Summary
When the original vampires were created, Ayanna along with Esther performed a spell that created the nature's ultimate loophole. It was said that the child of a Bennett and Mikaelsons will be an all powerful supernatural that cannot be killed.Centuries went by and the bond between the two families became weaker and weaker. Nobody believed that the spell was true and called it a myth, a legend. Till one day when both the families finally reunited. Many people still believe that it is just a legend and that it cannot come true, while the others believe that their worst nightmare has already come true.___________________________This story is about Bonnie’s daughter.I own nothing except the character of maya

Kol

The pain he felt that day didn’t compare to anything he felt before. The day he lost the two people who meant the world to him. That day, his wife died and his daughter, well he didn’t know what happened to her.  He didn’t get to mourn them or avenge them or even go looking for his daughter. They had to deal with Marcel, the upgraded original. And that's what they did.

And they failed. All of his siblings, other than klaus, ended up in coffins, for the next five years. He thought of his daughter everyday in the dreamworld. And only then did he mourn his loss. His siblings swore to him, that when they wake up, they will find her.

But they failed to keep that promise. Because once they, woke up they had a new threat looming over their heads, the hollow. And to save Hope’s life, they had to undergo a spell that lead to the end of always and forever. He could no longer meet his siblings or his niece, and, hence, couldn’t get their help to find her.

The little time between waking up and having to deal with the hollow, gave Klaus a chance to bond with his daughter, and Kol had never been more jealous. Even his siblings, instead of trying to find Maya, were trying to spend time with her. And that just pissed him off even more.

Make no mistake, Kol loves his niece, but seeing her only reminds him of Maya. How he promised to take care of her and protect her. And, now, he doesn’t know where she is or even if she’s alive.

Ever since the spell happened, he has looked for her everyday. And everyday he would only find dead ends. In those years, he heard many stories of what happened that day. But the one that stood out the most was that Maya was responsible for Bonnie’s death. He, obviously, didn’t believe it, considering that Maya had turned only two years old on the day it happened. And no two year old has the capability to kill a grown and powerful witch.

The only member of his family that he remained in contact with was his niece. He’d talk to her almost everyday. He couldn’t protect his daughter so he tried to protect his niece the best he could. He had told her about Maya, and how she had a sister. She swore to help him find her, but there wasn’t much she could do. With Klaus doing god knows what, and the stories circulating about him, Kol and Hope grew closer. She was like the daughter he couldn’t raise and he was the father figure she needed.

Normally he wouldn’t talk to Freya, even though she was usually around when he called Hope. But today was different.

“How’s my little nerd doing?”

“I’ve been better,” she smiled and asked, “Any luck finding her?”

“Not really.” Seeing her saddened expression, he quickly changed the topic, “You know Sacramento is a beautiful place this time of the year, you should visit sometime.”

He had made Sacramento his base of operation. The coven there was more than willing to help him find Maya. After all she was the last Bennett.

“I would love to, but I’m grounded.” She smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes.

“Grounded? You can’t ground a witch. Let alone my favourite niece.”

She laughed at that, “That’s what I said,” she playfully rolled her eyes, “Mom didn’t think it was funny.”

“Well I’m sure it will all blow over by Mardi Gras.”

“I..” she hesitated, “I didn’t think it was such a big deal at the time, but now that it’s start up so much trouble, I- I feel kinda bad.”

Hope had the pressure of being the perfect child. Their family had decided that she was the only hope for the family, and put the weight of the world on her shoulders, forgetting that she was just a child.

“Darling you cant get your nickers in a knot every time you have a little kafuffle, you’ll never have a moment of pleasure. And I for one thought you showed some real entrepreneurial spirit.” He was trying his best to comfort her.

That earned a small chuckle from her, “Yeah that’s me, your friendly neighbourhood blood dealer.”

“I’m sure you noticed by now, the best people are the black sheep.”

“Like my dad?”

“I was referring to me. Niklaus is in a league of his own.”

“Seen him lately?”

“Well thankfully, for you, no. But don’t worry, sooner or later something will blow up in New Orleans. Some crisis or other always brings us back.”

Hope’s expression changed to something that could only be described as her scheming face,“Okay.”

Before they could end their call, Freya came up behind Hope, and spoke, “Kol, I need  you to do something for me.”

“My darling sister, as much as I would love to be your errand boy, I’m busy.”

“Somebody crossed the protective wards of the Beacon hills house.” She ignored his antics.

“And how exactly is that my problem?”

“That house has some valuable objects that belong to our family.”

“If its so important, why can’t Rebekah go? Or Marcel?”

“You are the closest to it,” she waited for a second, contemplating what she was going to say next,”You can continue looking for her after that.”

“Hate to break it to you love, but she means a lot more to me than a few objects.” His voice was laced with anger.

“Even if some of those objects belonged to Bonnie? I know you want to find her, but you cant loose Bonnie’s things either. It will hardly take you a day. So please just do this, for our family.”

“Fine.” He agreed, reluctantly.

“Thank you.”

And the call ended.

Beacon Hills was hardly a two hour drive from Sacramento, but it was getting pretty late, he decided to leave the next morning, tying up a few loose ends with the coven before leaving.

He looked at the picture frame next to his bed, and fell asleep with a smile on his face. The picture in it was the only picture he had with Bonnie and Maya. Bonnie was in a simple but elegant white dress, her wedding dress, he was wearing a suit and Maya was in an adorable, baby pink, floral dress. It was a perfect family photo.

_______________________________

Not wanting to waste anytime, he woke up early the next morning. He took a shower and put on a grey sweater and a pair of black jeans. And without wasting another second, got into his car and headed towards Beacon Hills.

On reaching the town, he abandoned his car near the forest, continuing the rest of the path on foot. The moment he entered the house he saw two men standing in the hall. By their scent, he could tell that they were vampires, vampires he didn’t know. Vampires who could be his family’s enemy. So he did the only thing he could think of, he attacked them.

He vamped towards them, and threw them inside using his strength, he could hear their bones crack when they hit the wall and see the splatter of blood left on it when the fell back down. The next thing that happened surprised him, the taller of the two vampires ran towards him, grabbed his arm, which started glowing orange, and siphoned his power. Before it was too late, Kol snapped his neck.

Still recovering from the siphoning, Kol was thrown onto the nearest wall by the other vampire. Everything that happened after was just a blur. Punches were thrown, mostly by Kol, hands and face’s covered in blood, mostly by the blood of the two vampires. In the end they ended on the ground, struggling to breathe, with Kol hovering over them, preparing his final blow to kill them. And right then a girl, a sixteen years old girl, came down the stairs with a katana in her hand, ready to kill.

Kol couldn’t believe his eyes. He hadn’t seen the girl in fourteen years but he would still recognise her any day. Standing on the stairs was Maya, his daughter.

She first looked at the men laying on the ground, with fear in her eyes and then she looked at him with a different kind of fear. She was afraid for the men on the floor, but she was afraid of him.

She dropped the blade and ran towards them and gave them her blood to heal, completely ignoring him. But he could sense her fear. Even though every fibre of his being urged him to go towards her, to hold her, to take her away from those guys, he took a few staggering steps back, giving them their space.

He observed their entire interaction, how close they are, but more  importantly he observed her. She was wearing a pair of black track pants and a white tank top, they belonged to Rebekah. She looked exactly like her mom. She had the same black coloured hair, that were tied up in a bun, the same olive green, almond shaped eyes. She was pretty short and had a athletic figure. Her arms were covered in scars, some of them looked like claw marks, some looked like she got them from defending herself but some were too uniform to be caused in a fight, they were caused by her.

The longer he looked at them the more his heart broke. Every scar made him think of how he wasn’t there to protect her, how he failed her. Then another thought came into his mind, she didn’t run, she vamped. She’s a vampire. She died, and he wasn’t there to help her through her transition. His vision became blurry, and his face dampened. He was crying, something he hadn’t done in a long time.

When he saw them stand up again, he quickly wiped his tears and regained his composure. Being alive for a thousand years does, after all, give you immaculate control over your emotions.

The two men were standing slightly in front of her, creating a barrier between Kol and Maya, to protect her from him. Maya may have stood behind them, but she was no longer afraid, in fact, she was ready to fight him, holding two daggers in her hand, which he has no idea where she got from. She was ready to protect the two vampires just as much as they were to protect her.

He wanted to beg for her forgiveness, for not being there for her, for not protecting her, for not saving her, for not finding her sooner, for everything. But he knew that now wasn’t the time for that. Right now he needed them to believe that he wouldn’t hurt them, that he wouldn’t hurt her. So he raised his blood soaked hands in surrender and fell to his knees.

But before he could say anything the heretic moved towards him and snapped his neck. Kol greeted the darkness with a satisfied smile, knowing that he finally found his daughter and that he could finally protect her.
