Chapter 2
I took out all the things from under James' bed. There were firebottles, jellybean packets, a potions book and a transfiguration notebook, and of course the invisibility cloak I was looking for.
However, I did not find an answer to the question that bothered me: "Where did the bra come from?". I'm very curious by nature, intrusive according to Remus, so I couldn't leave it at that.
I don't know what possessed me to search the sheets as well, but it was definitely a bad decision. I found a strand of red hair under the pillow.
Knowing that there is only one long-haired squirrel at Hogwarts, I left the dormitory and went to the one where Lily lives. I've been there a few times so getting there wasn't a problem.
If you're wondering how I outwitted the vicious stairs that keep boys from entering the women's section, the answer is simple: the spell doesn't work on gays. This is how I checked Remus' orientation when I got bored of stalking.
After getting to the women's section, I knocked on the third door. It's quite funny that three girls live in the third dormitory and me and the boys in the fourth. After a while, the person I wanted to talk to opened the door, so it was a good thing.
"I didn't expect you here Sirius, some relationship problem?" Lily asked in an annoyingly cute voice as she opened the door, and I wondered if she was alone here.
"Aren't your roommates there?" I asked entering the dormitory and looking around the room. I could never get over how the girls are so clean.
"Marlene, Dorcas and Mary went to Hogsmeade and I stayed to do my Transfiguration homework.." Then she started rambling on about turning herons into jugs or some other nonsense and I wasn't going to listen to it so I cut her off annoyed.
"Game over, Evans." I said to her in a dry and cool tone and pointedly showed her my bra, waving it ostentatiously.
"Did you steal my bra Sirius?" asked the girl, trying not to laugh, which she was doing on average
I didn't respond to this absurd accusation, just rolled my eyes. "Why would I need a bra?"
"I dond know, maybe you want to show your boyfriend in something sexy? Any new ways to seduce?" more stupid questions
"All I have to do is take off my shirt, and my werewolf is already on his knees, sometimes even literally." When the redhead made a disgusted face, I realized that I had said it out loud.
"If you wanted to borrow, all you had to do was ask." she grinned in a strange way, "although I doubt it would suit you and it's not to Remus's taste.." she continued as if she didn't understand my statement
"Very funny, Evans," I snapped, not hiding my sarcasm. "I have nothing to do only steal your bras to show myself to Remus in them." I gave her an icy look.
"Why are you looking at me like that? As if you hated me .." - Lily definitely became sad, or at least gave such an impression. "did I do something wrong?"
"You better tell me." I replied in a cold tone, still staring at her like I would kill her.
"Sirius," she put her hands on her hips, "I really don't understand what you mean.."
"You don't know what I mean?!" I threw my bra at her. "I found this under James' bed and your lint in the sheets," I said through clenched teeth, flailing my arms.
"So you already know," she sighed, "James asked me not to tell anyone, especially you. We're dating secretly and it had.."
"What the fuck?! are you dating?!" I couldn't believe my ears "You and James?!"
"Yes, we're dating. I and James."
"Please tell me it's some stupid joke.." I grabbed my head - it definitely has to be a joke, there is no other option.
"Unfortunately it is not a joke." She looked away, pretending that the burgundy carpet was extremely interesting.
"Fuck" I grabbed my head, my retarded according to Remus brain was not able to process this information. "Evans, stop fucking kidding me"
"You must understand Sirius that I am completely serious."
"You can't be Serious, cause I'm Sirius"
"It's no time for kidding. No one is kidding around here, me and James have been dating since mid-April."
"Since when?!" I screamed and I had a sudden urge to break something, well this is definitely too much
"Since 22'th April" she wisped unstady
"It's been fucking half a year almost!!" I hit the wall with my fist.
"Yes, I know.." Lily took a few steps back and she was clearly scared, she acted as if I was about to hit her. I wouldn't. Even when I get furious. I would never hit a woman.
"Why didn't James tell me?!" I had to ask the question because it hit my head like an anvil.
"He said he was afraid of your reaction, that you wouldn't accept this relationship.." she replied and I got even more nervous
"Did he tell you that?! Seriously?! Well, he was pretty right! Rather, there would be something very, very wrong with me if I accepted the cheating!" I shouted, waving my arms
"Wait.. What cheating?" the girl was clearly surprised. "What do you mean Sirius?" she asked, raising her eyebrows
"Oh .. So James flies on two fronts. Just wooonderful" I said and without waiting for the reaction of the redhead, I just returned to my dormitory as soon as I could.
I threw myself on my bed and cried, just like a little helpless child, and that's how I felt at that moment. I had no idea what to do. I lay idle and cried.
At this point, I had completely forgotten about the Invisibility Cloak, and I wouldn't even want to sneak off to Hogsmeade. This whole James and Lily thing took all my positive energy away.
How else I was able to accept the fact of a one-time outburst provided James was drunk, but what I heard from Lily was unthinkable.
Of course, I took into account that the girl can lie and it's all just one big plot to break James and Regulus' relationship. That's why I can't make any hasty decisions.
Not having the strength to do anything and completely not knowing what to do, I hid under the covers and let the tear soak my pillow.
