Steve's POV:

Why is it that potion class is always our first period I say to myself with a heavy sigh as I continue running towards the Potion classroom

Not even a second i step a foot in the class i was already met with a chilling voice-

"Harrington, late again?... 5 points from Ravenclaw will be taken away. Sit down" Professor Snape tells me

I sat down on an empty seat while rolling my eyes, my eyes met a sweet and luminous eye with darker rays fanning out around the bottomless pit of an iris... It was Jonathan's

"Did, Snape change the sitting arrangements?" I say to the dark blonde sitting reading a book

"Unfortunately" Jonathan tells me, still not removing his eyes from the potion book he was reading

"What is that supposed to mean?" I say to him sarcastically but he might've not noticed the sarcasm in my voice

"Nothi-" Jonathan tries to say but was cut off by Professor

"Is there anything you would like to share with the class, Byers?" Snape tells Jonathan 

"Nothing, sorry, Professor" Jonathan replies and i can see that he's looking at me with annoyance and a bit of anger in his eyes

I mouthed a "sorry" to Jonathan, he rolled his eyes and shaked his head as he started reading the book again

I was looking at his wrist, the scars are starting to heal and I'm happy about that... I just wished that i knew the reason why he's harming his self

I stopped starring at his wrist when professor started talking

"Today, all of you will be having your 

group activity, the person that is sitting next to you is your partner for the rest of the semester, I already assigned the seats" Snape says

I can see Jonathan shaking his head showing signs of him not wanting to be partners with me

"We will be making the Draught of Peace, can anyone tell me what this particular potion can do to it's taker?"

Snape asks

"It's a potion that can relieve the takers anxiety and agitation" Granger says

"Correct, all of you will be making this potion, the ingredients are on the board, make sure to follow these steps. Overdoing the ingredients can put the drinker into a deep sleep" Snape says 

I started reading the ingredients and steps, the ingredients are Powdered moonstone, Syrup of hellebore and Powdered unicorn horn

"It is ironically a difficult potion to make, requiring that the brewer follow the directions carefully, because making a mistake can have drastic consequences" Professor started to say while students are trying to brew the potion

I looked away from the board to see Jonathan almost adding the Syrup of Hellebore into the coldron

"Jonathan it says that ingredients must be added in the exact order and amounts specified" I warned

"Isn't the Syrup of Hellebore the first ingredient?" Jonathan asked me with a confused look

I took the bottle of Powdered Moonstone and gave it to Jonathan

"Professor wrote the Syrup of Hellebore first, but in the books of potions- I say while looking for the specific page in the book, i can see Jonathan nodding and listening to me

"-It says that the Powdered Moonstone is the first ingredient to put in the coldron, then we have to Stir it until the potion turns blue"

Jonathan's POV:

I didn't know that Steve actually knew things about potions

I took the Bottle of Powdered Moonstone and started putting a decent amount in the coldron

"then we have to Stir it until the potion turns blue" Steve says

I started stirring the potion but it wasn't turning blue, what am i doing wrong? 

Steve held my hand helping me to properly stir the potion

"Slow and steady, Jonathan, not fast" Steve tells me as he continues guiding my hand to stir, it slowly started becoming blue

"Then you add more Powdered Moonstone until the potion turns Purple" Steve explains to me as i add a little bit more of the powder

"Wait for it to simmer until it turns pink" he says

I couldn't focus, his voice was distracting me because of how... Comforting it is?

"Byers, you're starring" Steve says snapping me back to reality

"I wasn't, i was looking at the partners near us, they're blaming each other" I say

Steve nods and went to look at coldron

"It's now pink, now you can add the Syrup of Hellebore until the potion turns turquoise"

I added the syrup into the coldron and it automatically turned the shade of turquoise

"Shake powdered porcupine quills vigorously until they are ready and then add until the potion turns red" Steve tells me

I started shaking the powdered porcupine quills until they're ready and added it in the coldron, with a blink of an eye it became red

Steve started stirring the potion and it slowly became orange

"Allow to simmer till the potion turns purple" Steve says as i nod

"So what was that about, earlier in the-" I tried to say

"Uh, that was nothing, i don't know what got in me, hehe" Steve answers

I wasn't content with the answer but I'll let it slide for now 

"Oh look the potion is purple" Steve says

"Can you pass me the powdered unicorn horn" 

I passed him the powdered unicorn horn and placed it in the coldron

The potion became pink after Steve dropped the powder

Steve stopped talking and guiding me, he was the one doing everything, he stirred the potion until it became red, then he waits again for it to simmer so it will turn to purple

I took the powdered moonstone and added some to the coldron and it turned grey

Steve stopped stirring and once again waited for it to simmer until it turns orange

Steve started adding more powdered porcupine quills until the potion turns white and placed the liquid inside a flask

Steve raised his hands to call Snape

I started looking around, we're the only pair that was finished making the potion

"Um, Professor, we're done with our potion" Steve says and Snape started walking towards us

"Go, ahead and drink it" Snape says 

Steve nods and drank the potion after drinking the potion he wiped his mouth with his hand

"How do you feel?" I asked him

"I feel fine, actually i feel better" Steve answers my question with a little smile

"25 points for both Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff for making the potion first" 

Snape says and i can see Steve smiling

Snape started walking away 

"We did it!" Steve says trying to high five with me

I stared at him and his hands before giving him the high five

"You did most of the job" I say 

"I'm not just a player now, am i Jonathan?" Steve says with a wink 

I gave a little chuckle 

"Uh, but seriously... Thank... Thank you, I'm bad at potions" 

"You're welcome, Jonathan" Steve tells me with a smile

Steve's POV:

Snape dismissed the class, I was now walking with Jonathan on our way to our second class... Charm class

"Jonathan, may i ask you something?" I asked the dark blonde

"Go ahead" Jonathan says

"So, uh, the Christmas season is starting next month and i was wondering if you were free at that time" I replied

"I'm probably not doing anything around the holiday season, so yes I am free, why'd you ask?" He replied to me

"I was wondering if i can take you out" I say nervously

"What is that exactly supposed to mean, Harrington?" Jonathan asks

"Maybe we can hangout in Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade, we can get something to eat, or buy some stuff" I replied to his question

"Sure, we can do that, i guess? But Cedric asked me if i can go to Hogsm-" Jonathan says

Merlin, i hate hearing that name in his mouth

"Oh... Uh It's okay, maybe after?" 

"Yeah, we can hangout afterwards"

We finally arrived in our class, it was just the two of us, the other students aren't there

"We're early" Jonathan whispers to me as we walk to our seats, he sat besides me

The other students arrived after 5 minutes

Professor Flitwick thought us how to cast a Patronus to keep ourselves protected from dementors

He told us that you need to use your

happiest memories to produce a kind of shield to help protect your selves from dementors

I visualized the moment when i first got a wand from Ollivanders and when i got the message from Dumbledore that I'm attending hogwarts

My wand started glowing a shade of blue on its tip and i said the spell

"Patronus!" I say as my wand released a volpe 

Wow I looked as it started fading away I just cast my first Patronus I tell myself

I looked at Jonathan, it seems like he can't do it, I slowly started approaching him to help

I put my right hand on his shoulder

"Think of your happiest memories, Jonathan, visualize it, then that's when you cast your spell" I explained to him

Jonathan tries again "Patronus!" His wand started release a Phoenix

"You did it!" I say excitedly

Jonathan jumped to me and hugged me "Thank you, again, really, Thank you, Steve"

"You're always welcome, Byers" I say with a smile

"What was the memory that you chose?" I asked him
