they tried to wipe away their tears and getting more away from each other than their already were
„I think we need to talk“ Mrs Potter said as they closed the door behind them
Mr Malfoy sat down on Scorpius bed while Mr Potter layed against the wall beside the door and Mrs Potter sat on Albus bed were the boys were sitting too.
„I think we all saw the daily prophet“
„do we really have to talk about this now?“ Albus asked his mother. „There’s literally nothing left to say“
His mother kept talking. „We already talked to the daily prophet and the nasty women who wrote this article and they won’t publish anything about you two ever again“ she said. „But just so we know. Are you two—„
„No“ Scorpius said. „We‘ve never been“ Albus got his tears back in his eyes while looking at him. „And it won’t happen again“ he said too
„You have no right to be mad at me right now“ these words just slipped out of him—and he didn’t care that his parents and Draco were in the room with them
„I‘m not mad, I’m just reaping what you just told me minutes ago“ he said calmly
Albus sadness vanish away and was replaced with anger. „Okay“ said. „it won’t happen again“
„Okay, I don’t know know what just happened, but just to be clear, we have no problem with you two being together“ Albus mother said
„Really?“ Scorpius looked at his father
„I always knew you were gay, so its not surprise for me“
„wow, thanks dad“
„how long is this going on?“ Mr Potter asked from the wall were he was standing
Albus exhaled. „since end of fifth year“
„Two months ago?“ Albus mother seemed shocked. „I though it was way longer ago“ she said to her husband
„wait, you are really cool with that?“ Albus Asked—he still couldn’t believe that, it felt unreal „Absolutely, right you guys?“
„I‘m cool with it“ Mr Malfoy said which Scorpius made even sadder that it’s over now
„Me too“ Mr potter said way more quieter
Albus looked at Scorpius who still hasn’t removed his eyes from his hands. He exhaled. „how long will you gonna be pissed at me?“ he say way quieter and hoped Scorpius was the only one who heard
„I‘m not pissed“ he said.
„Yea you are“
„alright“ he exhaled.
„Okay what happened?“ Albus mother asked—the tension between them was not to unseen. „Are you fighting? Have you two broken up or what’s going on?“
„We—doesn’t matter“ Albus noticed how Scorpius went much farer away than he was before. „As we already said, it’s not gonna happen again“
„So you broke up?“
„We were never together“ Scorpius said with such confidence it broke Albus heart. „I need to go, I missed two classes because of that“ he said and wanted it get his bag.
„Do you really wanna go back to class right away? We talked to professor Mcgonagall, she said it would be okay for you two to take some time off if you need it“ Mr Malfoy said
„It’s fine, I can go back to classes“ Scorpius said and left the room

„So this is going on all summer now?“ Eudora asked as Scorpius returned to their table in the library. „How did I never noticed that?“
He shrugged his shoulders. „Does or really matter now? It’s over“
„It’s not over, you just had a fight, you‘ll get back together“ He noticed a little sadness in her eyes as she opened her books
„Look, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you. We agreed that we‘ll keep it as a secret“
„It’s fine, you don’t need to explain yourself“ she said and smiled. „besides all that, how are you feeling?“
„being outed in the daily prophet was not really on my sixth year schedule“ he said and He stood up and searched for more book—Eudora right behind him. „I mean, I think it’s good that the thing between me and Albus is over now. I don’t wanna be anyone’s secret and if he doesn’t feel comfortable enough in his sexuality, than it’s good that it’s over right?“
She exhaled in disagreement. „He just needs time“
„And I give him that“
„Scorpius, you like him since—I actually don’t know since when. You like him for a very long time now, do you really just want to give up so easily?“
„I had to end it before I get to emotional in this relationship. It would have been more painful if I ended it months later“
„I understand“ Eudora layed against the bookshelf’s. „I still think you‘re gonna get back together“
„Who knows, I sure don’t care anymore“
„Yes you do! Stop pretending like you don’t. You like Albus and he likes you back. Fait will bring you back together or I do not believe in love anymore“

Mr Malfoy And Albus Mother left right after Scorpius did—Albus dad still wanted to talk to his son alone. He sat down on Scorpius bed. „I just wanted to let you know that I don’t care that you‘re gay“ he said and Albus nicked confused. „It’s just—does it have to be him?“
„What do you mean?“
„I mean he’s a Malfoy. His father was a death eater and the rumours-„
„The rumours are not true, I think they made that very clear, dad. Whats your point with all of that?“
„I don’t like him“ The air in the room got really thick and Albus just looked at his father and can’t decided what to say next.
„I know that“ he said. „But it’s my decision who i‘m going out with“
„I‘m sure there are a lot of guys in Hogwarts who want to be with you“ he said. „I don’t like him for good reasons, alright, and that won’t change. I support your sexuality, but I wont support your relationship with him“
„Fine, then don’t support me, I don’t care“ he said. „do you honestly think your opinion matters to me? I literally couldn’t give a fuck less“ Albus stood up to stand in formt of his father—he never felt that confident before. „Mom and Mr Malfoy just said they don’t have a problem with that, just because you disagree doesn’t mean that I’ll change my feelings about Scorpius“ He didn’t say anything anymore about that.
„Life your life, I won’t support it“
„And I still don’t care“ His father stood up and left the room.
Albus finally stood up for himself, he felt confident and full of energy when it hit him again—Scorpius broke up with him
