Vader & Leia (Star Wars)
The first time he interacts with the Princess on her ship, he is too angry to see the resemblance.
The second time he sees her when the doors whoosh open to her cell, he stops abruptly and if he could have his breath would have hitched but his respirator didn't allow for it. He slowly enters the room with the interrogation droid, door closing behind them, and vaguely hears himself threaten her, his mind lost to images of her. He becomes aware when the droid advances on her, though her hands are shaking, her jaw is set and her eyes boring into his with defiance. So like her, it hurts.
"Droid," he suddenly commands. "Leave us."
Now she's looking at him with confusion in her eyes but she says with great derision, "Have you finally come to your senses that I'm on a diplomatic mission for Alderaan?"
He finds himself bubbling with something and it takes him a moment to realize it's a laugh. What comes out of the vodcorder is a huff and the Princess can't seem to place what that means. He can't believe how he missed even the way she spoke was like her. Granted, she had had more experience in verbal persuasion but he can see it.
