Shuichi's birthday was today. Kokichi wanted to bake him his favorite cookie for his birthday. Shuichi was sleeping in late and Kokichi didn't want to wake him. He needed salt though, the salt was up far too high for Kokichi to reach.
He only needed half a teaspoon of salt but he just could reach it. He was about to jump up onto the counter when he felt an arm brush against him and a body hug close to his own. The salt made its way into Kokichi's hand and he immediately poured what he needed into his bowl.
Kokichi tried to jump and get the salt back up until the hand from before laughed and set the salt back up into the shelf. "What are you doing up so earlyyyy." Kokichi pouted as he turned around to see Shuichi standing next to him.
"I'm not tired anymore, so I got out of bed, plus you weren't in bed anymore and it makes sleeping significantly less enjoyable when you're not there." The taller boy smiled and leaned down to give Kokichi a kiss.
"Hmpf, I'm not done yet!" Kokichi pushed Shuichi's face away from his, "Don't look at what I'm doing!" Kokichi then sprung to cover the big bowl with his body the best he could. Shuichi hugged Kokichi from behind and the two both started laughing as Shuichi tried his best to get Kokichi to let go of the bowl.
Shuichi started the tickle Kokichi until he eventually let go and flung to the floor, trying to get away from the tickles.
"No fair! I'm just trying to give you a surprise for your birthdayyy." Kokichi pouted as he sprung to his feet.
"I'm nosy what can I say." Shuichi laughed.
"Shuuu," Kokichi whined, "go away so I can work on your supriseeee."
"How about since it's my birthday, you let me help you." Shuichi smiled.
"But... but... it was supposed to be a surprise." Kokichi gave Shuichi his famous puppy dog eyes.
"Well it's too late now and it would be much more fun to do it together anyways."
"Ughhhh fine." Kokichi pushed the bowl to Shuichi and walked away to go get more of his ingredients. Kokichi found himself smiling a bit at the idea of him and Shuichi working on this together.
Kokichi opened up his pantry to see that the chocolate chips he needed were a bit too high for him. Out of the corner of Shuichi's eye he could see Kokichi jumping up tall to try and get the chips.
"Do you need help." Shuichi laughed as he walked over to Kokichi.
"I hate being short." The smaller boy crossed his arms angrily.
"I'm not too tall either." Shuichi grabbed the chocolate chips with ease and pat Kokichi on the head.
Walking back to the bowl Kokichi grabbed the chocolate chips from Shuichi and poured it into the bowl. A pair of arms slide themselves around Kokichi as he mixed the chips into the dough. Shuichi rested his head on the top of Kokichi's and wrapped his arms around his stomach.
"You don't seem to be helping much." Kokichi laughed.
"I'm moral support." Shuichi kissed Kokichi's cheek.
With enough messing around the boys eventually managed to finish all the cookies. They were actually really good. The rest of the day was spent just hanging out with each other, the best birthday gift Shuichi could get.
